I don't know where to start. There is so much to say on the subject of business people in America opening restaurants and food prep stores like that with no training whatsoever in food and no taste for it in the first place. They just want the money! In France such a business always starts with a chef, a cook, a pastry chef, a charcutier/traiteur making pates and preparing food. Here not only none of such people are listed among the staff but they care to list a "Director of Displays" and an accountant! There are no chef, no cook, no pastry chef listed. It's all people often total newbies toiling in the kitchen. You should go to France and look at what they are doing over there, not only at upscale places in Paris like Hediard, Fauchon, Lenotre but also at neighborhood joints. They should try the sandwiches at Carette. Listen they are clueless, their prepared food is terrible, totally amateurish. Amen.
Review Source:I love the salad here, it's the preparation and customer service that is lackluster. Â When they ask you what you want, they instantly forget what you said and re-ask several times. Â Often times the person asking isn't the one who makes the salad and they lose track. Â About every 4th or 5th time there I get a salad with one or more ingredients missing on a salad that's on the menu. Â Often I have to tell them what's in a menu-ordered salad (can't they just read the menu like I do?). Â Worse off, after stating I wanted grilled chicken, they charge me for it but there's no chicken in the salad. Â The topper? Â The senior person there always says to me, "Sir, you have to tell them you want chicken!" when she should ASK me if I ordered chicken in the first place (I did). Â Today I let her know I DID ask for chicken and she disregarded me, stating, "Yes, but you have to tell us". Â Extremely rude. Â Most of the people there are trying really hard, it's just a couple employees who you don't want making your salad because you know they'll get it wrong. Â It takes twice as long as it should because no one listens to your order (during busy times). Â If you stand there for a few mins, you can see the frustration on customer's faces as they grin and bear it. Â All in all though - the salads ARE fantastic. Â Luckily they've got a great product.
Review Source:Pretty inexpensive, healthy lunch option in the Merch Mart. They've got tons of fixens, dressings, and protein options to accompany your lettuce and overall the salads are pretty good. You can make your own creation of veggies, but don't take too long on it cause the service staff will def give you some additude.
Overall I'd def reccomend it, but beware cause they get slammed during that busy lunch hour and standing in line forever defeats the purpose of a quick lunch.
