The food was at least a solid 3.5, but the price kicked this well into 4 star category. This is a basic no-frills coffee-shop/grill, with more counter seating than booths. You don't come here for Eggs Benedict or Crepes...you come here for Biscuits & Gravy, Corned Beef Hash, Pancakes or an Omelet...all with a side of perfectly cooked greasy Hash Browns. It's good to know there are still places like this in the heart of Chicago. Note: it's a cash only spot, but considering a huge breakfast and a hot drink will run you about $10, that shouldn't be an issue. Enjoy!!
Review Source:When in town I always make sure to stop here for a breakfast. A genuine, human atmosphere, friendly staff, the cook even alerted me that I had dropped a credit card under my table. Super tasty spinach/feta omelet & hash browns & pancakes and yummy coffee. A very cool place well worth a side-trip!
Review Source:A delightful coffee shop experience. Ohio House makes me feel so calm, quaint, and refined. My check-ins inspire instant envy in my friends from Hong Kong.
This is a coffee shop where you are seated. There is a leather binder that contains no women, but instead, delicious food and drink menus. When you order your drink, and I highly encourage you to sit here, relax, and have your drink here, it comes served on a cute little silver platter with a glass of water, spoon, and a tiny cookie. All the drinks that I'd had are fabulous - teas, iced teas, lattes, hot chocolate. The dessert case is a thing of beauty and sugar. The staff are an absolute delight. Plus, one time, they had bacon cinnamon rolls.
