We got married at the Fountainhead on August 17th, and it was our dream come true! Â We looked at several venues in the area, and the Fountainhead was by far superior and an unbeatable value!
From the very beginning, Andy was fantastic to work with. Â He accommodated our every request, no matter how minute. Â He met with us several times, answered all of our questions patiently, and returned phone calls promptly. Â Andy is extremely professional and reliable, and made sure every last detail was as promised. Â
Jessica, my bridal attendant, was a savior. Â Anything I needed, from early in the morning until the last guest left, she was one step ahead of me and could practically read my mind. Â
The food is absolutely spectacular at this venue. Â From the cocktail hour to the 4 course meal, everything was expertly prepared and presented beautifully. Â There is a huge selection to choose from, and the staff is very accommodating to any special dietary needs. Â We got a million compliments on how all of our guests loved the food! Â
The venue itself is gorgeous. Â We got married in the chapel upstairs, and the skylight added perfect lighting for all of our pictures. Â The cocktail hour space was big enough for our 200 guests to easily mix and mingle. Â The ballroom is breathtaking with a marble dance floor and many choices of colored uplighting.
Many of our family and friends have told us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to. Â We have Andy and the rest of the staff at the Fountainhead to thank. Â You all gave us the best night of our lives- we will be forever grateful!
If you are looking for a venue, look no further- for any occasion!
I attended a wedding here on 8/24/13. The space was gorgeous!
The upstairs atrium room where the wedding was held was beautifully appointed and had amazing light and was easily accessed by elevators or stairs. There was not a single technical hitch in the ceremony. There were lots of large, clean bathrooms within a short stroll on each level.
We were well received by a remarkably young, yet extremely professional staff from the moment we parked our cars, walked through the entrance and were lead into the receiving area. Whatever staff was hired for that day needs to be on their "go to every time" list. The shined throughout the cocktail hour and dinner service.
The cocktail hour food stations were excellent and even included a caviar and vodka bar. Now that's my kind of wedding reception! The food was expertly prepared and the portions were huge! The dinner bartender got all of the cocktails perfectly right. They even had a very good red wine choice for dinner. (I was really unimpressed with the white choice though). I know that catering halls can be hit or miss depending on the staff for the day, but we really hit the jackpot with the crew we had on 8/24. There was nothing to complain about. OK - Maybe the ridiculously loud MC who kept barking unnecessarily into the mic. But at least that didn't go on all night.
I'd definitely consider this hall for any sized event. Just try to find out who the team was on the day I was there. :)
I recently had my wedding at the Fountainhead and it was absolutely terrific!
I don't even know where to begin with my compliments... the entire process of planning the wedding was so stress-free for me and I credit so much of that to The Fountainhead.
A lot of people commented about how relaxed I was in the months leading up to the wedding and it's because I knew this venue was on-top of their game and would run everything perfectly (which they did).
I worked with Charles from the beginning and he made everything easy. He was open, never pushy and always smiling!
The Fountainhead was incredibly organized and laid out ideally. The staff is professional and carry themselves with pride. I don't think I've ever seen a wedding where everyone got their food at the same time... can't believe 250 people were handled with such ease.
The food itself, so amazing. My mom and I think they should have a restaurant set up in the room we had the tasting in, because the food was excellent and I don't want to have to wait for someone I know to get married there to be able to eat it again.
Food notes: Cocktail hour was sick! Caviar station = amazing and the craft beer and slider bar was a hit, too. And lots of passed hor'd eurvs, too. We chose the onion tart to start for the meal, which was a light, but flavorful, beautiful dish. I had the tilapia over couscous which I'd love to have again and the sorbet was so refreshing and not too sweet, a perfect summer dessert.
The cocktail hour atrium area is so nice, with arched glass. The main room is really nice and the marble dancefloor is so cool.
We had guests coming from all over the tri-state area and many were pleased with how convenient the location is and how easy it is to get there.
Also, they were very helpful in having any guests who drove, but then decided not to resist the open bar, to leave their cars in the lot overnight.
Every detail was covered and our best interest and the best interest of our guests was always kept in mind.
I had a truly amazing wedding and can't thank the Fountainhead enough!
What can I say? This is the only place for a wedding in Westchester. They can handle 150 -400 so size was never a problem. Â We had 250 - a size not easy to find space for.
Our daughter was married there last weekend. Â Let's start with having a beautiful venue without worry about what the weather will be. Then follow with possibly the best "deal" in the tri-state area. Â Full open bar for the entire night, 5 selected cocktail hour stations from a list of like 12 options. Â The best service anywhere, ever. Â If this was a restaurant, I would eat there regularly. The food was the best I have ever had at any wedding including Abigail Kirsch and others that cost 2x what The Fountainhead charges.
All the above combined with Charles' attention to detail kept us all stress-free.(No need for a wedding planner - another savings.) It showed on everyone's faces. I have been getting calls and emails non-stop since Saturday telling us how this was the most wonderful, happiest and most delicious wedding with everyone complimenting the service. Â The bride says she would not have changed a thing, that is the best review! Perfect.
Michael and his staff provided service par excellence. Thank you.
I volunteer to be a reference. Color me thrilled.
Beautiful wedding venue.
Beautiful cocktail hour with delicious food.
Main room was big and beautiful. For our dinner we had a really yummy pear salad, penne vodka and my entree was the filet mignon which was out of this world delicious.
Only real gripe was the AC was blasting and all the women were freezing!
Update ! Â Â
last October I sent an unfavorable review of Fountainhead . This was based primarily
on my displeasure with a scheduling glitch which resulted in guests waiting in an area I had requested we not use for cocktails... Although the guests were offered champagne, etc.. It was not the format or venue requested...and I was displeased.
In the months since the wedding, we have been able to reflect on what was excellent about the wedding... the food, the service and the ambience were, in fact, top notch. These elements are of course the primary ones in choosing.. I would hate to think that this long established business has sufferred losses due to my review. it was meant to be a cautionary note to others choosing venues that hold more than one event..
I do believe the management was not only contrite but genuinely upset at my response ( including the formerly posted review) . In fact, I had  2 perfect events at Fountainhead in past years and may use them once again for the next wedding.. hopefully sceduled for 2015....
It pays to take a deep breath before posting.. consider this a very long exhale !
I got married at the Fountainhead this past weekend. I seriously could not be happier with the decision to choose the FH as our venue!!!! SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD US THAT IT WAS THE BEST WEDDING THEYVE EVER BEEN TO!! My husband and I are extremely thorough people, and we must have researched 50 places or so. Visited several, and we knew that this was our venue the moment we walked in.
Highlights:
-If you aren't getting married in a Church or Temple, but want that "spiritual" feeling, this is one of the very few venues in the area that has a chapel to give you that "ceremony" feel. As an interfaith couple, this was very very important to us.
-Price is SO reasonable compared to other venues in the area!!! Only thing you lose out on is a "scenic view" (not on Hudson or Long Island Sound) BUT the HUGE skylights more than make up for it, and you are inside the whole time anyway (bonus: don't need to worry about weather!!).
-Charles was AMAZING to work with. Every bride wants to hear "yes" and "sure" to all of her requests, and Charles did just that. He was so organized and kept track of everything for months. He is someone you can really trust, which is extremely important when you aren't able to control and take care of every detail on your own. Charles was reliable and easygoing, major pluses when planning a wedding!!!
-My bridal assistant, Jessica, was so unbelievably amazing that I wanted to take her home with me. She made sure that we had everything we needed at all times. She got us sushi when we were being mobbed by guests at the cocktail hour, fixed my dress when it ripped at the bottom, kept track of SO MANY details all at once which was super impressive, etc. You can delegate any task to her, and you can count on her to follow through 100%.
-THE FOOD!!!! Wow, so many compliments. We heard it was good, but when we did our food tasting, we were BLOWN away. Salmon was the best salmon I've ever had, for example. Portions are large, taste is quality, presentation is exceptional, and combinations are unique. The cocktail hour has so many station options to choose from, and from what we hear from guests, it was overwhelmingly awesome.
-Overall, the whole atmosphere is elegant and classy. Countless guests said it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and that it was the classiest wedding they've ever been to. The ceiling, marble dance floor, tables, place settings, draped curtains, etc. all contribute to a quality feel.
-Extra details: They light up the walls and ceiling in the ballroom (many colors to choose from or it can rotate through) and they DON'T charge you extra! (Many places do!!) Dance floor is a gorgeous marble, so much better than outdated wood.
Never again! Â Attended a large and pricey formal event at The Fountainhead. Â When we went into the dining room for the main course, I told the waitress who came to our table that I had a tomato allergy and asked if it was okay to select the beef option. Â She obviously understood what I was saying because I got a special salad without tomatoes. Â But there had to have been tomatoes in the dressing and/or sauce that was served with steak because by the time I left I had an awful rash. Â
Strike 2...When I got my coat back it reeked of cigar smoke. Â It didn't smell that way when I checked it - I don't smoke, none of my friends smoke, and I don't stand near people who smoke. Â I would have thought the attendants would have put jackets that smelled like smoke in a separate area - but I guess they decided to put one next to mine instead. Â Smell was so bad that I had to bring to cleaners the next morning.
Strike 3...The valet company hired by The Fountainhead did $1,800 worth of damage to my almost new car. Â While there were not any cameras, several witnesses saw my car when I arrived and that it was in perfect condition. Â It was obvious from the damage (fender pushed in, part of bumper dented) that they had backed another car into mine. Â Charles, the banquet manager, talked me out of my gut instinct to file a police report. Â He apologized, said that accidents happen, and that The Fountainhead would "take care of it"...and like a fool I believed him. Â I was initially very nice and patient, but also anxious to get this resolved because I was worried that if it rained/snowed water would get into the headlight and make the situation worse. Â After a few days Charles informed me that I would have to deal directly with the valet company THEY contracted and he could do nothing to help. Â After an equally bad experience trying to deal with the valet co that ended with me going through my insurance to cover the repairs, The Fountainhead decided they wanted to be involved again. Â This time it was Andy, the general manager. Â He told me that he wanted to do the right thing and that I would be reimbursed my deductible. Â I waited patiently for my check, only to find out there was a catch...they wanted me to sign a waiver that violated my insurance policy (basically forfeiting my carrier's rights to try to recoup the money they paid toward my claim). Â When I tried to explain why I wasn't going to/couldn't do this and asked that he work with the valet co to amend the waiver, Andy got really rude and nasty. Â In the end, I never got a dime and had to cover the $500 deductible myself.
Given management's poor customer service and dishonesty, along with their unwillingness to take any sort of responsibility for companies they contract with, I would definitely not recommend this venue! Â With this kind of example, it is no wonder that the servers, kitchen staff, and coat checkers were also careless.
My husband and I attended a wedding at The Fountainhead for a friend of ours. Â The interior of this venue is very nice. Â Not ornate or over-the-top often found in suburban banquet halls. Â It was very classy with a lovely atmosphere and a sweet ceremony room with a skylight. Â In addition, the event was staffed well with friendly servers, bartenders and attendants. Â We really felt we were well taken care of (there's your one star)....except in the kitchen!!!
This place has the absolute WORST FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE. Â I was initially impressed by the large selection during the cocktail hour. Â I tried several different items, yet everything I tried was terrible. Â I met up with several friends at this wedding, with whom I spent much of the evening. Â After selecting a variety from the cocktail buffet, we all seemed to pick at our food, leaving our plates mostly untouched. Â None of us returned for seconds, despite having all agreed earlier that we were all hungry.
For dinner, we were offered a choice from 4 items on the menu. Â Between the 6 of us, we ordered all 4 choices. Â Mine was absolutely inedible. Â How on earth can you screw up chicken breast with mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy? Â I was starving at this point, having eaten almost nothing during the cocktail hour, yet, after 2 bites of my meal, I pushed it away. Â I have never, ever tasted such dried out chicken or such disgusting gravy in my life. Â My husband, who NEVER complains, leaned over to me and said about his beef, "I can't eat this crap". Â My friend's girlfriend noticed us chatting about our dinners and she leaned across the table and said, "Does yours suck too? Â My salmon is gross. Â I'm so hungry and I can't eat this". Â Half way thru the dinner service, the girl sitting next to me whispered in my ear, "I don't want to be rude but is your food OK because mine is terrible". Â When the waiter cleared plates away, we noticed dozens of plates from other tables full of food.
If waiters are bringing back full plates of food, there's a problem in the kitchen. Â This venue is clearly busy, probably with several events booked per week. Â This venue clearly is aware of the of the problem. Â It's simple: THEY DON'T CARE. Â How sad.
P.S. We stopped for pizza on the way home.
It's a great place to have a wedding or any big family and friends party. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very decadent but classic. Everything is maintained very very well, the dance floor was well polished, and the desserts room was such a nice touch. It was flooded with natural light and little glass tables with seating everywhere.
Not 100% sure if the DJ is provided or suggested by the Fountainhead, but do not under estimate him. He is dorky and older looking, but his music rocks. He played everything from the twist to Mike Snow.
The bar tender was very knowledgable and made drinks quick and very well-not too strong nor weak and not overly sugary or anything. First Class.
The only thing holding me back from the fifth star is just the staff not smiling... although they are all friendly and helpful they all looked so bored with long faces, they are part of the party too and they should be happy to serve a fine crowd.
BEST WEDDING FOOD EVER EVER EVER!!!! If you are planning a NYC wedding and tasty and abundant food is your #1 priority, this is your place! My husband and I attended a high school gal pal's wedding back in April. The fact that this place is in New Rochelle set my expectations high, but nothing prepared me for the dining we experienced at the Fountainhead. Following the lovely ceremony in the adorable upstairs chapel, there were appetizers as far as the eye could see downstairs during happy hour...antipastos, cheese, veggie fruit platter, but also several hot dishes such as shrimp risotto, sausage and peppers, calzone slices. I mean we are talking about 5-6 tables of appetizers!!! Then, there in the grand reception hall, we were served 3 courses amidst a great party. The icing on the cake, literally, was the venetian tables. At the end of the wedding, there was 4-5 tables of desserts...chocolate fountain, cookies, creme brulee, cakes, tarts, fudge, and of course wedding cake!
Only major complaint about this place is mandatory valet parking. In the words of Gollum, "We Hates It".
I have to agree with the review by Tommy.
My son and daughter-in-law got married there on March 17, 2012. We know about their good reputation. We know they give you lots of food for the money. We know it's a pretty place. We expected value for the $$ and got it.
Here's what we didn't expect... service to the 9's. They took care of the wedding party like you would expect at The Ritz. Anytime we needed something, Michael his assistant, or Patricia, were always there. It was as if they knew every time we needed them. Â All I can say is wow. Professional, and over the top.
All of our guest couldn't believe how much food there was at the cocktail hour. Would have been nice if this father of the groom could have enjoyed it a little more!
Anthony at the bar took care of me too. I brought a couple of special bottles, and he was johnny on the spot with glasses and anything else I needed.
Everyone talks about the place and the food. The service was impeccable. It's all about doting the I's and crossing the T's. This team delivered 110%.
My Wife and I recently got married here. This place is responsible for us having the greatest wedding ever. They were very reasonably priced (For a party of 65 people) We've had family members come and tell us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to (and they're honest enough that they weren't just placating us)
The Building:
The chapel and the reception area are in the same complex and they're both beautiful. Skylight in the Chapel, huge reception area. Very classy. Huge room for the bride to get ready, smaller room for the Groom to sit and be nervous in with his friends.
The photographer took several pictures of us in the Lobby and outside. You would never guess it's in New Rochelle from the look of them.
The Food:
Amazing.
We'll start with the complimentary breakfast spread they had for us that had Coffee, Orange Juice, Rolls, Muffins, Croissants, etc. Completely unexpected and a nice surprise for all of our guests.
They gave us a menu to choose from as everyone would have a three course meal and everything we chose came out stellar.
For appetizers we had Mushroom Ravioli. The entree choices were Fillet Mignon, Glazed Salmon, and Wild Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast. My wife and I had the Fillet Mignon and it was great. Desert was a Brownie Souffle. They threw in a salad for free for us and it was also good.
Sadly I'm not very skilled at reviewing things, especially food, so I'm probably understating how good the food really is. It was amazing. Not one person in our group was dissatisfied.
They also had one of the best cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres we have ever had. Excellent cheese selection, excellent Pigs in a Blanket, my only lament is that my wife and I were much to busy interacting with everyone to truly enjoy it as much as we wanted (I'm sure the same can be said for all brides and grooms during their wedding)
The Staff:
Amazing service. The director was always present ensuring everything was running smoothly. The Maitre D kept all of the events flowing. Best of all was Patricia who was our wedding aid. She was like a wedding Ninja. She was always there when we needed help. In fact she was there *before* we knew we needed help. The minute we turned around to look for her, not only was she there but she already knew what we needed. It was kinda scary how on the ball she was.
My wife and I had a video game themed wedding (we're huge nerds.) We were worried that may be something the staff wouldn't "get" and would have trouble presenting everything (centerpieces, music, Â cake etc) the way we wanted. They actually presented it all better then we envisioned.
I know it seems like I'm heaping praise upon praise without giving any kind of critical counter balance and I know a lot of people like to think of their weddings as the best thing ever. But I really can't think of one bad thing to say about this place.
If you ever plan on getting married and need an option, look no further then The Fountainhead. We seriously have no regrets.
We hosted my daugter's wedding at the Fountainhead on August 22. I was surprised that my daughter had picked this venue, although it is local - I thought she would pick one of the beach clubs. I went with her to look at the property and the menus and I was pleasantly surprised at the level of courtesy and attention that was provided during the initial discussions. I wondered if they could actually deliver all they promised. Did they ever!!! We have received so many phone calls from guests who said they had the "best wedding ever", including one of our friends who is like the Olympic judge of wedding receptions. I have never seen so much food at a cocktail hour in my life, not to mention the freshness and the beautiful presentation. Exceptional attention to detail was noted in the presentation of the banquet room and personalized attention for the bride. My daughter definitely did not want hotel food as she is a very picky eater. She made the right choice as all of Fountainhead's food and baked goods are prepared onsite. From cocktail hour to the main course selections to dessert to gelato send-off everything was perfect. Â One extra: Fountainhead has a select vendor list for Florists and music. The choices were excellent! We chose Arcadia Florist in Mamaroneck for our flowers which were a work of art and Big Apple DJ's in Larchmont who kept everyone up and dancing all night. Now that's a party. Trust me -we never missed the beach for a minute.
Review Source:So I was here last night for a wedding-- a wedding for two people I didn't know. I didn't want to go to this impromptu wedding but my parents had RSVPd and I find it rather rude to RSVP for two but show up as one. So with a couple of hour's notice, I got a pedicure, quickly showered, and squeezed myself into that purple dress that accentuates my most secret feature: my mammary glands.
Regardless we made it to The Fountainhead with 10 or so minutes to spare before the ceremony and we were herded in like cattle-- totally okay because this place is BEAUTIFUL. Not overly stuffy, just so pretty and luminous. The chapel had skylights, not a huge room, but it fit all of the guests. The Rabbi went quickly (thank the G man, I have no patience for a long ceremony between two people I've never met before), and then: COCKTAIL HOUR.
So much food. So many options. There was sushi. Lots of sushi. And just deliciousness all around. The best part:
OH, I DON'T KNOW-- A LUGE?!
The Russians were confused at first. But they saw many bottles of vodka surrounding said luge so once they figured it out, you couldn't get those old men away. Precious. On either side of the luge was smoked salmon being cut super thin by an unhappy looking woman. On the other side was caviar galore. I love Russians.
I've had better Long Island Iced Teas but it was also an open bar, I'm still underage, and I wasn't driving so really--beggars can't be choosers.
The main hall was, once again, beautiful. Big, open space, nicely decorated but not overly so. I think the bride and groom made a fantastic choice.
Now onto the food:
The staff was excellent-- for the most part. Except when they went around asking for drink orders and though I asked for a white wine, she tried to give me red wine first. And even though my dad asked for a cognac and a coke with lemon and ice, he was given cognac.. with coke poured in.
That's truly disgusting.
Appetizer was okay, I didn't care for the grilled veggies in the Phylo dough. The asiago breadstick was tasty, but the other grilled veggies and mixed greens were just too salty. No matter, but you know why?
Enormous serving of filet mignon. Cooked perfectly at medium rare. With a delicious potato croquet. Fried onions were also a bit too salty but I just pushed those aside. Ugh, so good. I couldn't finish my meat, THAT'S how big the portion was.
The Viennese table was orgasmic. Chocolate fountains, cannolis (YES CANNOLIS BITCHES), creme brulee, assorted cookies and pastries, and ice cream, and just sugary heaven.
I passed out in the car.
But not before listening to some crazy ass Russian woman sing Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. Oh yea, listening to Umbrella with a thick Russian accent isn't something to be missed by anyone. Minus a full star for the LOUD ass music. It wasn't enjoyable in the slightest unless you were on the dance floor-- something I can't do all night.
Weddings make me kind of sad to be single. But I'm no longer at the wedding. I'm in my pajamas, in my messy room, looking equally as messy, not worried about impressing anyone.
Amazing place.
The Fountainhead (FH) was one of the sites that I went to check out with my fiance as a potential hall for our wedding reception. Â Although, I opted for someplace else it was not due to any fault on part of the Fountainhead. Â We just decided on a particular theme wedding instead. Â The halls at the FH are very beautiful as they've just completed a $5 million dollar renovation and they certainly have a well known and well earned reputation for their service and professionalism. Â We looked at nearly a dozen different places but FH always stayed at the forefront of our mind because of the quality and caliber of service that they offered. Â Nobody else is as flexible and willing to accomodate you as they are and their prices are very reasonable as well.
By the way, they're not strictly a wedding site and the FH is actually a landmark in New Rochelle and generations have used their site for their confirmations, bar mitzbahs, etc...
