Definitely recommend this place for those looking for a tasty yet casual dining experience. We ordered the Fritto Mito and pepperoni pizza. Both were so delicious! We also had a bottle of the house Pinot Grigio, Frankie Takes The Fifth which was only priced at $19.95. The decor is pretty awesome too. We sat on the indoor patio with checkered table clothes and red umbrellas. Great service from Wes!
Review Source:Been to Frankie's at least 30 times over the past 3 years. Â Visited again this weekend for the first time in 6 months.
Here's what you should know...
-Parking is great. Â Enter after 5pm and leave by 2am, and its $5 with validation from dinner. Â You can't park anywhere near that part of the Mag Mile for that price.
-You can eat inside the the main dining room for a fancier feel, or in their patio area (which is still indoors.) Â The food and prices are identical, but at lunch time the bread they serve is different. Â Small detail - but they serve some very yummy crackers in the bread basket with a delicious flavored butter if you sit the patio area for lunch.
-The service here either makes or breaks your meal. Â We used to have the same server when we were going frequently. Â She left, and since then we have found our meal consistency varies greatly as does the service. Â As a result, we don't eat here as much anymore.
-Love the Chicken Parm, but I get pasta with alfredo versus normal spaghetti. Â Every time we come one of us gets the Baked Spaghetti. Â Definitely our favorite dish. Â Just ask for a middle piece so it does not have burnt corners. Â Pizza is good, but not enough cheese. Â And they do Filet Mignon surprisingly well. Â Tomato Bisque might best I have had anywhere - and its a soup I try anywhere and everywhere it is offered. Â For dessert, we love the deep dish cookie and ice cream.
-We like Lettuce Entertain You restaurants - so we enjoy getting points for our meals here.
-Big Frankie is often in the restaurant and mingles with tables.
Great wine list! Fabulous bread. SALADS ARE SOOOOO GOOOD! I had the tuna salad and it was great - not too heavy but by no means skimpy. Dressings were incredible also - I had the lemon and Dijon vinaigrette. Wish they bottled that stuff.
Took a while for the server to notice us... I mean, a LOOONNGGGG time. And we had to ask her for EVERYTHING. No wait, we had to ask someone to ask her for EVERYTHING. She was totally checked out and it was annoying because we really wanted to just grab a quick lunch before we hit the Thanksgiving weekend sales at Bloomingdales.
Other than that, I love Frankie's! Great place to grab lunch while embracing consumerism at all the awesome shopping at the Bloomingdales building :)
