Freemans Restaurant

My friends and I came here for an intimate dinner over some specialty cocktails one rainy evening. As I made the trek over from working late that evening, cocktails were exactly what I was looking forward to, despite hearing rave reviews about the food. It was my first time at Freemans and I was a little wary going into a dark ally all on my lonesome... but I assure you, you'll enjoy what's waiting for you up ahead.

As Will and I were seated by the bar waiting for our two other friends, the love birds to arrive, I had some time to soak in my surroundings. Cozy, and dimly yet romantically lit, all the rooms had numerous antlers and mirrors decorating the somewhat rustic walls which I found to be surprisingly charming.  As we enjoyed our cocktails, our names were finally called and we were brought to our table upstairs.

From the exterior, Freemans looks like it's small, little establishment, but there are two levels and many separate rooms- perfect for exploring each time you come! We shared the worthwhile Devils on Horseback and were sad when we demolished the plate in record time. As I wasn't particularly hungry, I ordered the Steamed PEI Mussels which was made with spring onion butter, chili, white wine with a side shoestring potatoes appetizer and it was an ample sizing of deliciousness. My friends all ordered the Seared Filet Mignon and we all walked away extremely satisfied with our choices.

I look forward to coming again soon, for drinks, and also to try the food menu more extensively. Freemans has everything I love about hidden New York restuarant / bars- a homey and stylish ambiance, with delicious food and a solid cocktail menu.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place...especially for it's decor and the whole establishment. Like most of others wrote about this place, the atmosphere is great, it's both good for gathering with friends and dating.

There were 3 of us coming here for dinner, we had Mussels, Soup of the Day, Grilled Shrimp, Watermelon Salad, Roast Trout and side dish Broccoli. All the dish was delicious and our server was also very good. I suppose we were very lucky, cuz the food came very quickly, we didn't really have to wait much. I could imagine this place could get busy and slow down the services.

Nothing to complain at all, a MUST come back!
