I was meeting a girlfriend for dinner and wanted something a little funky and fun. Lucky Strike was a great choice! It's definitely got an old French feel. The bar is bronze, menus are written on old mirrors. The bar is small, but the rest of the space is decent. It opens up in the back.

We were there for hours. Their happy hour specials are pretty awesome. I got three glasses of wine for four dollars. No, that's not the special, I'll explain further. I ordered one glass of red at the bar - $4. We were then seated and the server asked if I wanted another one. I did. He then completely forgot and apologetically brought the next one on the house. My third glass was free because they needed to move us over to the next table to accommodate a bigger party. SCORE. Service was great and he was so generous and kind to make up for the inconveniences.

My girlfriend and I ordered the mussels for appetizer. They were actually quite spectacular. It's the soupy tomato goodness that drenches the shells that completely made the dish. I loved it, in fact I'm aching for it right now.

I ordered the butter steak medium rare and substituted fries for garlic spinach. The steak was pretty good, but I've had better. I'm not sure I like the heavy butter flavor. Spinach was delicious and a large portion for a side.

Overall, this place is fun and the food is pretty good. Table seating is dense, so it gets a bit loud when the seats fill up. I'd definitely come again and it's conveniently located for me!

I work just around the corner from this place, which has become a lunchtime staple. The back room is bright and lively without being too loud. Perfect place for two on a lunch hour! I find it strange that this place is labelled "French" because I've only ordered very American dishes.

The prices are a little high for what you get--the 2 crabcakes for $12 are TINY, but good. I normally go for the $14 Chicken Sandwich (partly because of the generous portion of shoestring fries, partly because I can save half the sandwich and eat it for lunch tomorrow. It isn't great--the chicken is dry and burnt tasting. The sausage rigatoni is my true favorite--but I always end up eating it in one sitting, so I try to indulge only every once in awhile.

I also remember coming here for happy hour once. Decent specials and prices, and the wait staff is helpful. I'll keep coming back, that's for certain.

Came here instead of another restaurant that was close by primarily because this place didn't seem very pretentious.  The atmosphere was low-key, casual but vibrant at the same time.  The lighting gave the place a good ambience, too.  I ordered the
Steak Au Poivre and I was wishing I had the recipe afterwards.  The sauce was plate lick worthy.  I usually don't eat fries but those were delicious as well especially with the sauce.  No ketchup needed.  When I go back to NYC I hope this plate lives up to the memory of it.
