The food was wonderful. We had a party of 25 on a Friday night for our Rehearsal Dinner, I had spoke with the Chef a few days before and they did not restrict the menu, he told us just to be patient with the food coming out. We used their event room and the service was fantastic! Drinks were always full and everyone's tummy was full! Can't wait to go back!
Review Source:We took a day trip to Columbus, bored on a winter Saturday. We were impressed with the menu so we went inside. Our waitress was delightful and friendly. We had the best cheesesticks I've had in my life. I don't even like buffalo sauce but these cheesesticks were made of a mixture of blue cheese and cheddar, rolled in buffalo sauce, and breaded. They were incredible! I had a patty melt and my husband had a pork tenderloin. Both were very very good. The patty melt tasted like the ones my mom used to make. Every thing was fresh and you get plenty of food for what you pay for. I also had a Grown up cherry cola. Actually, I'm not sure what it was called but it had black cherry vodka and vanilla vodka in it mixed with Cola. Yum! We really enjoyed our lunch and will be back the next time we are in Columbus. I could see us going down there just for some live music which happens at the Garage pub as well. What a great little town!
Review Source:Meh...it's truly fine. Â The food is edible, if not particularly creative or exciting.
For bar food - well, it's about what one would expect. Â On a good day, certainly fits the bill; never-the-less, nothing special.
Expect to fight for a table  during the summer or if IU is on break, or during the usual 'college weekends'....If you're female and not 13, expect that will mean being called "Ma'am"  at every turn.
Frankly, while there's nothing wrong with the food or service, it's just not worth it most Thursdays - Saturdays. Â During the week, it's welcome variety compared to local places serving pork tenderloin sammies.
This is the best bar food in Columbus!! Â My favorite wings, great salads, awesome wraps. Â Great drinks too. Â Also, a non-smoking bar with outside seating. Â Many times you can give your feedback to an owner. Â That is what I like in a locally owned restaurant!! Â
This place has really improved in the last six months.
I Â went here on a guys night out while our wives were at their book club. I have only been here once before right after it opened and thought is was a work in process. Well time marches on, my friend recommended the brisket sandwich and it didn't disappoint. It is big (enough for 2 people with normal appetites) and messy, but boy was it good. The onion rings were pretty pedestrian and I thought the beer selection was uninspired. I am giving them a 4 star but more like 3.5.
Review Source:After the Indy Mini my boyfriend and I traveled to Brown Co to go hiking and have an extended weekend. Â We drove around Columbus looking for dining options and spotted a very unassuming bar, which just happened to be The Garage. Â Food was ok, he had a flatbread pizza which was and I had a chicken wrap. Â Some of the appetizers looked pretty tasty. Â The outdoor seating was nice and the waiter was personable. Â Will be back when we are back in town.
Review Source:The Garage has become a gathering place in downtown Columbus for having a drink with friends. Beer is cold, staff is friendly, atmosphere is typical pub. Food is so-so. I'm trying to find something I really like after several visits. Best I found is the veggie quesadilla, but one must tell the cook to go easy on the oil. Otherwise it comes "floating" in oil. Outdoor seating in spring and fall is nice, but lack of shade makes summer seating too hot. Good place for socializing.
Review Source:This place is OK but that is about all I can say. Â The only thing that really stood out about it was the irritating heavy metal and rock music they played which didn't seem conducive to trying to eat and enjoy someone's company. Â We got decent service so there were no complaints there. Â The food was passable but not impressive. Â I got a Rueben and had to send it back because they forgot the Thousand Island dressing. Â Kinda hard to have an authentic Rueben without it. My companion got a steak which wasn't bad. There were lots of people there so apparently this is a really happening place in Columbus. I don't see myself returning.
Review Source:I've been here once and don't see myself returning anytime soon. It was Sunday lunch during collage basketball playoffs. Few customers. Good service. The food was expensive. $9 for a tenderloin and fries. I've had better for sure but it wasn't terrible. Great place to watch a game. Nice spot for outdoor seating.
Review Source:As a Columbus, Indiana resident, I thought it would be best to visit this restaurant a few times before giving it a poor rating--I was hoping to have a positive experience to offset the negative ones. Â Well, my third experience was as bad as the first two. Â Skip this restaurant. Â Here's why: Â service is HORRIBLE. Â Be prepared to wait at all times in your dining experience. Â Food is marginal at best. Â For a restaurant that advertises great hamburgers, I found them to have buns that were hard and stale. Â On my last visit I ordered the battered fish. Â I received dry, overcooked charcoal pieces. Â The only positive thing that i can say about this restaurant is that the waitress was very good at apologizing; I am sure that this skill was perfected with significant practice! Â SKIP THIS ONE!
Review Source:So before I had rated this place with a 1-star. Â Now, after only a few weeks of new management I already have to re-rate.
This is much more of a bar now... live music, games, staying open late if there is a crowd and a jukebox. Â It is a much better place all around. Â They are busy at lunch and have the most outdoor seating in the downtown area. Â
The service is still getting better but still not the best. Â The bartenders are still great, new management is friendly and actually not only receptive to customer feedback, but also is appreciative of it! Â At this rate, things should be much better in the coming months.. looking forward to it. Â Will be checking back soon!
It's always nice to come back home and notice something new and exciting in the city. I met up with a couple of friends at The Garage on two different occasions.
First off, I liked how simple the name of the place was. It's basically a bar located right under the newly built parking garage in downtown, hence "The Garage". The service was exceptional and the people who work there are incredibly friendly. The list of alcohol was decent but they were lacking on the craft beers section. I was told the place is owned by the person who ran Cork Liquors so they had every imaginable spirits there. They even have cigars! Crazy!
I haven't tried their food yet but my friend ordered a Chicken Quesidilla and he said it tasted like a chicken pot pie? What's that all about? He still ate it regardless...
Other than that, the place was spacious and they had some patio seating, which is always nice in the summer time!
