Just finished a cool night at the Garage, its what it is a place you can get fixed and laid back. The decor is old and industrial with the signature oversize ceiling fan. Tonite was poet slam and the room was full of good vibes and spliting verbs, just dam good poets. Thre beer selection and beverage choice was varied an plentiful, sound system was strong but not loud or ear spliting, over all the place is a go to when you just want to hang out and have a good time
Review Source:I attended a concert at the Garage on a Saturday night in the early fall of 2010. Â The decor is just that, an old garage, with that attendant industrial theme in a high-ceilinged cinder block building. Â The sound system is very good, plenty loud without permanent hearing loss. Â Several large industrial fans kept the place cool. Â The beer selection was excellent, with several NC craft brews on tap as well as the obligatory "domestics". Â There was a full bar and the prices were reasonable for drinks in Winston-Salem. Â The Garage is hoping to be part of a larger night-life music scene in the 6th street area with other venues (I've heard) moving in soon).
