Garrett's.... You may not have heard of it, but you know where it is: 65th and Nieman, where too many bars have gone to die. I hope this one sticks around.
In its most recent reincarnation, Garrett's is a neighborhood bar, in a fairly blue collar neighborhood. Â Much like its predecessors (Skeeters, Hawg Wild, etc), it's very basic, with bar stools, pool table, TVs, and perhaps something you could call a small dancing area and stage.
I popped in twice: once to see if any changes had been made (new ownership.....that's about all that I could 'see'), and another to check out the karaoke. YAY for Stars and Bars and one of my fave KJs, Cindy.
Drinks were priced fairly, service was as expected, as I'd seen the bartender Dave working at other nearby bars previously. Â I rarely eat bar food anymore, given some of my recent experiences, but I imagine it's about like most bar food.
Will update when it gets all settled in and is opened for a bit. :) Â They do seem to have a good crowd when I've driven by.
Smoking is allowed on the patio.
