Anything you could possibly want for brunch. Â Who doesn't want a spam omelet and a glass of mimosa? It sounds crazy but the 1940's omelet with spam, potatoes, and onions topped with cheese wiz is amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Â It is a little pricey and is always packed. Â Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends but it is well worth it.
Review Source:In the past, avoided this place due to the MASSIVE amount of people waiting outside for a table. (On the weekend) When I finally sucked it up to check it out, I was initially pleased at the quirky interior (just as quirky and cute as the exterior)
When I scanned the menu I found LOCO MOCO! Oh my! I love loco moco, a famous dish in Hawaii made of white rice, hamburger, brown gravy and a fried egg. They also have the Hoosier loco moco where the starch can be swapped with cheesy grits or potatoes. You can also choose....SPAM! Yes! I went for the Hoosier loco moco with cheesy grits, SPAM, and two fried eggs in the country gravy.
The SPAM was tough. How is this possible? The dish was still pretty good, but not great.
On the next visit, I just had to give the Hoosier loco another shot. With SPAM again because, I mean, come on. How many dishes in any restaurant have this wonderful meat as a star?
Better this time. SPAM was still a bit rubbery. Service was quick, friendly-ish. Still a freaking CUTE place. Will try it out again and will try the traditional loco moco next time, or maybe a "normal" breakfast item. Who knows? Will update.
I came here with my sisters and mother smack-dab in the middle of the breakfast rush on a Sunday. We were quoted 20 minutes, and were seated within the 20 minutes. The waitress was nice and very helpful, even when the kitchen messed up our toast orders, and when my sister's eggs came out over easy and not over-medium.
The only detraction I have is that we saw was that the hostess walked back behind the wall that separates the kitchen from the floor (we were seated at a 4-top right by the bathroom door and could see behind this wall) and stuck her hands down her pants to...? I am not sure, but its a good thing she was only the hostess..
Anyhow--the food was good and the menu intriguing with its crazy combos. I would come back again to try out some different items.
