Very cute dive in bar but they're missing something.. PEOPLE.
The strangest, grimiest people go to this cute joint. Or like older business men looking for  spicy latinas. The drinks are a little pricey and the music is a little lame. It would be better if more people went and it wasn't just me and my friend staring at girls in crocs doing the 'Harlem Shake". Con los terrorista!
But definitely check it out! The bartenders are nice!
I think if you ask people "Have you  been to The Goose Lounge?" they'll respond with 'What is that?"
I don't know how to feel about this place yet. Â It's got a nice space with cool art, but it's always dead inside. I've been here a couple times on different days of the week and there just never seems to be anyone inside.
It's got a lot of potential because the drink prices are ok, the DJ plays pretty good music, and they even have $1 pool games.
I hate super crowded places, but being at a bar with 2 other people on a Friday night doesn't cut it either.
I really like this place. The inside is very nice with plenty of space. Almost too much space for the grove which has become somewhat of a ghost town. They have a small stage for live music and a dj booth. They offer a wide selction of craft beers decently priced. They also have a pool table in the back area which is fun. You can also smoke inside since they don't serve food. Easily one of my favorite new spaces in the grove.
Review Source:When this place first opened, I figured that it would be a great addition to the Grove; the decor is great, and I was glad the Grove got another bar in the area. Â The service, on the other hand, Â is very 'blah' and only get's me more upset that they include an 18% gratuity charge on the bill. Â The crowd can get a bit ghetto at times, too, which is exactly what the Grove doesn't need again. Â They also tend to be out of a lot of stuff when you order. Â The prices are also just way to high, and I kind of feel they're trying to rip you off completely. Â I ordered a vodka on ice and they gave me a glorified shot glass and charged me $10....not cool. Â The live music is a great touch and gives this place a pretty good vibe when there's a band. Â I heard they have a reggae night, and I'd like to catch that some time. Â Overall, this place has got a lot of potential, but they need to fit into the Grove mold a bit more. Â Lowering their prices on drinks and realizing they're not on South Beach would be a great start. Â Also, catering to that ghetto crowd can only bring trouble in the long run. Â I get that the people that work there invite their friends and stuff, and that's cool, but The Goose seems to be treading a very thin line that can soon take them to straight up "Hood-ville" and they'll never get away from that.....I seem to remember Baja getting that reputation way back in the day and never shaking it off no matter how many times they changed the name. Â I may seem to not like the place, but I actually see all the potential it has. Â A few more drink specials and a couple of tweaks here and there and this place could really make it. Â I'll go back a few more times for sure.
Review Source:Place was empty three weeks ago on a Saturday night. If they don't do something quick they will go out of business. Too bad because the place has potential. Just needs more bodies. They had a DJ that played mediocre 80s music but cranked up the party vibe after 11:00 pm. The pork sliders were very good and the rest best of the food was average. Â There are a lot of good reviews on this site...maybe I hit on off night and maybe it would have been better if they had a live band.
Review Source:Last Friday was my first time there, I loved the place firstly because of the Rasta's performing live reggae music. Secondly, the great choice of beers ranging in price from $4-$8. They have about 70?? It's a cool spot in coconut groove were you can have a few beers, play pool and listen to great music. This is of course if the Heat aren't playing, since apparently that's very important...
Only dislike is the 18% tip included in the bill (which i guess i understand)
And, begin...
I was out celebrating Cinco De Mayo and The Wolfe suggested this "new" bar, located where Starbucks used to be in the heart of Coconut Grove. Adjacent to Johnny Rockets. Good stuff.
1. Cool decor, layout, color schemes, and design. Score.
2. I love the connectivity to this bar / lounge, you can enter on one side and duck out another, on an entirely different block. Excellent if you want to duck out the back / front to make a rapid escape (which I often do). Very cool. Score.
3. Ordered the hummus with the bromance and it exceed expectation, especially priced at $6. Score. Nice presentation, too. They put some thought into the menu and the loungey fare, and I saw an "executive chef" identified on the menu.
4. Marcelo / Marcus, our bartender, was a wealth of info about their specials and whatnot, and he bought us a festive shot of tequila. Score.
5. I love the artwork (check my Pinterest boards to see more) and the whole gig, looking forward to checking the place out on a busy evening. Loungey leather chairs throughout is a-nice, too. Score.
6. Chicken Tacos (2) were a happy hour special and came beautifully presented and totally delicious for $6. Very filling. Wish I had two right now!
Score!
Cabeza Out
I liked the selection of beers...but the service is wanting...and the prices are steep
I am not a great fan of the Grove and since it is smack in the middle of the Grove-I was hesitant and expecting a Fat Tuesday 2.0
Yet, the decor, pool table, and Saturday night DJ (who was definitely a surprise), exceeded my expectations.
a gangsters paradise :-(
the goose actually has a great wine and beer selection,as well as an interesting food menu- but it looks sounds and feels like a strip club.
maybe its just me but i had a hard time sippin' my moscato and listening to 2 live crew.
perhaps it was "ed hardy" night? maybe the music is different and played at a normal volume so one can hold a conversation?
dunno-maybe i'm too old for this crap and this place rocks.
Had been wanting to check this place out for awhile...but somehow it felt a bit short.
Nice selection of beers and wines...good appetizers and great 2x1 happy hour but the service is so so...
Even though the place was kinda dead for a Wednesday night, after a few rounds, our waiter totally forgot about us...not good. Â
This place had great potential, hopefully the service will improve.
We were intrigued by the reviews on Yelp about the Goose Lounge.  The happy hour, some of the food, and the selection of beer at the Goose was pretty amazing.  2 for 1 drafts, and there were a pretty good variety of craft brews.  We really wanted to have the Guacamole but the kitchen was having a n issue with avocados that were not ripe enough.  The two dishes that we settled on instead were the Deconstructed Jalapeño Poppers and Fire and Ice.  The poppers were quite delicious, especially with the beers. The Fire and Ice...nobody needs their version of it in their life. Skip it.
Review Source:So far, I really like this place. It's a bit dark but ok for a bar. We had the guacamole and chips which was delicious, they make it with chunks of pineapple which adds a nice flavor and texture. Also had the onion rings, they were typical Onion rings but good since you could tell they were made to order. The bruschetta trio was good as well. They had the traditional with parmesan cheese and diced tomatoes, the mozzarela tomato and balsamic was delicious and made with good mozzarella, and the surprise was the caramelized onions with blue cheese. I am not a big blue cheese fan but really liked the combination. They have a huge beer selection and a decent wine selection. I wish they served liquor but I will go back for the food for sure.
ADDITION!!!
I went back and had the almond, berry and mixed green salad with a lime vinaigrette. This is one of the best salads I've had in a while!! They caramelize the sliced almonds and  the vinaigrette is a good contrast to the sweetness of the berries and almonds. It is delicious and only $7!!! LOVE IT!
It's great to see the Grove get a bar that knows its beer. They've got a huge craft beer selection, and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about their beer. Service is great, and they have REALLY good food. The fried Yuca is amazing!
If it wasn't for the loud music, I could easily spend 3-4 hours hanging out here. The volume is always a bit too loud, even on weeknights--it's really tough to have a conversation if you're sitting anywhere inside.
Other than that, awesome place. I've been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and will definitely will be back soon.
Ramadan to the Muslims is to The Goose Lounge to beer fanatics. And how is that you ask.
1. You have to go at least once in your lifetime.
2. You have to go to Mecca to perform these religious experiences.
Saudi Arabia has there Mecca, Miami Florida has the fanatical Beeries (once called Aleians, until Steven Spielberg) The Goose, as there Mecca.
See Yelp has helped me solve world peace, through alcohol. Maybe if I send my review to them they won't be so angry all the time. Or maybe if they hit Miami's little Mecca "The Goose" they'd figure out what many already know. Beer, Love, Old Rock n Roll and a talent for BS.
I didn't even bring any swine products out on the for front because  I am sensitive to the fact that not everyone who doesn't eat pork, straps a bomb to themselves and makes those around him or her very unhappy or nonexistent and not everyone who participates in Ramadan would do such a thing. But, the bartender really, really recommends the PULLED PORK SLIDERS, BUT OUT OF RESPECT, I order the Jalapeno Deconstructed Poppers (My Favorite) theCharcuterie Plate (which contains synthetic ham and salami...wink, wink) and the Guacamole. All were good, and filled the void that the 10.6% beer left behind.
I left there empowered or beer muscles as I have heard. The Goose can only improve, great location, good service, and a relaxing time. I wish they were around 30 years ago when I ruled the Grove!
I love the Grove, and the Goose really reminds me when I was cool. So go be cool yourself and go to The Goose for your religious experience.
En Shala!
Let's be honest, the Grove is not exactly lacking on the bar scene. Â In fact, if you're looking for a touristy meal, or a dive, college bar, it's pretty much the go-to area. Â It's not necessarily a bad thing, just a statement of fact that you can expect most of the time you find find the area overrun with rambunctious revelers. Â
The Goose Lounge recently opened, bringing a slightly more upscale alternative to the usual spots.  The interior has been revamped so it does feel like a lounge with sleek modern sofas, and graffiti art from a local.  They offer around 75 different kinds of beers, and we were told they are aiming to carry close 100.  While I wouldn't say they venture quite into the rare beer territory (and that is based solely on a personal snobby predilection for being able to try less common varieties), you can find a fair assortment of options, including Ghost Face Killah, Levitation, Crispin Cider, and Ruination, for very reasonable prices.  They do plan to rotate the taps, and the night I was there they included you typical Brooklyn Brown Ale, Yuengling, UFO, and a few others.  Definitely an upgrade from other nearby spots.  They do also have a wine list if beer isn't your thing, and I was told a liquor license is on its way, meaning that perhaps some interesting cocktails are imminent.  Their food menu is fairly standard bar fare: bruschetta, mozzarella sticks, guacamole, etc.
Monday is karaoke night, Tuesday is open mic night, Wednesday is ladies night, and it sounds like live music will be featured towards the weekends.  For additional entertainment they've got a pool table in the back and televisions to catch the latest game.  The biggest negatives I observed is that you can smoke inside, which does tend to make the place a bit smoky, and also, the music can be a bit overwhelmingly loud.  Their logo is not to be missed as it decorates every visible surface, the lights, the coasters, even the mirror and garbage can in the bathrooms.  You should also note that tip is automatically added into your bill, but you can of course leave more if you'd like since the service is pretty good.
Once word gets out I'm sure this place will be packed with drunken barely-legal partiers!
We stopped in to meet some friends last night. Awesome space, good music, super attentive staff. I enjoyed the Seadog Blueberry beer but I did try a sip of my friends Ghost Face Killa beer-so spicy my throat tingled for the next 10 mins. We tried the guacamole and cerviche. Delicious! Will definitely be back!
Review Source:This place opened on Feb. 18th. They are trying to serve many masters, and I hope they get it right. They have a limited, but very high quality tapas menu. The beer selection is extensive, tap and bottled. This place could also serve the sports fan well. There are numerous TV's, including a large projection TV near the Grand Avenue entrance. The late night music crowd should also be well served. All in all, this is a great venue. I wish them well.
