Great place for lunch, portions are great and the atmosphere is authentic.
I got the gyro platter (lamb gyro on a pita, served with a greek salad). the lamb was good, a bit spicy but just enough to give it a kick. They put a lot of meat on the pita it's perfect! The tatziki with paprika was very good, light and creamy! My husband got the lamb pita with greek fries (fries with feta cheese). Delicious as well and the fries were crispy!
I asked the salad to be served with caesar dressing on the side but the dressing never came. I asked our waitress two more times but it still never came. My husband had lunch a few times there before and each time if you re-add something to your order or ask a new side or something, they don't do it... They are not very good at taking side orders.
Prices are reasonable for lunch, i really like it on the weekends. Service could improve though...
We happened to stumble upon this greek place just in the surfside area. The food was delicious! We got the Gyro and Chicken kebobs. The tzatziki on the gyro was amazing and the beef was well seasoned. The chicken kebobs were also a hit with the chicken perfectly cooked. We put a last order of baklava to go. It was good but found the portion a bit small.
Review Source:I stopped here for a quick lunch with my mom because I was really in the mood for some Greek and it's conveniently located across the street from our favorite pedicure place (Biguine). Â
This is a great lunch spot, bright and clean with a small menu. Â I got the gyro platter and my mom had a chicken pita with greek fries. Â My gyro platter was really delicious, and they give you so much gyro meat!!! Â I also love the option of the whole wheat pita. Â I didn't try my moms chicken pita but she said it was great. Â I did try the greek fries however and they were amazing and super crispy like she asked.
I always have to try the baklava at the greek places I go to so I ordered just one piece. Â It was just ok, I could have done without.
But all in all, great meal!
Was down in Surfside to check out a new Deli (Josh') but they closed early went to the greek Place. COuld not taste the salad dressing thought they served salad dry but no just no taste. Â Ditto for the Lamb Gyro and chicken everything way underspiced . Â I have a heart condition and even I had to add salt to this dish . pepper too should have asked for lemon, parsley and oregano too!
Review Source:I usually don't hang out in Surfside but found myself in the area in the middle of the afternoon on a day off from work.  The outdoor area in front is a great place for a tasty, fairly inexpensive lunch.  The mixed grill platter was a treat, and I would recommend  this spot if you're looking for a casual, friendly place to eat in the neighborhood.
Review Source:This place is a neighborhood gem for sure!!! They are always busy, hence the food is superfresh! They have delicious homemade soups which change daily. My favorite is the lemon chicken with rice. (available Weds & Thurs) the lentil is also very good (I think that is avail on Monday's). They usually have daily lunch specials that come with a Greek salad. My favorite is the spaghetti with meatsauce, it is made differently than the Italian way, the sauce has different seasonings that have a wonderful flavor. When I was pregnant I craved this on a daily basis :) They have so many healthy options; the Greek salad with grilled chicken breast~yum! They have many souvlaki platters, fish, pork, beef, lamb. It is family owned and run. I have been going here for many years and the quality has never been compromised. The desserts are even homemade by the owners wife :) Enjoy!
Review Source:This little place is quite the lunch spot. Stopped in with the kiddies for a quick lunch and was pleasantly pleased.
Spinach pie was crisp and delicious.
The Gyro was HUGE and oh so yummy! Hadn't had land that tasted that good since the last time I was in Europe.
The baklava was a little dense for my taste but still good.
Service was a bit slow but the girl was sweet and accommodated the kids so it was easily forgiven.
Looking forward to my next gyro craving for another visit.
I was really disappointed with this place, because the prices are not cheap, I was expecting a decent greek salad. Â What I got instead was low quality chicken and a ok salad. Â It wasn't a bad meal, but for a cheaper price and WAY better food go to Kabobji on 163rd street in Sunny Isles Beach. It's like half the price, and the food (including the chicken) BLOWs this place out of the water.
Review Source:We walked up to this place at 7:58 and they kindly seated us even though they closed at 8 (in Miami? Â this must be the only place that closes that early). Â We ordered the spinach pie, gyro plate, hummus, and pita. Â Everything was great, even though it was end-of-the-night food. Â I loved the flavor of the gyro meat and the spinach pie was great.
Our server was wonderful, but there was one guy who kept yellling at a teenage girl (obviously family) which was off-putting. Â Would like to have tried some other things but the kitchen had essentially closed.
I have been here twice and both times eaten the gyro platter. Â Both times it was awesome. Â The time to try it is during lunch as they have specials which are much less expensive compared to the dinner menu and offer the same thing. Â I think the gyro platter is about $10 for lunch and $15 for dinner. Â The restaurant itself has a nice decor and is small and cozy. Â Outside seating is available as well.
Review Source:Now that I have had to go to Surfside to see my Dr. weekly I have been stumbling into many of the fine restaurants. Â
The Greek Place was a great addition to my gastronomical pleasures of eating just diving into a messy gyro. I needed lots of napkins for this fun and guilty pleasure. The meat was juicy, pita fresh, filled with lots of greens and the sauce was tasty.
Staff was great and easy on the eyes.
Decor is as blah as the food; the small dining room has a very high noise level. Â Cramped, outdoor seating abuts a very busy, noisy thoroughfare. Â The food: boring & tasteless; limited menu choices. Â Not a pleasant, relaxing dining experience at all. Â A small neighborhood place, not a destination restaurant.
Review Source:Happened by here at random, was in the mood for Greek food and it crossed my path. Â The decor is decent - a mix of modern with typical Greek fixtures; slightly more hip than your usual joint. Â I was annoyed when the waiter took my order (I was starving) and then had a LONG conversation with another patron - before turning my order in! Â That's the height of rudeness, and I'm surprised that in these economic times restaurants aren't making sure their game is 100 percent "on." The cute hostess did flirt a bit, and gave me a window table, so those two cancel each other out (Bonus: more cute girls behind the bar!). Â They brought me some "toast" and hummus- both tasty and well made (although the toast was not warm, which I would have preferred). Â For dinner, Â I ordered the gyro and chicken combo dinner, with rice and salad. Â The gyro meat was warm and flavorful; the chicken on the other hand, was cardboard - bland. Â Instead of thick, grilled chunks, it was a thin, microwaved breast (like from the supermarket), sliced. Â Period. Â Not good. Â The rice was lukewarm, and certainly not made fresh - and flavorless, to top it all off. Â The salad was decent, but there was not enough dressing; the cucumbers and tomatoes were very fresh and crisp, and highlighted the salad. Â But that's not enough to save this place. Â Lazy chef, uninspired (and fake) Greek cooking. Â Will not return.
Review Source:I admit that good ol' TV advertising peaked my interest in wanting to visit this restaurant, as I've caught their commercial on several different occasions. But during a stroll this past weekend in Surfside, we happened to stumble upon the restaurant instead. Serendipitous? Maybe!
Although the restaurant has outdoor seating, all the tables were filled. And given the predictable rainy Miami afternoons, we opted to dine inside instead (and sure enough it did rain later on). Inside the walls are lined with pictures of the Mediterranean and each table has a vase with fresh flowers. You can't miss the columns in the middle of the restaurant which lead to the bar area. It's very cute, but my boyfriend said it reminded him more of something you'd see at a wedding.
The service was a little longer than we would have liked, but it was very busy with what appeared to be regulars as the wait staff knew many of the patrons by name - so I can't fault them on that. Aside from this, our waitress was extremely pleasant. We ordered the hummus appetizer (served with pita and seasoned toast) and she offered to bring out more bread at no extra charge. This certainly worked in our favor because the toast they serve is addicting.
As for the food, I had a hard time trying to choose what to eat for some reason, maybe because it all seemed delicious. The wait staff would walk by with different plates and it all looked appetizing (especially the pasta). With so many choices I just decided to go with something familiar, the chicken and gyro platter, which was delicious down to the very last bite. The chicken was seasoned to absolute perfection. The flavors of the rest of the dish blended together harmoniously - especially the lemony sauce they included - whatever it was, I would easily buy a jar of it to put on just about anything.
All around this was a nice find.
