well one visit was enough. but since my visit it seems that there have been some changes-so kudos for that. i walk there and with increased problems in this area will lay low till the weather goes to winter. with that said- i think the most problematic thing with gfp is the exterior. facelift the exterior to glory and buy up the land around it and you could easily make it a clementines atmosphere type place. it just comes across  as a low income property trying to throw drag around as  money maker and draw. a few issues with the entertainment because low tipping lesbians and few other low income tipping Heteros is not a draw for the major game players- so you get low class drags- no kings- and amateurs at best. because the lack of tips makes the best of entertainers stay away- so as other reviewers said - tired . the show lead does excellent and is the only draw- the rest are just passing time till the real queen comes back on stage. I was quite pleased with my drinks strong cheap and easily priced. interior just fine- whom really needs bells and whistles? how bout small bar- small prices- easy neighborhood dive in and out for a drink or two. really no need to make it all night- but make it a quick drink or two and head to queerville , the grove/ manchester to finish  your evening. tell others you got your start at Grey fox Pub.  OK - just not epic.
Review Source:I will have to agree with some of the reviewers, this is probably the worst bar in St. Louis. To compare the Grey Fox Pub, would be to say that this is the gay version of Chuckee Cheese. The entertainment is ok to great, but the main part of being there, the drinks, are terrible. The worst in the business. The only redeeming part of this business would be the drag show. I love some of the drag performers and some do know how to put on a decent act.
However, when I ordered a margarita, the bartender came back with what looked like a small drink in a size that was almost like a dixie cup. The drink hardly tasted like a margarita, but a cup of cold piss. Even the friend that came with me agreed, nodding wincing while replying, "you are right that is no margarita."
My recommendation? Come here for the show...and that is sometimes. But don't come here for the drinks. If you have to get a cold beverage. Try a beer. These people cannot do a good mixed drink.
my fellow Yelpers wouldn't review this place according to the night they were there with me, so I will be more than happy to take the displeasure of reviewing it. Â I don't like the Grey Fox, never have, never will, it's as simple as that.
The place is not even in a halfway decent location, and the surrounding houses have a slew of gangsta-ish looking thugs sitting on their porches or hanging out in the street. The building is in an old, and literally decaying building, there are holes in the floor from rotted wood where you can actually see into the basement. Â Upstairs is even worse, thankfully that mold ridden floor is closed to the public.
As far as the "Drag" goes, its not even drag, it's female impersonation, most of the people in the audience don't even know what real drag is anyway, so I will save that comment for another time.
I went to this bar to help celebrate my friends birthday, and that was the only reason for me being there, it is without a doubt, in my opinion anyway, THE worst gay bar in the city..thankfully I had my friends there with me to help ease the mild discomfort of hanging out in such a tired old bar...
