Hank's Tavern & Eats

The original plan was to go to carolina kitchen directly across from the restaurant but...carolina kitchen on fathers day was not a realistic plan. SO since my dad was dying of hunger we decided to try hank's. I always wondered what it was like and now i know :/
   Let me first say that the service was good, there wasnt any attitude or monotone voice from out waitress and she was more than willing to accommodate us but the food was not very good. My dad and i sent both of our entrees back (his was the gumbo and i had the ribs). The ribs were overcooked...fall off the bone is one thing but mushy is something else. So i ordered wings and they were fine, we also got chicken quesadillas and they were good...that's when i noticed something. THEY'RE SPECIALTY IS BAR FOOD! DUUHH *palms forehead* so if you go there just stick with the happy hour menu or appetizers. other than that probably won't go back *shrugs*

Love this place! Great food and atmosphere! I like that it has a private room you can rent out. Can't wait to go back!

If you go to the movie first and show your wait staff your movie ticket, you'll get a discount. Unfortunately, I am always hungry before I go to the movie when I am in Hyattsville, MD so I eat here first and then go to the movies. Please note, if you stay beyond 2 hours (free parking) you will pay the difference in the parking garage. I've been to this location 3-4 times and each time it's been a pleasant experience.
