This place is horrible. Food & service was terrible. When we got there, we were given ONE menu for a party of THREE. Ordered a club house sandwhich and my turkey was frozen. 2 of our party members ordered fajitas. When the food was brought we asked the runner if we could get sour cream & guacamole. With a bit of an attitude he responded " ill let him know" (referring to the server) so one of our party members walked to the kitchen from outside to get our sides from since it was such a problem.
We witnessed our runner taking an order for another guess as he friendly kneeled down besided him and took his order. In short, it seems good service is only given to those certain individuals.I would definately not recommend this place to anyone.

I am a big fan of the Friday nights when  pianist Jim "Fingers" Jordan and singer Gayel Vaughn entertain with their extensive repertoire, every Friday from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Frequently  surprise guests perform during the evening, always a treat.
Last night's guest performance was by a young woman who came from a gig at the Opera House in Prague. Not only was she charming but she had an amazing voice, the other guest singer was a man who celebrated his birthday, his voice was also quite good and there was a very well dressed man who accompanied them by playing the spoons.
There is yet another brand new restaurant in Headhunters: it is now "Mango's."
This is the third change in the past three or four years....
They serve both Mexican and American food and continue to  serve breakfast in the morning on the wonderful patio.
I am wondering wonder what's up with the constant changing of the restaurant, temperamental Chefs throwing pots and pans?  Or a difficult owner who is hard to please?

Our group ordered a plate of Street Tacos to share as well as Nachos, both were excellent in flavor and were reasonably priced.
The one big problem I observed was the lack of adequate staff for such a busy evening, this disorganized service seems to be an ongoing problem with Headhunters, new management is needed.
We were greeted by a woman who brought us utensils and water and  disappeared right afterwards.
There was one bartender and one server on the floor.
The server was working his tail off and did a fantastic job, we tipped him well, he kept a smile on his face despite the circumstances.
The service aspect needs to be handled better. I will still come back to listen to the music on Fridays.

Went in right after the menu change on 6/28. Not to blame the wait staff but they didn't know the menu at all or what the dishes were supposed to come with. I went in for brunch and got the Steak and Eggs. I chose to get pancakes from the options of pancakes, potatoes, or hash browns, and never received the muffin from the second choice of toast, biscuit, or muffin. My date did not receive her biscuit either.

The pancakes were the upside of the visit, they were pretty great. But besides that the steak was less than mediocre, I ordered rare and it came out med well, it was hard to cut and dry.

I believe we were one of 3-4 tables there and the service was as if they were busy. With two wait staff members I never got my water refilled and was only checked on once the meal was over.

Not sure where to begin at this disaster of a restaurant. We were seated awkwardly at an isolated and badly chipped table and left to sit there for about 10 minutes before someone came by accidentally.   She said she did not know we were there.  My friend ordered a grapefruit juice off the menu and about 20 minutes later he was told there wasn't any available.  No one checked on us the entire time. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which i was assured was great.  It even came with bacon, I was told!  I ordered it extra spicy, but without the bacon.  It tasted like tomato juice out of a can.  I figured a little Tabasco sauce would help and luckily a bottle was put on the table by the employee who discovered us waiting.  The top was not screwed on and the Tabasco wound up on my shirt when I shook it.

All around us, tables and chairs were dragged across the floor in preparation for Club Mango.  Again about 20 minutes passed without a word from anyone.  Finally our food arrived.  I ordered the steak.  About 1/3 was fat and gristle.  My friend ordered the citrus salad, which came with no dressing at all.  Of course, no bread or even crackers came with it.  At the prices charged, something should have accompanied the meals.  The cheap paper napkins were a nice touch though.

Headhunters should decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a nightclub.  It obviously cannot do both.  Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your time waiting for the decision.

The Dutch Baby is DEAD! The current grill proprietors are moving on, new ownership takes over next week.

This was a great spot that never found its service groove and following.

This was the only place to get a Dutch Baby in town, it was great while it lasted!

Utterly HORRID, DISGUSTING food. Yesterday I attended an event catered by Headhunters. It was billed as a "gourmet dinner by Chef Tony of Headhunters." Incredible! This was nearly the worst dinner I have ever had. The offerings were chicken breast over rice with salad and green beans.

That chicken breast was so very dry that it was difficult to cut with a knife. It was covered with what, I suppose, was a mushroom sauce. It tasted like a cheap canned mushroom soup and was so watery that it would not cling to the rock-hard chicken breast. The rice was terrible. It was so under-cooked that it was crunchy and bland. The so-called fresh green beans were a mushy mess and tasted like they had been sitting in a refrigerator for a week--at least. Finally, sadly, even the simple salad was a gooey, soggy, mashed mass of romaine lettuce in a dressing that was unidentifiable.

It is an insult to chefs every where that this fellow Tony labels himself a "chef". It is ludicrous and an insult to call this awful slop a "gourmet" dinner. A disaster is far more an accurate description for that inedible, tortured, food. His mother should be ashamed of her boy.

I will never, never, never set foot in that restaurant.

I gave it 2 stars because the service was friendly. The food was not good except the mushroom soup. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was so dry, the green beans were under cooked and everything needed salt. The popcorn shrimp was mostly batter and crab cakes wasnt much crab. Spinach raviolis were spicy too. Sorry to say we would not go back.

Since the latest management and staff change, day, afternoon or evening, Headhunters is a place to enjoy a reasonably priced and well prepared meal. Dining inside or on the patio, we can count on great service. Because of the proximity to many midtown venues, this restaurant is a common stop for pre- or post-events to enjoy drinks and appetizers. The waitstaff, bartenders am hosts are always on their best game. Don't be surprised if there are piano singalongs, karaoke or a private celebration when you're there.

K today experience was horrible! I usual order breakfast to go from there. I think they r a lil pricey. They need to price their menu so it's easy to read. Don't put sausage/bacon/ham on the same line n price 3.49. People r gonna assume its 3.49 for all 3 when it's really EACH! Sound like a good deal til when we got there n the bill was triple wat we expected! SMH!! Tresa the server had a attitude cuz she heard my order wrong. I didn't want 3 eggs for each order! I said 2 separate orders AND ONE egg each. Every time I call the phone rings n rings hella long or sometimes they don't even pick up. No wonder no one is there every time I'm there!

We are new to Sac and thought we'd try some new places to eat. There was a groupon for dinner and thought that it would be a good idea.

Let's say I'm glad I didn't pay full price.... the steaks were not good at all and the overall food quality seemed a bit cheap.

While our server was really nice, she was the only one working the outside patio on a busy Friday night. Friendly service yes but not prompt in the least.

We will not be back for dinner.

I ordered their fish sandwich.   Their bread was thick that I couldn't even eat it as a sandwich.   I had to remove the bread and eat it like fish and chips.   TOTAL FAIL!  Their garlic fries was also a total disappointment.  It tasted like they just sprinkle some garlic powder on it.  I did see chopped garlic, but it was very little and did not stick to my fries.   We also order their chicken wings and their jalapenos poppers, which I did enjoy.  The wings were perfect!!  It was very fresh and crispy.   The wings are the only reason I'm giving this spot more than one star.    I would never come back.

This is a story of two visits, and where one shined, the other was pretty dull.  The interior is not very impressive at all, and doesn't really look or feel like a restaurant.  Pretty sure they place more importance on their bar then the kitchen or the dining area, so my first impressions were not the greatest.  The outside is much better in terms of seating, and if it's a nice day I'd recommend you take it outside.

On both visits, the waiter was very nice, and did a great job.  The food however, varied greatly for each visit.  The first time there, I was very impressed by the food brought out.  I ordered a BBQ Bacon Burger and added avocado, and my lovely lady ordered their Coconut Jumbo Shrimp plate with Piña Colada sauce.  We also had some calamari and chicken wings as appetizers (yes, we were both very hungry).  Everything was excellent, and I was so impressed, I swore I'd be back!

So I did come back, and this time, not so impressed.  We came with a few friends, and ended up ordering mostly off of the happy hour menu.  The one thing off their regular menu was what I ordered, a NY Steak Sandwich... which sounds epic and I could not pass on.  The truth however was quite the opposite.  Decent cut of meat, but with a lot of fat on it, and totally covered with the biggest french roll I've ever seen.  I actually cut the top "slice" in half, and it was still way too much, so after a bite, I just took off the bottom and ate it like that.  It just didn't work, the onion ring on it was mush and it just didn't work at all.  The rest of the things ordered: Shrimp Poppers, Wings, Chicken strips, crab cakes, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and egg rolls were all badly done, and I'm guessing the fryer temp was set way too low because everything was undercooked and drenched in oil...

So I'm not really sure which visit to trust, not sure I'll be back to see...

This is a fantastic place to eat! They have plenty of seating inside and in their outdoor patio! It's well groomed, classy and modern with a southern CA feel with four palm trees.

Chef Tony is fabulous!! I have enjoyed all of their food, but I especially love the shortbread cookies which come with the coffee and the breakfast biscuits with the orange, lemon and dill butter. Simply amazing! The portions are enormous, so bring an appetite.

I have eaten the spinach and mushroom omelet and the veggie omelet. The breakfast potatoes are excellent!

Great people, great ingredients and food! It has become my Saturday Morning favorite!

Thank you for taking such good care of my Mom Chef Tony! You have been an angel and we are so blessed to have met you!

Cannot wait to come back for Tuesday karaoke and grab a bite to eat!

The only reason they get any stars from me is because the server did the right thing without being asked. But that is because we waited patiently for an hour before she realized our food wasn't coming. We ended up waiting 90 minutes for our breakfast to come. And I'm sorry but no place that doubles as a club has food worth waiting that long for. If they did I'm sure the wait to be seated would have been more than 10 minutes.

So the only meals that have eaten at Headhunters are breakfast.  Its an ok place to go for breakfast, but personally I think it is close to impossible to mess up breakfast.  The bar at night used to be decent but I still would have rather gone to any of the other bars in the area, instead of Headhunters.

The part that I really dislike is the "club mango" nights on Fridays and Saturdays.  On Friday it is 18+, on Saturday it is 21+ and on both days it is pretty much all straight people.  It is all spanish music the entire night and the worst part is that almost every night that I walk by the people from Headhunters are standing all over the sidewalk area so it is hard to get by every.  On top of that the guys from the club mango nights are always out on the sidewalk and trying to start fights with anyone that walks by.  I have even been called an anti-gay slur in front of headhunters by a random guy from the club mango party and this past weekend my boyfriend had a hurt foot so I was helping him walk home and a drunk guy from headhunters pushed us trying to fight us. Headhunters is bringing a bad vibe to the area and really makes me not feel comfortable and safe in the lavender heights area of town.  I now do not give any business to Headhunters and try to avoid even walking by on weekends.

Had the most wonderful experience, champagne brunch here today and our server, Trey was the best ever and showed so much kindness and attention to us.  The Huevos Rancharos (sorry for the misspelling) was the best I have
ever had and can't wait to eat the leftovers. Thank you Chef Tony! and for coming to our table to see how we liked everything.   I would highly recommend this place to anyone friend or foe!

We ate here on a beautiful Sunday morning in the patio and could not be more delighted with the food and exceptional service. They use the freshest ingredients, food served is hot, and the coffee met my standards since I am a coffee critic.  This is not a greasy spoon, rather a great place to enjoy a healthier option. You will not be disappointed!

So I bought a Groupon and took  my daughter here for lunch about a month ago.

We absolutely Loved It! It was on the weekend and so they were still serving breakfast -- Chef Tony was more than happy to cook for us off of the Lunch menu - and he was Really Busy -- but it wasn't a problem.

So we both ordered the French Dip and I would definitely put it up there in the 'top' 10 for my favorite french dip in town. The Onion Rings were also absolutely awesome - as were the French Fries.  Not a big fan - of the french fry - but here at Headhunters?  They were So good, both my daughter and I couldn't stop eating them!!!!

We sat out on the patio - it was so beautiful - and serene... we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch from the food to the service.

THEN - we got cake!  OMG - it was absolutely amazing! Chef Tony makes them from scratch - we had Chocolate and Mandarin!

As my daughter would say, "Woot!"

Definite two thumbs up - and a standing ovation for Chef Tony!

I stopped in for breakfast one morning recently and treated myself to the restaurant's Chicken Fried Steak. It was delicious. The meal was creatively presented. This wasn't just your run of the mill ground chuck steak, either. It was a REAL steak, batter dipped and fried to perfection. The soft scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes were also quite tasty. I would highly recommend this dish if you're hungry, as the portions were generous. The service was very courteous and attentive and checked back more than once to ensure I was satisfied. I opted to remain indoors for the meal, but the outside patio seemed inviting and I would like to try that in the future. I was very happy overall with my dining experience.

Well, the food was pretty good, and if I were judging the place on that alone, I'd go back.  However, the rest of the experience confirmed that none of our group will go back again.

When we arrived (granted, we were a party of 6, however arriving at 1:10 pm), the little old lady had difficulty clearing and setting up a table for us.  She'd take a few glass, and slowly walk away, before returning to clear a few more pieces for the table.  And repeat.

We were seated .... and it took 12 minutes to get the menus to our table.  And then the waiter disappeared.  We were getting anxious for food....when he came for our drink order, we told him were ready to order.  After taking the order for 3 of us, he expressed surprise we were all ordering breakfast/brunch.  But the breakfast menu was the only menu given to us -- we had no idea a more savory lunch menu was available.

He again disappeared.   Brought the lunch menus.  Disappeared.   When we saw him, we asked to order...that went well, except that, once all had ordered, he went to chat with other guests, walked to refill other drinks....and had not taken our orders to the kitchen.

It was fully one hour from the time we walked in before we were served -- and then the four side salads arrived.  Again, a long break ... before the food was delivered to the table .... except for one person at our table, whose order did not come.  It was 7 more minutes before that plate was brought.

Paying the bill was an ordeal, too.

We all agreed--the food was pretty good.  However, they lost our future business based on service along.

Just got back from headhunters. Wow...where the hell is Gordon Ramsay? This place is the perfect candidate for kitchen nightmares. Immediately upon walking in the guy said "sorry I have to sit you in the back." I can see why he apologized. The back area is next to a service station that looks like it has been out of use for months...catering trays and boxes piled up in plain sight for everyone to look at.

Ordered a mint julep to drink...easy to make classic cocktail (cost $9!!!) and it tasted like absolute rubbish. Bartender put like 5oz of club soda in a mint julep?? The table next to us didn't eat hardly any of their food (always a great sign) and when their friends came to meet up with them for dinner they said lets just go somewhere else you guys shouldn't eat here.

The salad was pretty good, I had the ravioili (I'm a vegetarian and it's the ONLY vege option) and it wasn't bad. My date had the coconut shrimp which clearly came out of a freezer bag, squished flat and flavorless. Mashed potatoes also seemed to have come from instant powder. Dipping sauce for the shrimp was nearly ice cold.

Our server was nice and friendly but all he did the whole time was apologize constantly and seemed incredibly stressed...pretty sure he was the ONLY server in the entire place working on a FRIDAY NIGHT. Great job again management.

Oh and another sign that the place is under phenomenal management...they don't even give you free tap water. Yes you read that correctly. They try to charge you for expensive ass frilly bottled water. Absolute disregard for the customer. If this place weren't in such a good location in Sac it would have been out of business long ago for certain.

I came because it was the only decent groupon my bf and I could find...the half off wasn't nearly worth it. Honestly wouldn't go back again for free. I'm pretty easy to please and usually write yelp reviews when my experience was good, but I just had to nail this place. It has potential with parts of the decor but that's offset by the tackiness of the rest of the decor. huuuuge swing and a miss.

Came in for a little hangover breakfast on Saturday morning.  No wait and plenty of street parking.  I got the chicken fried steak and my buddy got the Denver omlette.  I am a sucker for the square plates so i found the presentation was good.  My chicken fried steak was overcooked and way too salty.  The hash browns were crispy and delicious.  The biscuits and orange butter were good and fresh.  My buddy said his Denver omlette was just okay but would have been a lot better with cheese.   Overall, I was a little hung over so its not fair to be too critical without giving Headhunters a second chance.

This brunch spot has really made a 180.  I remember coming here not that long ago and we'd come more for the cheap mimosas and greasy breakfast food.  Now, you can tell the chef is putting a lot of detail in the taste and presentation.

I'd definitely recommend this place for a late Sunday morning brunch.  There's some great outdoor seating, service was over the top excellent, and the food was great!  Try the homemade biscuits.  And who can't beat a pitcher of mimosas to go with it.

    Great place for Sunday brunch.

Chef Tony recently took over and the menu has lots of options from eggs to sweet dishes.

I had the huevos rancheros. Very good! Lots of food.

I like how most of the dishes come with eggs, toast, and choice of potatoes or has browns.

Free fresh made biscuits and orange butter to start was a nice treat. I ordered gravy on the side for an additional $1.

Pitcher of Mimosas were around $10 which is a great deal.

We sat in the patio area since I had my dog. Extra kuddos for being dog friendly!

We tried to order the Dutch Baby but all the ovens were being used for a couple of large parties. Chef Tony felt bad and cam out to apologize as well as offer it up free the next time we came in. I thought that was a nice gesture.

Our server Paul was on top of it as well. Always full coffee and waters and the food came out promptly.

Overall a great place for weekend brunch with friends!

This review is narrowly confined to Headhunters Saturday afternoon happy hour.

For my money, metaphorically and literally, this is the best place in Sacramento to wash down a few mid-day drinks.

First there is the regular barkeep, Billy Ray and his Bloody Mary's. His concoction is one of the best I ever had. Like everyone who enjoys making and consuming this drink, Billy Ray has his own spin.

For my taste is is one off, if not the best, Bloody Mary's I've had. Along with the standard accouterments that go with a Bloody Mary, Billy Ray's included a semi-thich slice of hickory of bacon!

Then there is the general vibe of this place on a Saturday afternoon. People are laid back and it is easy to spark a conversation is you want.

After we had a few drinks, we ordered a few sides, garlic fries and veggie spring rolls. They were standard bar food, served fresh and hot.

So if you you are looking a place for a great Bloody Mary Saturday morning or afternoon, this is the place.

At 11:30a Saturday Feb 9th, drove past Fox & Goose, about 10 people waiting, drove past Tower Cafe, about 20 people waiting.  Tried to remember where Cornerstone moved to and ended up at Headhunters.  (RIP Cornerstone).  No line, no wait.  Picked the table we wanted.  A very handsome, friendly, smiling, brunette named Paul gave me and mom VIP treatment.  Mom had Denver omelet and I had the two eggs, a lot of meat, and the best home potatoes I've ever had.  While we waited for breakfast, Paul brought homemade biscuits with orange butter.  Mom & I couldn't figure out why the crowd was not at Headhunters.  They've got to advertise, but in the meantime, that will be our new breakfast place.  Gourmet food w/out the wait!  FAN FREAKIN' TASTIC!  Hope the business starts hopping for you guys.  Gratefully full, Lisa Weil and Sara Hummingbird

Went to Headhunters for a friend's premiere party, the food was good, but the service was horrible! The bartender had MAJOR ATTITUDE! we were seated at a table and had to literally flag down a waiter. Made the mistake of flagging down an employee who worked behind the bar I got major tude and tone "I AM NOT A WAITER!" and he then proceeded to go stand behind the bar.  There was one "mature" gentlemen providing  exceptional service all on his own, but the rest of the staff was incredibly rude and seemed to be annoyed to provide service.

I have been a patron of Headhunters on and off over the years.  I remember attending a bachelorette party, stopping in for dirty martinis and lovely appetizers but at other event stopping in late night for the same appetizers but to my dismay Cornerstone had taken over, leaving the menu full of fatty diner food!! (Not that diner food is bad, but it did not match this venue!)

I was so excited to hear Cornerstone had moved on and there was a new menu in town!!!  This new menu is nice and simple.  It included various sandwiches, burger, steak, pastas and salads!  All right up my alley!  They also have a brunch/breakfast menu for weekday mornings and until 2 pm on Saturday and Sundays.

Hubby and I went for lunch at 1:30ish on a Saturday, we ordered some mimosas and waited until it was OK to order lunch (I was OK with waiting, because I had my taste buds set on lunch).  Hubby ordered the Fried Tilapia sandwich and I ordered the Chinese Turkey Burger.  You can choose either fries or a side salad, but I did also notice later they have sweet potato fries which I will get next time.   My sandwich was VERY VERY fulfilling and tasty!  Full of flavor!!  The turkey burger was home made, and the red pepper onion slaw was a bit over dressed but added a zestiness and crisp to the sandwich.  And they kept it healthy by serving it on a wheat grain bun.  I was satisfied!  Hubby's sandwich was crispy and fried nicely.  He said it was missing a bit of flavor but he still enjoyed it.  Overall a nice lunch!

Service: Our server was very sweet but a little quiet, I wanted to tell him to speak up lol!  But he was engaging.  He informed us of a large group just being seated, wanting to give us a heads up if we wanted to order fast so it would not cause a delay in food.  He had never served lunch or really even seen the lunch menu, which was ok so we learned together.

This is a nice, local, diverse place to come and eat and drink.  Since I love to have drinks on the patio,  I can't wait until this freezing cold weather is done.  Because you will find me sipping a cocktail, enjoying a salad on the patio of Headhunters!

Super good food! I came here with a groupon and had one of the best breakfasts ever. I had the garden omelet which was stuffed full of veggies and came with thick, flaky hashbrowns. My boyfriend had the breakfast sampler. The sausage was great. I think there were two different kinds, a smokey one and a maple one.

The real show stealer is the bacon. Thick, sweet, and delicious. And don't get me started on the pancakes. All in all, some awesome food, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Secret reason to go? The cake. And it's not a secret, it's sitting decadently in a display window. While the chocolate looks tempting, go for the poppy seed and almond frosting cake with pineapple. It tastes just as good as it sounds. While I was too full after my breakfast feast to eat it right than and there, it made a delightful midnight snack.

I will definitely be coming here again. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and Headhunters is one of the few places in Sac that does it right.

I'm reviewing Club Mango's hosted at the Head Hunters location on Friday and Saturday Nights.

    GENERAL:
This Club is open to 18+ on Fridays and 21+ on Saturdays.
This Club opened up one month ago and the entrance fee is 15$
The guest list allows people to enter for free before 10:30 but it is nearly impossible not to pay the entrance fee since they open at 10 and the line is always extremely long.

    ATMOSPHERE:
This club is mostly popular among the Latin community. Everyone is always dressed to impress and the dress code is strictly enforced. The DJ mainly plays Latin and Hip Hop music. On Friday's there is a live Mexican band that plays Tamborazo in one of the dance floors.

    STRUCTURE:
There are two dance floors, one on each end of the building. In between the dance floors is the entrance which is outside and is used mainly for hookah and taking a break to sit down. There is a main bar and two mini bars on each end.

    MY EXPERIENCE/OPINION:
I've been here three times and it seems that every time I go there are more and more people which I don't like. The last time I went there was literally no room to dance. Elbows where flying into my space and i was getting beat up by heels and shoulders everywhere. It was so uncomfortable to dance because my body was rubbing against three strangers. To simply put it, It was tooooooo overcrowded and for 15$ I didn't find it to be a good use of my money. However, besides this, they play good music and the club is very elegant. I love the security. I feel safe and there are a lot of good looking people that go here.

(1/31/13) Well, the sign on the door says the kitchen is open until late, but try to order appetizers at the bar on a Thursday night and you are told the kitchen isn't open (at 6 PM). I'm really disappointed in the uneven/unreliable kitchen service. Fortunately, the bartenders are still friendly and accommodating.

Since the kitchen has a new chef (Nov. 2012), the food is really good, the prices are fair, and the portions are large. It is so nice to have appetizers that don't taste like they came from Costco. Everything is homemade and it tastes like: Fresh, hot, and flavorful.

The Cornerstone is dead! Long Live Headhunters!

Chef Tony Crane's all new and housemade menu kicks the holy hell outta the freezer burned fare that the former cornerstone management had. Bread made fresh daily, housemade soups, fresh guacamole made daily, fresh ground meat, not preformed parties!

This is the restaurant the LGBT community has been waiting for, and I for one will continue support them - the food and service is just better than before, and if the prices are slightly higher, that's because the food is made fresh.

I'm always willing to pay more for higher quality and better service.  And the prices are barely higher than the previous cornerstone prices for much higher quality!

Cornerstone was filth. I'm so glad they're GONE...let's celebrate!!!

So happy to see that crappy food gone, and an actual chef with amazing food replace the kitchen at Headhunter's! Can't wait to enjoy great food on the patio (well, once it warms up again!)

    Welcome, Chef Tony!!!

It's 1am and all I want to do is satisfy my craving to sing loudly in front of strangers. I was in that 1 hour window where I actually think I have a good voice and want to show off to my friends.

We go in and the place is dead. I immediately begin picking songs and tossing them in the bowl. The two running the show start singing... and singing...and singing. They kept taking turns with the mic and obviously thought this was an American Idol competition when clearly even Paula would have said no.

After finally handing the mic over to their customers, I showed them how it's done. Because we all know karaoke should be two things: loud and obnoxious.
