On the west style of Allan of Guo of heating power river is disparate bright group of nation of infighting of the contest after contending for season
Put on shiny custom-built shoe, chronic ground is bound on arm and leg on protect, it is to look forward to completely in Guo Allan heart, he too the arrival of the contest after expecting season, what even if awaits him is the challenge of in quick succession and difficulty, guo Ailun says, hit 3 years of league matches, can reduce the competition after season eventually.
Wait with suffering 3 compare like wished Guo Ailun end of the year, on the west heating power river is apparently a lot of happier, xinjiang team slants house northwest corner, actual strength and financial capacity have both, it is the frequenter of the contest after season. Grow in such environment go all out in work, the actual strength of heating power river is mixed on the west the technology grows very quickly, the dimension with that choppy movements when going out a group of things with common features Zhuang Xiaohuo, the training of recumbent self-abuse type, had grown 3 minutes of king that are CBA new generation.
These two are representing Chinese basket world the full back of newly emerging force, surpass first-run encountering after season unluckily, the Xinjiang team that heating power river is in on the west is ranked the 4th, the Liaoning team that Guo Ailun is in ranks 5, 449 contend for, be just as Tian Lei to receive ground ammunition, never lack hotspot and suspense.
The first match that two teams are at war, on the west the play of heating power river is a little wrong, the sports season that the data of 7 7 backboard, secondary attack broke through him however is average line, but the show that gets 2 minutes only, let a person how cannot its and new division the renown date of 3 minutes of king is contacted. In the phase of decide the issue of the battle of the match, xinjiang team dropped 4 3 cent balls continuously, be rejected by basket basket, this has among them on the west 1 of heating power river, the moment of truth, the Xinjiang group that attacks dumb fire can be accepted only by Liaoning team changeover the ending of 19 minutes of get victory.
This match, I am hit too poorly, complete star surpasses those who affected I and team to close practice, my aggression success rate is lower, defending the oppressive sex of end is insufficient also, return advocate field hope is good bit. Head after fight suffers a defeat, on the west heating power river is a little vexed. Probably also because of such, when the problem of Allan of Guo of the counterpoint that be asked about, word of cherish of heating power river is like gold on the west, after he is hit well, ran back to bathhouse hurriedly.
This sports season, on the west 3 minutes of balls of heating power river are more accurate, the assurance of the moment of truth the gender is stronger also, ball wind also with each passing day bully gas, but in these mouths that changed him, turned a summary belt into the age from ridicule big, it is a few more mature to must air max shoes want.
To more mature on the west for heating power river, a lot of problems been perplexinging him no longer, last sports season, he ever was in mix 2 between kink sways, but arrived this sports season, if be asked about, nowadays is to hit after all or 2, heating power river is protected on the west forbid to meet end this complex dispute with a fun, I hit 6.
As expected, be familiar with advocate, suffering returns to search feel two days ago heating power river becomes on the west firepower a standard-sized sheet. Full-court match, two minutes of his balls 4 cast completely medium, still hit the target 4 write down 3 minutes of balls, full-court contribution is grabbed 21 minutes with 6. That looks in Guo Ailun play a ball game very of bully gas on the west heating power river, with such a kind reticent strong however pattern proclaimed regression.
No matter adversary is much strong, he can develop his characteristic. Although Guo Ailun expresses to be able to be restricted hammer and tongs on the west heating power river, but from the point of the result, guo Ailun's nick does not calculate a success.
Fail to continue the impetus that a battle surpasses to win a ball after season, guo Ailun is not quite happy, to him of the contest after first time enters season, those who suffer a defeat is agonized it is early also in his preparation, he what make full the whole audience almost took 8 5 15 cent, backboard, secondary attack, to oneself play, the color of be in a dilemma of extensive of Guo Allan face, still go, the strength that surpasses after season after all is greater, oneself play the game after season for the first time, still also take exercise in study in, several crucial balls fail to be hit into regret quite really, go back to be summed up well.
Will break even after big score, condition answers brave heating power river is done not have on the west when sufferring a defeat like the first speak with fervor and assurance in that way, after raise one's arm celebrates joyously a victory, heating power river restored calm instantly on the west, recur familiar pattern winning a ball, heating power river cares the result that additionally a few groups of series surpass more on the west, this revealed his maturity and self-confidence.
Be opposite in the 3rd of the fight that having day king mountain definitely in, heating power river is shown again on the west piece be proud ball ability of the person and big heart, he takes next entire lines 28 minutes highest, head Xinjiang group with 112 than 89 get the better of Liaoning team greatly. Although Guo Ailun is behaved likewise not common, but the 3 15 cent, secondary attack, report that grabs 4 times did not change a victory in expecting for Liaoning team.
On field, heating power river and Guo Allan lie on the west contrapuntal position, but the style of two people is endless however and same. Heating power river is having those who shoot with great precision to shoot art on the west, 3 minutes of Wang Guiguan that just obtain in the behead on complete star contest are very good proof. And for the word that uses him Guo Ailun, my rate is rapidder, be good at hitting quick attack and strike back, defend the footstep of end also is an advantage.
New to be being experienced old for alternant Chinese male basket, the full back of these two kinds of types is team place need. Accordingly, besides for semifinals entrance ticket front fight closely, guo Ailun and the position that heating power river still will be national group rear guard on the west and spread out contention.
Taste the flavor of the contest after season because of heading probably, guo Ailun has not thought too far, my cause is realer, hit good league matches hardheadedly first, the hope can enter national group in summer, contribute oneself force.
And and just followed go on an expedition of Chinese male basket last summer the Guo Ailun of London Olympic Games is compared, the target of heating power river appears more clear on the west, we this half area, killing the affirmation that takes total finals is Xinjiang team. And the assemble for training of national group gave me last year very big touch, as the first batch of players that are brushed to come down, I am resolved should prove oneself, the hope weighs a national group with his effort.
As the person above average of homebred full back, on the west the northern fleet teammate between heating power river and Guo Allan Cong Quanming week, became the contrapuntal mate that competition ground surpasses after season nowadays, did not come to China probably of male basket hind field double gun, also be ball wind is complementary they.     Nice decor but bad food . Sauce for steamed dumplings was off( sour);
Chicken corn soup was slimy, tasteless and had no actual chicken in it. They don't offer soy sauce or mustard and seem annoyed if you ask.
We asked for some crispy noodles which are usually free, and were told there is a charge for them. General Tso's chicken had tiny pieces of chicken which if added together would be less than an ounce total. No broccoli in the dish, just onions and un-edible red chili peppers. Small portions. Not enough to share a dish. This may be the only Chinese restaurant in this area but we'd never go back, regardless.

First time visiting this restaurant tonight for dinner--we were not disappointed.

We shared a hot and sour soup--it was very good.  Typically you get a ton of broth and not much of the "meat" of the soup--but this was opposite.  My husband actually said he would've liked a little more broth, but I thought it was perfect.  Had a very nice flavor.

For dinner my husband ordered the three pepper chicken dish.  The sauce was delicious--and it was a very spicy dish which I liked.  I thought it was excellent, but perhaps maybe less peppers and more chicken would be better (some of them were VERY spicy, so you could only eat so much), although it is called a three-pepper chicken entree, so the name is appropriate.

I ordered orange chicken--I have been looking for a place to make orange chicken how I like it, with a strong orange flavor and the chicken pieces small and crispy.  This place was spot-on.  I ordered it extra spicy and it came out perfect.

For dessert we ordered the beignets.  I could've eaten 5 more of these.  They were gooey and delicious.  Great ending to a great meal.

Aside from the food the wait staff were very nice.  Water was always filled and they came around a few times to make sure everything was good.

We will definitely be back.

Not Philly style Chinese food - which is a positive.  No gloop!!  Go for the lunch specials.  For $9 you get either an egg roll or salad which are good size portions - particularly the salad, and, you get a cup of their hot and sour soup (really good here - probably the best part of the meal) and of course one of the lunch menu entrees.  It's a much better value and the food is good (not great, but good).  And, at lunch, there's no extra charge for brown rice.

Also, for lunch, ask for the chocolate dipped fortune cookies (they're free) if they forget to get them for you when they bring your check.

Overall, I think the food here is definitely one of the better Asian restaurants on the Main Line (although, that's not saying much for the Main Line area).  Maybe that's just because we lived in Vancouver, Canada for a while (awesome city for Chinese food from multiple regions), and we became too picky.

A better place is R & Z Ping Pong in Wayne (in the Gateway Shopping Center).  Get the dan dan noodles...they're good.

Since my last review, that particular waitress who was always there at lunch and who always tried to charge us extra for everything is no longer there.  Service is a lot better now.

"A must eat at restaurant."

I just had dinner here August 7th, 2012 and it was absolutely great. First of all the food is extremely fresh and very well prepared. If you like Chinese food, this place sets the bar. It's not a typical Chinese restaurant which caters to the lowest common denominator, they actually prepare and serve the food the way it should be served. This is a great treat since you will experience much more authenticity than in almost any other place. Plus the food is super fresh!! Try to find that combination nearby!!

If you are a foodie, like me, call Chris the owner, who I met while I was there, ahead of time and arrange a specialized dinner or tasting menu. I am sure he would be happy to comply and you may get to sample some of his finest creations.

Make sure you have the homemade hot sauce and the Peking chicken.

So buy a good bottle (or 6 pack) of something to bring along come to the restaurant and it will not disappoint.

I absolutely love this place.

Every time I dine here, its nearly impossible for me not to order the Hunan Peppers with pork. They bring a burst of flavor with a kick!! So addicting. In addition to enjoying that dish, I am a big fan of the calamari, spring rolls, dumplings,  wonton soup, general tso (light-sauce), three pepper chicken..and the list goes on. All the dishes I have sampled at Hunan have been filled with solid notes of various spices. It's a place with dishes I crave very often!

Keep it up, Hunan!

I had a really delicios meal here.  Food was fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy or greasy, which sometimes Chinese can be.  I loved the scallion pancakes, calamari, and chicken curry.  Its also byob which was great for our group!  It is great place for a relaxed dinner with friends on the Main Line.

I have visited Hunan about once a week over the last year.  Im pretty addicted.  It has been an amazing experience each and every visit. The food is fantastic, they do a mix of Chinese home cooking but there are many dishes to suit the American palate as well. My personal favorites are the dried tofu, water spinach, scallion pancakes, stuffed long hot peppers, Pan fried noodles with veggies and seafood and the Peking chicken (this one only comes as a special-worth the planning)
The service is always prompt and friendly. The decor is modern Asia and the setting is great for families, date nights and large parties. My friends had a birthday party here last week and the restaurant is always able to accommodate. We all left with doggie bags due to the large serving sizes and the food is always just as yummy the next day.
I also love the fact that's it a byob...so bring a bottle and some great friends and enjoy!!

Best hot and sour soup I've ever had.  Ever.

Oh, and everything else on the menu is also consistently delicious and the owners are so sweet.

But again, make sure you order the hot and sour soup.

I've never seen a place with such a variance between takeout and eat-in.  Our takeout experiences with Hunan have been underwhelming to say the least -- rubbery meats, soggy crusts.  Eat-in has been a completely different experience.

The food and service are great (both are a little better than Sang Kee down the road).  Parking is easy to find if you're willing to walk 1/2 block.

The subtle difference between Sang Kee and Hunan is all technique.  The shrimp in the Singapore noodles at Sang Kee are sometimes overcooked (rubbery), the shrimp in the Singapore noodles at Hunan have been surprisingly tender.  The scallops in the Szechuan scallops at Hunan are seared to a golden crust prior to being sauced, not always the case at Sang Kee.

I don't think they'll ever overtake Sang Kee in terms of popularity among main liners, but you can probably get a better meal at Hunan.

I was craving Chinese food for lunch on my birthday, so we checked out what was in the area. We found Hunan because of the other great reviews, and they definitely delivered on those! The service was quick and not a mistake was made. The food came out in courses, salad, egg rolls, then main meals. The salad was not your typical Chinese food restaurant salad - it actually had dark greens! And the dressing was great. The egg rolls were incredibly good, with small full shrimp, and a savory pork sausage filling along with the veggies. They came out piping hot, so we had to wait a bit to eat them, but it was very worth it.

The main dishes came out pretty quickly - my boyfriend and I got beef dishes, and we were impressed by them both. He got the beef and broccoli and I got the orange beef, which I would recommend 100 times over. It wasn't terribly spicy, the beef was tender, and there was a great flavor to the whole dish. Bonus: you can get brown rice! And the orange beef came with freshly steamed broccoli! All in all, a great lunch. I'd love to go back for dinner, maybe try some of their appetizers, definitely get another egg roll! And I can't forget the lovely chocolate dipped fortune cookie that cause me to ask, "Why doesn't EVERYONE dip their fortune cookies in chocolate?" It's a valid question.

This is one of the best places to eat in Ardmore. Food is served quickly, staff are attentive and food is great. They have some nice touches that makes this place top notch, such as the choc dipped fortune cookie.

Hunan is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been too. The food is fresh, spicy (majority of the dishes), and absolutely delicious. Owned and run by the Foo family, they certainly have mastered their craft in the 35 years they've been in business there in Ardmore. You will not find a better Hot and Sour Soup or Scallion Pancake anywhere. Period. Their General Tso's and Orange Beef are also out of this world. Basically everything on the menu is worth trying, and it's a BYOB. Perfect for date night or just craving-Chinese-food night. If you're coming from Center City, the Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail gets you there in 20 minutes and drops you off less then a block away from the restaurant. Make it a point to give Hunan a try, you won't regret it.

Had a great meal here last night and being a BYOB is a nice plus. The spicy stuffed pepper with pork was a unique and delicious app. I had the seafood with noodles entree and that was excellent as well. My wife's chicken dish was very good but had a tad too much broccoli. Best part of going here is talking to the owners. They are the institution of this main line institution!!

I asked for Hunan Chicken "really, really spicy."  I got exactly what I ordered.  The chef came out and talked about how he was able to get it so hot while still maintaining flavor, and the pickled peppers on the side made it even better.

Great service, great portions, great time.

There is just no comparison... I grew up in the area but have since moved away and cannot find anything that even comes close to the flavors of the dishes at Hunan. Whenever I am  back in town, even if it is just for a short weekend, I make time for a meal here.

Favorites include:

appetizer-hot peppers w/ beef (spicy)
entrees- moo shu pork, lemon chicken, shrimp  w/ black bean sauce

Had heard this was great and looked forward to trying it.
Nice quiet room and understated decor.  Table for two quite narrow.
Scored 5 star with excellent appetizer of braised hot and sweet peppers.  Was impressed that you could order with no MSG or light oil.  But no choice of white/brown rice.  Brown is $2 extra.
Entrees disappointing.  Had string beans in garlic sauce.  Could hardly taste the garlic.  Then Hunan shrimp which had lovely onions, undercooked shrimp and little taste, though it was supposed to be spicy.
Sadly, I have crossed this off my list, even though it is close to me.

Chinese is Chinese, until the Chef brigns you out all spice fried chicken with ginger maple syrup!

I bought a Living Social deal for Hunan, figuring I'd give it a whirl. Being in Conshy, it's not exactly next door, but I do love a new restaurant.

Wow, we were blown away! The service was phenomenal; the food was out of this world!

Everything we ordered had a kick to it...spicy' s how I like it! The stuffed peppers, spring rolls, three pepper chicken, Dan Dan noodles, and Orange Beef were out of this world!

The stuffed peppers absolutely delighted...with seed-in stuffing, spicy doesn't begin to describe it. So good!

Between our main course & apps, the chef himself brought us out something he was experimenting with (chicken & waffles). The chicken was perfectly crisp, with a unique taste of all spice...the dipping sauce of maple/ginger syrup complimented it beautifully. It was so sweet he brought it out and my taste buds thanked him!

The Dan-Dan noodles with spicy pork....first bite tasted almost of chocolate....although we knew it was the peanut oil, this dish was awesome.

Overall, this restaurant really surprised me, in a I'd divinely make the 20 minute drive to Ambler for more tasty experiments.

Oh Hunan, what happned to you, my dear old friend?

Brought one faithful dining companion there last week, very excited to show her the fabulous Hunan I had experienced before.  She also had not been there in many years.

Hunan let us down.

Start with the appetizer - veggie dumplings steamed and an egg roll.  The egg roll was honestly quite tasteless.  As in, it had texture but absolutely no taste.

Dumplings saved the appetizer round as they were very nice.

Then, on to the main course.  I ordered a repeat  Mongoilan Beef, which this time was missing....something. There was heat and there was oil but it was missing that savory with a touch of caramelized onion sweet that made it so excellent last time.

Companion ordered the ginger chicken which was OK.  Heavy flavor of ginger, not much else in terms of complexity.

Either of these dishes, along with the worlds blandest egg roll, could have come from any generic chinese restaurant #7.

I has a sad.  I give it 2 stars only because they have shown they *can* be fabulous.  Just not, as it seems, consistently so.

Though you can classify the food as typically Americanized Chinese fare, Hunan is still a definite go-to restaurant, whether you're looking for the quintessential General Tso's or more authentic fare like mapo tofu and dan-dan noodles.  Since their re-opening after the unfortunate kitchen fire, changes have been made to both the restaurant decor and the menu -- both significantly amazing upgrades, in my mind.

If you're puzzled by the bevy of starters, go for the hot and sour soup (the flavour isn't dulled down for Main Line tastes, btw), scallion pancakes, and salt-and-pepper calamari.  Our favourites are the two aforementioned mapo tofu and dan-dan noodles, though I wouldn't skip the seafood delight in taro basket.  Last visit, we were lucky enough to order the lobster special (off menu) which reminded me of many a Chinese banquet dinner in my childhood.  Everything is served with plenty of rice and a smile.

Aside from the food, what sets Hunan apart from other Chinese restaurants are the owners, who frequently patrol the tables and kindly ensure that you have everything that you need.  Servers are attentive and friendly, quick to clear your plates and fill up your empty teapot with hot water.

And though you'll receive slices of orange and a fortune cookie for the road, don't miss out on the Shanghai beignets -- warm, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, drippy with condensed milk, heaven in your mouth.  What are you waiting for?!

You will like this place if you like the following:
1) American Chinese food
2) Dishes such as Gen Tso Chicken, MooShu anything, or shrimp & Brocolli
3) Like restaurants such as Marg Guo, Foo, YangMing, PFChang.

Honestly, this is not a place for authentic chinese food.  If you take the menu from Hunan and went to China, people will think its an American restaurant.  Its like people going to olive garden thinking its authentically italian.  If you are looking for tasty food, then you are ok.  If you are looking for authenticity, there are none around this area.

We got takeout.  Most of the dishes were very good.  In particular, the Moo Shu was excellent; very light with nice thin pancakes and a nice-flavored hoisin.  The sesame noodles were also refreshingly light and had a nice flavor.  The General Tso's chicken seemed OK; have never had it before to compare.  Dumplings were good.  Scallion pancake, however, was dry, heavy and lacking flavor.  Also the dipping sauce was really not very good; not sure how to describe the taste . . . just wrong.  Overall much better than other takeout I have had in the area.

Took a cooking class here with Betty Foo (sister of more famous Susannah) 2 years ago.  Entire family who work in the restaurant are very nice.  The interior is warm and cozy.  This is not your average chinese food place.

A little on the pricey side for what you get, but great anyway.  That's what you get if you are in ritzy Ardmore, anyway.   Good for large parties because they have large round tables.  Great service.

I learned to make a mean hot and sour soup and to get the best soy sauce ever (Kimlan).  Right between the  Ardmore Police Department and train station.  Easy to miss.

Fantastic food and service, earning every star.

My wife and I hesitated to try Hunan since it looked like a dark, windowless greasy dive from the outside, but once we peeked inside, we realized how wrong we were.  The restaurant is simply but elegantly decorated, the waitstaff are attentive but not obtrusive, and the food is consistently delicious... and I can't think of another Chinese restaurant in the area I'd say that about.

Take some risks with the menu... I haven't had a bad dish yet, and I venture to guess you won't either.

BYOB-- I highly recommend dropping by Bella Italia Pizza down the street and picking up a bottle of Brooklyn Brewery's "Local 1" Belgian strong pale ale... great stuff.

I feel like Hunan has gotten a lot better since it remodeled/re-opened this summer.  We've been going there for dine-in and take-out regularly over the past few months and haven't hit a bad dish.  My go-to option is the spicy 3-pepper chicken.  Kid-friendly and a nice neighborhood atmosphere.  Best chinese we've found on the main line... by far.

Went in there expecting it to be a normal plasticy pink Chinese American Restaurant. Walked in though and the atmosphere was fantastic. A modern Asian bistro feel.
Everyone there was very friendly, and I was very satisfied with the food. Went in wanting Chinese food and I got that with all the dishes being full of flavor (probably full of MSG, but it won't kill me having it every now and then!) My favorite part was their fortune cookies, and the fact they give slices of orange too. Also, where some restaurants pass out bread, upon sitting down they give the table a complimentary amuse- bouche cucumber salad which is delicious.
It is also a  little cheaper option than Sang Kee the Asian bistro in Wynnewood that everyone loves. I will definitely be going back to Hunan!

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the area.  This place compares well with those in the downtown/Chinatown area.  Spicy dishes are spicy but the ingredients retain their flavors and textures.  The menu is not that expansive but the overall quality is quite good.  Their simple steamed rice is also good (I think this is a good indicator of how good an Asian restaurant is).  This applies to their dinner items ( I have not had their lunch stuff).   But, some items on the menu should be removed - not good.

This is definitely the best Chinese food in the area, and perhaps even in Philadelphia. It is an intimate restaurant adorned with paintings by the owner of the restaurant. The service is great; they are attentive and respectful.

The food hails from the Hunan province of China, which is known to be spicy. However, the restaurant has tamed many of the dishes. Hunan makes clean tasting dishes without the thick gooey sauces you may be accustomed to. Their dishes are the closest to real Chinese home cooking. If you are looking for recommendations, try:
egg drop soup, fried calamari, smoked fish, scallion pancake, pork with dry tofu, general Tso chicken, ginger chicken, string beans with pork, hunan chicken, buddha's delight, mango chicken, or hunan shrimp.

I've converted many of my friends to eating good chinese food by taking them here.

Also, this restaurant is consistently great!

I've eaten here on multiple occasions & am always happy with my fare.
Nicely presented Chinese with fresh veggies & tender meat.  Everything is always very tasty.  Large portions but not outrageously huge (as in you prolly won't have leftovers for days afterwards like from many Chinese places).
Service is great & willing to help with any questions you may have about the menu items.  While they aren't particularly out of the ordinary dishes, there are no descriptions on the menu which can be a tad confusing.
Their iced tea is especially delicious too!
You can get takeout here, but I think the food is really best eaten in.  Their dining room is small but nice & the little finger foods you get once you're seated are very yummy!!
OH!! Can't forget to mention -- the fortune cookies you get from them are chocolate dipped!  Delish!
