Great atmosphere in a very quaint little town. Food and drinks a little pricey but I must admit the drinks were generous pours. Â I had one of the daily specials and loved the dish but the meatballs were very disappointing at this price point. Â They were certainly not homemade... And in fact not even hot.
Review Source:This is pretty good Italian food. Â I had the beat salad which was good. Â I had the orichetti bolognese which was good, but I have had better. Â My friend had the veal scaloppine - which she said was not so good. Â The bread (focaccia) was cold and could have been warm/toasted. Â We will probably try another place next time. Â Other than that service was good and the cheesecake was pretty good.
Review Source:We had dinner here last night with a party of about 25 people before a show at the Music Hall. Not only was the food excellent, but the owner and wait staff were very efficient, pleasant and attentive. They managed to get everyone served at the same time and no one had any complaints at all about their entree. The only thing I could possibly complain about is that we were told they didn't have pizza available that night, and I would have like to try it. I would eat here again if I'm ever in the area.
Review Source:I've eaten here once for lunch and twice for dinner now.
While I agree that the prices are higher than other restaurants around, the portions are pretty large and the food is spectacular. Â The menu is a great blend traditional Italian with unique twists. Â We split the asparagus appetizer, spinach/ricotta raviolis and the compagna pizza....everything was delicious. Â We ended up taking half of the pizza home.
The reason why I gave Isabella's five stars (besides the food) was the atmosphere and great service. Â Really attentive, informative and charismatic. Â The low lit dining room and great music put everything together. Â Additionally, the restaurant seemed extremely clean and well kept.
The best Italian food around.
I came here for lunch. Â The food was good but really overpriced. Â
An appetizer of burrata (cheese) over a bed of greens was $21; mushroom ravioli was $18. Â There are definitely other restaurants with the same quality/better food at a more reasonable price point so wouldn't recommend.
My husband and I had a http://Restaurant.com certificate worth $25 that the owner refused to honor. He claimed he never signed a contract with them and that a former waiter signed him up. Â No matter the history - and it's not the $25 - but who treats a customer that way?? Â Apparently, he'd rather lose a repeat customer than $25.
When we reminded him that we live in town and frequently eat out, he said, "I've never seen you before", even though this was our third visit. Â Who needs that kind of treatment? Â Food just OK - prices high - and owner has no sense of hospitality. Â Tarry Tavern, Chiboust, and Sweet Grass on the same street much better food, real hospitality, better value.
Great experience here. It gets really crowded on the weekends so make reservations. Â They have this special fresh mozzerella appetizer there sometimes which is the BEST fresh mozzarella I have ever had. I'd go to Isabella's just for that. However, it has other great features as well. The fresh pasta is great, the wine list is long, and the desserts are yummy also. It's on the expensive side but I'd say that is the norm for the area.
