    Well color me impressed!

As somebody who in a past life managed a popular beer bar and now has a job that sends him to a ridiculous number of restaurants and bars, I know a good watering hole when I see one. And J O B is one of the best bars I've visited in recent memory.

This is the mother of all whiskey bars, with over 200 options from which to choose. Feeling cheap? Get a $3.50 shot of Old Crow. Feeling like a baller? Get a $70-ish pour of Pappy Van Winkle. There is a small but well thought out selection of seasonal craft cocktails. The moral of the story, is that with their wildly impressive selection of whiskeys, scotches and ryes, there's something here for every taste. And that wall of bourbons? It's a beautiful site.

It was slow-ish on my visit, so I enjoyed talking with the bartenders, learning about the bar and their passion for whiskey. Because of my history in the industry, I've ran into many a beer geeks, but I had never seen that level of passion in spirits. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable about their offerings, and love to share that info with their guests. Plus, they're generally funny and great with customer service.

And what's more, the decor is top notch. The bar itself is gorgeous, reminiscent of an old saloon. The ceiling is pressed tin and in fantastic condition. The floor is vintage porcelain tile in parts, the rest rustic hardwood. The walls host a number of interesting pieces of art that are whimsical but not kitschy. It's an incredibly masculine but welcoming space, and I love it.

If I lived in the same bar as this town, it would definitely become a regular stop. Instead, I'm just going to have to settle for it being another reason to make more trips to Springfield.

Great vibe!  My friends decided to grab a bite for dinner and landed here.  Cool tin ceilings, church-pew seating.  The menu is printed on manila folders.  It's basically some apps, a few salads, and "cubicles".  Cubicles are basically little sliders that come in sets of 2.  I wish you could order 2 different flavors but just bring a buddy and swap second sandwiches.  Had the ham and apple slaw (awesome) and the beef TTPS report (good but not quite as awesome as the ham).  Tasty!  Huge bar and happy hour every day until 7.  Love it!

We've been to The J.O.B. several times over the past year, and normally enjoy our visit.  The Kentucky Hot Browns are great as well as the Cheeseburgers.  The fries are also excellent.

The last time we went must have been an off night since the cheeseburgers didn't taste the same as they normally do.  The service was great that night, however.  As long as they continue concentrating on the quality of the food, they'll stick around.

Awesome food and drink, laid back atmosphere. I'm happy they're finally getting settled in (getting a sign for out front, for instance) -- they're now open Monday through Saturday, with happy hour from 4-7p.  Excellent service, chill clientele.  I go there every time I'm in Springfield -- my husband is usually happy to make the trip down at the mention of the JOB.  Our favorites are the Cubicle sandwiches and the Three Amigos (mini taco salads), and you can't go without getting a side of fries sprinkled with brown sugar.  Grab a Mother's beer or check out their variety of liquor. They have over 180 different types of whiskey!  The white Russians are my all-time favorite.

Love this place. The only place in town where you can get great local food that feeds two people for $11 total. Split 4 cubicles and fries with your partner, and you'll be more than satisfied. Yummy food. Pleasant staff.

I have eaten at JOB 3 or 4 times now and I think they've really hit their stride. The Kentucky Hot Brown is a must order--it's pretty rosemary heavy, which I love, and I tried the Italian Cubicles last time and liked them. The fries are soooo good (brown sugar!!) and they're unlimited (and your server won't act annoyed if you want to order multiple baskets)! Ordering 4 of the "cubicles" is also an awesome deal because it can EASILY feed two people and it's only $10.50. The only thing about JOB that bums me out is that they're closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

TERRIBLE! While looking forward to a hip new restaurant, we were very disappointed. This was by far the worst place I have been to in Springfield.

There is no sign to identify the restaurant. When we did walk in we were not greeted, we had to ask the bartender if he could take our order. It was not fun. It seems like they are trying to create a cool place to hang out, but this place was not inviting, not interesting and fell flat. Terrible service, if you can call it that.  Is it a bar? Or is it a restaurant?

The food was not good. As in... the meat resembled dog food. Greasy bun and low quality salad. The meat on the sliders looked like it came out of a can. The fries were really not that good either...

We could not get out of there quick enough.... Save your money, eat anywhere else but this place.

Judging by the other reviews, I must have gone on an off night.  The service was awful. Perhaps if I had been wearing skinny jeans and a beanie indoors someone would have at least said hello when I walked in.

There was no free seating, so we stood in the walkway until one cleared up (still with no acknowledgement). We cleared our own table, and pushed all the glasses, napkins, and tip money to the edge of the table in hopes someone would walk by and collect them. I finally tapped the gentlemen clearing the table next to ours and told him he could go ahead and take the mess...and made a joke about how we didn't want to keep the tip money.  This was apparently not funny to him, because he made a sarcastic comment about how he's not worried about three dollars and walked away.

We ordered the fries, which WERE fantastic--I have to give them props for that.  Brown sugar and sour cream...holy moly.Very tasty.  Too bad we had ZERO tableside service and had to walk to the bar to order food, beers, and get our tab. I don't care enough about converse shoes and men in scarves to put up with shit service.

It's the type of place you feel like wearing a (pre-douche era) fedora to. The vibe is hip but calm with some of the nicest and coolest people standing behind the bar. The food is delicious and original--and pairs wonderfully with their full bar and ever growing whiskey selection. One of the best no nonsense bars in downtown Springfield.

Get the Hot Brown. It Thanksgiving on a bun. You're welcome! No really, love this place. Full bar and the food is incredible. Service has been a little hit or miss, but the food is always worth it.

I was here last night and the food was awesome! By far the best of the 4 or 5 times we have eaten here.

THE FRIES. These are my favorite french fries ever. Sweet and salty. aaand they are unlimited. We also had the Kentucky Hot Brown and Italian Cubicles and they were both delicious. Keep up the good work JOB!
