I'm a huge fan of Jamba Juice and this is my favorite location. The staff is super friendly and really helpful. I have some food allergies and they're always able to clarify ingredients for me. I love the all fruit smoothies and the fruit+veggie smoothies. My favorites are Berry Upbeet, Pomegranate Perfection, and Five Fruit Frenzie.
I tried the Watermelon Splash fruit refresher, and it was good, but it could have tasted more like watermelon. The Orange Carrot Karma would have been better with more orange than carrot.
Overall, really great if you want something refreshing and tasty.
I go for the orange juice which is juiced on the spot from high quality oranges. Â I often get the smoothies as well. I like real fruit, but I have mixed opinion about he frozen fruit they use. It seems unaturally sweet and does not taste like smoothies I make at home, even with frozen berries. They would get five stars from me if they had fresh beets and a plain oatmeal option instead of granola. My ideal place would have juice and raw food options, so I am hoping to switch to Green Spirit on Ridge in Rogers Park, for a less corporate juice and food stop. I would be juicing and preparing at home more, but between all the produce in my kitchen and the compost on my porch, I have a fruit fly problem. I guess it's pretty amazing that Jamba seems to have no fruit flies. Also, I would say the prices are good, I don't seem to save any significant money preparing at home, but at home i can use the best stuff from our local Glenwood Sunday Market, well, I seem to be talking myself out of Jamba Juice, but I will still go here in a pinch, because they are open early in the morning and I like the staff and the buy six get one free juice card.
Review Source:Some people may realize visiting Starbucks 3 times a day : morning, lunch and early afternoon is NOT COSTLY...
No to mention you are NOT GETTING VITAMIN C from coffee which is an important nutrient for the immune system.
Jamba Juice is the answer. The price of one Juice equals 2 starbucks visit and BETTER NUTRITIONAL VALUE.
Why should I get addicted to drinking early morning lattes and catch coffee diarrehea into the later afternoon.
I rather have one nutritional drink that will benefit my immune system and cleanse my body.
The only drawback to this establishment is parking. Yes I live in evanston and parking is a pain for getting to this place because its in the downtown district.
I like this particular Jamba Juice because the lines are never long and the staff is always on top of their game. Jamba Juice is certainly delicious, and I love that it's reasonably healthy. It helps me get through the days of fruit-lacking dorm food.
Beyond that though, the smoothies could be a little more creative -- I'd love things that are a little tangier, etc. Definitely overpriced. And while the staff is quite friendly, every time I go in there they try and push some kind of "deal" on me -- do I want flatbread? Do I want this and that boost for just a bit more? I know they're doing their job, but honestly.
Believe it or not, I am actually reviewing another Jamba Juice! Â I know I'm an addict when I visit a chain more than twice and review my experiences! Â The funny thing is I give evil looks to those who frequent Starbucks...but at least JJ is healthy! Â
This Evanston Jamba receives a review not for the prices (because they're still too expensive for what you get--and have recently increased) but for the quick/friendly service, lack of lines and recommending the Chunky Strawberry "Ideal Meal" Granola Smoothie. Â I have tried the Berry & also the Mango Peace Topper, but it's just not this new one. Â Ahhh so refreshing and truly like a breakfast in each sip, this smoothie features: Strawberries (as the name insinuates), Bananas, Yogurt, Soymilk, Peanut Butter (yes an odd combination but yummy none-the-less), and toppings of Banana & Organic Pumpkin Flax Seed Granola. Â What's not to love?!
Okay, I'm not the best vegetarian in the world. I have very few vegetables and fruit in my refrigerator. I just don't eat much. Plus, I have to cut everything up since getting braces. Not fun (or glamorous). Anyway, along with Red Mango, I get my boost of fresh fruit from Jamba Juice. It is an addiction. I mean, how can you not like Jamba Juice? Here's what they put in their Coldbuster: Orange Juice, Orange Sherbet, Peaches, and Bananas. I'm not a fan of peaches or bananas, but there is a certain appeal of seeing fruit (not from a can) being blended into my drink. I doubt Jamba Juice would be approved by Jack Lalanne (fitness and nutrition icon and inventor of several juicer machines who is in his 90's), but a cup of mixed fruit can surely do you some good. (If you are paranoid about sugar, they have a "Jamba Light" smoothies.) I find their stores a little invigorating with their bright, welcoming colors and fresh fruit along the wall. Their website is also quite fun. In this regard, I feel a little childish sipping the purple Acai Super-Antioxidant while walking around Evanston. Jamba Juice doesn't scream "sophistication" like a cup of espresso, but it is a NOM-my treat. It is perfect for vegans, as Jamba Juice offer soymilk and soy protein substitutes for some of their blends. (Their sherbet is not vegan!) Despite the variety of juice blends, they do emphasize on simplicity. Their smoothies usually contain fruits and another ingredient. That's it. Cheers to that.
Review Source:Never really a long line and if there is one, it is moving really fast. This space is so tiny that it has the potential to get claustrophobic. The staff are friendly and make funny jokes. Yeah, add a boost, hell yeah, why not! Pomegranite Heart Happy = Me Happy! They always give me a little cup and fill it up with some of my drink for my daughter which is really nice because they could be jerks and make me buy 2 drinks. I'm not guaranteed that she'll drink it, so it is awesome that they just spill some of mine over. Good service + nummy juice smoothies = 5 stars!!!
Review Source:My favorite is Carribean Passion (minus banana + energy boost). Â I love that I can have energy added in powder form. Â The people working here are really nice, but I'm boycotting the place for awhile. Â It's a wee expensive for the wallet. Â I added my Jamba purchases up for the last 12 months and it totaled over $200.
Review Source:Jamba gets my vote for best customer service ever.
I'm addicted to their Acai smoothie. I used to have a bunch of the 2-for-1 or free smoothie coupons, which led to my constant appearance in their store.
There was one day where I ended up being charged twice for my smoothie. As a student on a restricted budget, the accidental $5 was not going to work for me. I ended up printing out part of my debit card statement and bringing it in for the manager to see. He was very apologetic and offered to credit my card. There was some trouble with that, so I ended up getting a smoothie credit (of course I'd use that!)
This will forever be one of my favorite places to head to on a break!
I love this place!!!! Â My favorite is Strawberry Nirvana with a energy boost and a burner boost. Â Mmm mmm good!!! Â And it's one of the lower calorie ones, so it's still good for you. Â I can have these as meal replacements and can make them more filling with the protein boost. Â They are always so friendly here. Â They put my "extra" in a little cup for my 3-year old so I don't have to buy her one. Â Like I said in the beginning, I just love this place, I'm hooked. Â Add a potbelly's sandwich from next door and I'm in heaven.
Review Source:Smoothies are quite good, although the matcha (sp?) tea selections can have an interesting texture. Â Not sure if it was intentional.
For the uber-health-concious, next to the counter there is a book of nutritional info, which is negated by the greasily delicious pretzels displayed right in front of you as you order. Â Ah, well, they can try.
