Jason's Deli - where have you gone? Â I started coming here about two years ago and was thrilled to have found a safe place to bring kids, get a decent priced dinner, and free ice cream. Â The service was always great and the food pretty damn good. Â The last couple of times though, I am left scratching my head. Â Last visit was upset that my sons meal came out super cold (and took forever!) and we asked for the side of fruit and got, literally, three grapes and a strawberry. Â WTF? Â I am not feeding a squirrel, I am feeding a 40 lb 4 year old boy! Â I had to go ask for a realistically sized side order. Â I ordered the reuben, asked for some modifications, came out wrong. Â Sent it back. Wrong again. Â Visit before that, tried to order their portabello pasta (which I think is just gone now) and they had raw cold mushrooms on it. Â Again, WTF? Â They said they couldn't cook it. Â How the HELL can you NOT cook food in a RESTAURANT?? Â To top it all off, we just ordered in for a lunch meeting today and I ordered the chicken pasta primo, and got chicken alfredo instead. Â Normally, I would like chicken alfredo, but this is horribly undercooked pasta, practically NO sauce, and dried out chunks of chicken. Â I have had better pasta made by Chef Boyardee. Â What does Jason's have against sauces and giving their food any kind of moisture? Â I read in other reviews people had the same complaints with the sandwiches, and I heartily concur. Â I like that they use locally sourced foods and organic options, but other than that, their food has just gone to hell. Â Won't be back ever.
Review Source:I ordered today for lunch and it was here when they said it was going to be here. Â It took them about 1 hr from the time I ordered. Â I thought the $7 delivery charge was high and especially when the require a $25 minmum to deliver. Â I was very satisfied with the food. Â I ordered spicy seafood gumbo soup and a half of a sandwich and it was good. Â My co worker orders the tomato basil soup with half sandwich and she also enjoyed it.
Review Source:I've been here a handful of times and it's just so-so.
In an attempt to be healthy I ordered a turkey wrap. Do not recommend. There was literally 1-2 slices of turkey that I couldn't taste and everything else in the wrap were the exact things from the salad bar. Dry and tasteless. Don't order it.
You're better off getting a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. I have had it really good and I've also had it bad. A couple of times the meat was super fatty, and a couple of times the corned beef tasted.. off. I know corned beef is a hit or miss when you go to any deli or even making it at home. Sometimes you get a good cut of meat and sometimes, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I've had a good sandwich from here though.
I had a pot roast sandwich once, and it was pretty good.
I've gotten the salad bar several times and I like it.
It's an OK place to grab a quick bite locally. Occasionally though, because I wouldn't want to go more than a couple times a month.
