It's in a giant, soulless, corporate, airport hotel lounge on Century Blvd -- but there's free, validated parking. Â There's a "suggested" $15 food/drink minimum, but with a free show and free parking, order up already and enjoy.
The room is an odd shape and usually too bright. Â The waitstaff never seems to know much about much, and they are marginally competent in that unionized, soulless, no-one-seems-to-like-their-job, corporate hotel kind of way.
The jazz here seems to be a bit more of the safe, commercial variety compared to the Culver Club (booked by the same folks). Â Maybe that's intentional, but maybe that's just my luck of the draw.
Three sets starting at 730. Sometimes there's a nominal cover charge.
Last night my husband & I went to hear some jazz.
It was our first time going and I am glad we went to a hotel to hear some for the first time....we didn't know what to expect...but I had an idea of how it would be since it is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
the lounge was large.  I thought the space was  a little too big to really get the jazz feel...but what do I know?  I'm just a novice at going to hear someone play.
The band was cool....the one thing that stuck with me was the piano player did some of Art Tatum's work. Â that was amazing! Â I really enjoyed that.
The crowd was a bit older...lots of older guys and a few couples sprinkled throughout. Â
The food was typical hotel fare but nonetheless...good. Â I enjoyed myself!
My friends and I went to the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 8/24 to hear a neighbor and friend, Janis Mann, perform in their lounge. Â
On Thursdays from 6-10 PM, the hotel lounge offers  "Jazz at the Crowne".  Janis was excellent (check out her website <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.janismann.com&s=d7b1bc60f3cf90bfcf24941f04874493a6630ca51980f3984cf30420b0ce8942" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.janismann.com</a>), and her quartet was awesome!  They did three sets. Â
The lounge is large and the place was packed! Â It made me feel as though I was in Las Vegas back in the 60's. Â
Good viewing from any corner of the room.  Casual dress. House chardonnay  was only $6.00...not bad at all considering there was entertainment!  There is no cover charge for Thursday's, unless stated.  Good idea to call ahead if you're planning on jazzing it up! Â

Free parking across the street in Self-parking, but was a hassle, so came back to Valet parking and it only cost $6.00 with validation from the lounge. Â So worth it when you're tripping in high heels!
