Jersey Mike's Subs

OMG what chaos! Why should I have to go through that to just get lunch? The lines were planned by a total idiot. Even the DMV has their act together in this respect! I got in line and was there for about 5 minutes. There is nowhere to look at a menu while you're waiting so you just have to wing it.

Apparently, there is a hot and cold sub line and I am supposed to psychically know this. Well, pardon me for getting in the wrong line! I committed the heinous mortal sin of ordering a hot sub in the cold sub line. You'd think I asked them to empty the register! The prep guy (aka Soup Nazi) got all rude and started yelling at someone who came to take my order. (We'll call her Ms Thang.) Ms Thang inarticulately takes my order & writes it on a piece of paper that she hands to me. She then told me to go to what I heard as the "gray register." (Sorry, I have mild hearing loss & the place was loud. Sue me.) I looked around for a few minutes and decided that this made no sense. There were people standing around and I couldn't tell where the line for the alleged "gray register" was. And after thinking about the price I was paying, I couldn't rationalize spending nearly $10 and being treated like this. So, I just left and went somewhere else.

Annoying since I've been to the location in Aurora and had no problems :(

They aren't horrible...  The employees are friendly.  They have decent coupons!?

Ok, ok... I just wasn't impressed.  I am always excited when I find a good sandwich that is flavorful, fresh, and reasonable for the quality.  Meh.

I had a coupon, so I tried it.  I'm definitely more of a Jimmy John's girl, when I'm looking for quick, cheap sandwich fix during lunch - but hey, I've never been here before so I figured maybe I was missing out.  I got the #7 Turkey Sub - which is apparently one of their best sellers.  I decided to 'live it up' and get it "mike's way" - which includes lettuce, onion, tomatoes, vinegar, oil, and spices.  

It was fine - I could have probably made myself a better sandwich, but it was convenient.  It was very messy, lettuce and onion falling out everywhere and the oil and vinegar made it drip everywhere.  The bread was ok, the turkey wasn't horrible - but I will say that the red vinegar really did add a nice, unique flavor!!

(They also wanted me to join their mike's club rewards club or something - which always annoys me at places.  You can't force customer loyalty in that way. Either your product deserves it and it happens, or it doesn't.)

Not sure what the big deal is about this place, it seems like a regular sandwhich joint to me.

Hero sub sandwiches. Eh, I've had better. Plus, they're over-priced if you ask me.
