Oh thank gosh I found this location ! ! I almost gave up on jersey mikes ! Whenever I'm in the mood for a satisfying sandwich ..I grab my boyfriend and we head to this location....sure it's out of the way when I could just go to the other el toro location BUT Â we make the drive here because of their amazing customer service and consistent great sandwiches ! Whoever the manager of this place that does the hiring is great ! I love all of the workers that work here... They all seem to be cool college students that are really friendly and know how to make a great sandwich . Thanks guys !!!
Review Source:This is the best location for Jersey Mike's I have ever gone too! You can tell that this location is family owned, it's not just some random franchised location that is just out to make money. The workers are really friendly, and they are very generous with the amount of meat they put on your sandwich! I've gone to other locations of Jersey Mike's before and did not have a very good experience which made me almost give up on going to Jersey Mikes. However, ever since I found this location, I have become a regular! I highly recommend this location especially for first time goers!
Review Source:I like their sandwiches, which are 4 stars, but they are sooo expensive (for a sandwich that is) that they lose a star. To make it worse, they don't accept coupons on a mobile device, so I just paid $14 for a sandwich. It was a huge sandwich, mind you, but even if I had split it with someone else, it would still be $7 each.
Review Source:Jersey Mikes is by far the best sub place around. Sure, it's a couple more bucks than Subway or Quiznos, but there is no comparison in the quality and freshness of the ingredients.
My fave is the #7, on wheat with white American cheese, mike's way/ light oil. The cherry pepper relish is also a good addition if you want a little heat.
The people that work at this location are very friendly and several of them take the time to chat with me as I'm a regular. And they are very enthusiastic about the tips- "College Fund!"
Born and raised in the Philly area, I know my HOAGIES. Â Not subs, hoagies. Â Regardless of the semantics the sandwich I had (#13) was very good. Â Meat is sliced right in front of you and bread is fresh. Â Not an Amoroso roll mind you, but a decent roll.
Meat was very good, cheese not as sharp as I like it, and the hots spread (guy behind counter did not know what "hots" meant, no worries) was also very good. Â Fresh tomatoes, and lettuce and Mike's Way is oil/vinegar and oregano/spices. Â Sandwich was very tasty... still I miss hoagies.
The staff is friendly and the service quick. Â Seems as though they like to get to know their regulars. Â Found out this is a "feature" of the chains and it is a nice touch to get that back East feel.
Minimal Tastykake selection... so a care package is in order!
My boyfriend called to complain due to one employee's mistake (also provided proof of his mistake with my card company). . After calling to explain what occurred they have been responsive, willing to resolve the issue and hopefully avoid the error in the future. I am increasing stars based on the business owning up to the mistake on behalf of the employee and attempting to make it right.
I will give a true overall update in the near future....
I had the roast beef today. I like that they cut the meat in front of you. I ate it in the restaurant like always. Being Italian I will try the Italian sandwich next time. It is a different solar system from the subway. It is more expensive! What ever happened to the 5 dollar combo meals? Jolly Good!!
Review Source:Love this place. It's a simple menu and there's not many bread choices. They slice the meats and cheese right there in front of you and they stack it pretty well. It's a big step up from Subway. Prices are a little high, but they do have some promotional stuff (coupons, etc) as well if you keep your eyes open.
Review Source:Jersey Mike's subs are absolutely the best. Subway and Quiznos simply don't measure up. The meat is sliced right in front of you, and they put lots of it on your sandwich. The staff is very friendly and take the time to learn your name if you come in often. The bread is fresh and delicious. Really a great place!
Review Source:Ohhh myyy, the buffalo chicken wrap was, AMAZING! Â The level of hotness was perfect, not spicy burn your mouth but spicy savory. Â Loved it, and the blue cheese on it was yummy too. Â The only reason I didn't give a 5 was because the service was kinda slow, I think someone right before us ordered like 20 of the giant subs and wanted different things on each so we had to wait about 10 minutes before ordering. Â Not bad but it would've been if we were on our lunch break or in a rush.
Review Source:Jersey Mike's Subs are not great, but not bad either. Â And they are definitely a step up from Subway or Togos.
I went with the Club Sandwich on white which comes with turkey, ham and bacon. Â I ordered it with the chili paste along with the usual veggies. Â The regular size, which is about 6 inches along with the water came out to a pricey $10. Â Although they have a "mini" size which is $2 cheaper. Â I usually try not to spend that on lunch in general, let alone on a sandwich.
And this location is busy. Â It's near a Leisure World and a golf course, so there is a lunch rush of mostly a senior crowd.
Place is delicious... word of caution after eating here subway and quiznos just don't do it for you anymore.
#1 Always do it "Mike's Way"
The meat and cheese and even bread taste like a good sandwhich should... its pricey but you get the reason after you eat it. Â It's worth it.
Got to get the red chili paste (or whatever it is) its last item they offer for toppings.
Delicious.
My favorite sandwich/subs.
Watch for coupons in the book that goes out.
Love the staff, the stories and laughs.
Sandwiches are always delicious.
Please post all prices for soups.
Their giant is awesome. Pretty clean. Â Don't forget to tip well. These guys are great.
Again,...the 3star because it's well,...a sub place. Â I do wish they used nicer bacon for the sandwiches.
Go here and EAT! We go later - it's nutz at lunch. We go around 7:30 or so for dinner. The Giant with chips and a drink will feed us for dinner for two and lunch the next day -
FYI - the chicken spicy soup was aaahmazing!
TIP THESE GUYS!
First time coming here.
They had good tasting sandwiches. I'm looking forward to coming back again and trying something different.
I ordered a #20 which was the Pastrami Reuben. Sounded great, but wasn't as fabulous as I thought it would be. I was hoping that I could have some lettuce on it, something fresh to counter the hot dense meat, but I guess it's not part of the sandwich deal.
So with just the meat, melted cheese, and dressing, it was pretty dense, thick and some parts dry because I ate just meat and bread. The meat had a good taste no lie, I'm a sucker for pastrami. But next time, maybe I'll try a cold sandwich and see the perks of meat and vegetables.
I am a fan though :) Nice people too.
The place is nice and clean. Mark the 'Sandwich Specialist' was friendly and made some great suggestions. I was impressed that he knew my friend, where he worked, and his usual sandwich (my friend goes there often).
I had the #9 - Club Supreme. (from the menu) "Made with our store cooked top-round roast beefs, fresh grilled bacon, lean turkey breast and Swiss cheese, the Club Supreme is loaded with flavor. Order one and you'll be hooked!"
It was big even though I got the Mini.
I'm a Subway fan but after eating there I may not go back to Subway!
The food was ok. My husband loved the cheese steak sandwich he got. I got a #7 with salami. I thought the meat was a little salty. But there was something about the people there...i was just uncomfortable in the restaurant. Â The people were nice but...just ...there was something about the whole process of getting a sandwich that really confused me.
Review Source:The guys here were really friendly. I mentioned that I was vegan and wanted the veggie wrap with almost all the vegetables they had, and they did just that. They were really nice, and even gave my a 10% discount for working across the street. The only downside is that they're a bit pricey for a sandwich, but for my wrap and the amount of vegetables they stuffed in it, I'm satisfied with it.
Review Source:LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
I'm not a big sandwich person, but when I'm craving one, I'll def find a Jersey Mikes.
They are so good.
I usually get them on wheat bread, and "Mikes way" is a must!
For me, I usually get the #9 or #13.
Well, not too much else I can write about a sandwich, so I guess you'll have to just try them for yourself and hopefully you like it.
:)
I stayed at the Ayres hotel for almost a week and frequented this place for a meal almost every day. The wraps are cheaper than the sandwhiches and are just as good. My recommendation is the Baja Chicken to go with some spicy or hot chips.
It's obviously not a place like subway, which can be good and bad depending on how they handle their strengths and weaknesses. Luckily, they nailed their pre-built flavors (Quiznos doesn't compare) but their prices are a bit high if you want a large full meal. Also, their service is a lot less regimented, I've had super friendly service and then service from someone who simply didn't want to be there and had a lot of attitude.
Overall though, I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a meal in the form of a sub or wrap since you don't need to rely on the service anyways.
This is by far the best Jersey Mike's around. They are often less crowded than the other ones, and it's fun to chat up the Leisure World folks while you're waiting :)
I can't believe I only found out about Jersey Mike's six months ago. I mourn the experiences I could have enjoyed when I went to Togo's or Subway. Had I but known.
I usually stick to the Italian or the Club and of course I get it Mike's way. The servers here are always super friendly and the meat and cheese is fresh.
Oh...and watch your circulars/coupon books because they always have 2 for 1s in there and other deals.
You can NOT buy a better sandwich anywhere. Hands down, the best sandwiches and wraps I have EVER TASTED. I love this place times twenty gazillion! Â
I have been to two of their local locations [in Orange & Laguna] and both were outstanding in food, service, and otherwise. You absolutely MUST eat here.
Thanks Jersey Mike for bringing a better sub to hoagie than most CA sub shops (or chains). I have to say, I was more of a fan b4 I found out it had more than 500 locations worldwide bc I'm more a fan of mom and pops shops. I guess I should've noticed by your good advertising signs and such. Â We went to this location instead of the other one down the road bc it had more stars ha. I don't really like the Subway/Togo's order in line through glass window corporate style, but I guess you have to do that if you have a lot of customers. Â
Anyways, on to the food. Â Bf got the Italian sub, yummy. Mike's way with oil/vinegar/spices. They carve all the meat in front of you so everythings fresh. Â I was like do these ppl serve lunch meat here?! (they don't). Can get mini, regular or large subs (but only reg/lg cheesesteaks).
I was hungover so had to get something greasy and hot...therefore I went for the Chipotle cheesesteak. Â I'm a fan of cheesesteak hoagies (lettuce and mayo on my cheesesteak to give it a hot and cold combination; also, the mayo mixes in w the cheese so well. (Light on the mayo if I'm feeling healthy, but I'm not usually eating a cheesesteak when I'm feeling healthy). Anyways, it was yummy.
Large subs are like $13 and you can split them up into 6 slices or whatever if your trying to bring a few over someone's house for football. Â However, the oil and such doesn't sit well for too long.
I was recommended to try this place by the locals here in Laguna. Â I am very glad I did!
Good: The servers were very welcoming and well-trained. Â They were knowledgeable and honest in "educating" me on their subs. Â I was recommended to try the Original Italian (Provolone, ham, proscuittini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni, tomatoes, sweet onions with Jersey Mike's famous red vinegar and olive oil duo and seasoning). Â I remember watching the Travel Channel on Food Paradise - Subs episode and the servers also mentioned it that the Original Italian was the featured sub! Â For $11, I had an approximately 16" sub that fed me, a fairly big man, dinner and lunch for the next day. Â The sub was DELICIOUS and if you're into spicy, their cherry pepper relish was amazing!
Bad: I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Overall: Great service, very clean, well-educated, enthusiastic employees and delicious food!
i absolutely love this place. Great location. Professional and friendly staff. Amazingly delicious sandwiches!
The food is amazing. Well, I've actually only tried 2 sandwiches. Both fall under the Hot Sandwich category.
My number one choice would be the Big Kahuna Cheesesteak with Chipotle Mayo. It is super spicy, but SUPER yummy. I always get it with steak (vs chicken). It comes with grilled peppers, jalapenos, mushrooms, onions, and perfectly melted creamy cheese!
I work right down the street, so I sometimes like to mix up my preference. My second choice would be the Grilled Pastrami Reuben. The swiss cheese with thousand island... & sauerkrat melt perfectly together.
Prices are reasonable for what you get. The Regular size is perfect for one person- you could probably even save some of it for a snack a few hours later. The Giant size... is no joke. It's huge! I usually split it with my boyfriend, and we SOMETIMES will have leftovers.. but it's seriously.. HUGE.
Yum!
Sorry subway, sorry Jared. I went to you for healthy food, with my oven roasted chicken breast on wheat, extra veggies, no mayo no oil. It was good food that filled me up with protein and good burning energy.
Then I found Jersey Mike's subs and had the Big Kahuna Cheese steak. Or should I say the Big Kahuna had me. I was strong for about 5 seconds before that lovingly shredded beef rolling around in melted cheese stole me away, any fight I had left my body as I saw the bread slowly start to get soaked from all that grilled onion/beef/cheese juice that was dripping down. I had to save the sandwich, so I gorged and gorged and gorged and I realized screw Subway and screw Jared and his condescending encouragement. Jersey Mike's makes putting on the pounds just too freaking delicious.
Let me just preface this review with this: I work across the parking lot from Jersey Mike's. Â I don't have a big choice when I want to get a quick lunch - it's either Chinese or Hometown Buffet. Â
With that said, I have become a Jersey Mike's regular - eating there twice a week like clockwork since they opened.I have tried many of the subs on the menu and I usually teeter between the #7 (turkey and swiss) and the #56 (Big Kahuna Cheese Steak).  Both of the subs are fantastic in many ways. But I am getting ahead of myself.
All the subs at Jersey Mike's are pretty good. Â They are about 8 inches and are chock full of meat and toppings - enough to fill up even a big eater. Â They have giant subs that are about 16 inches - easily split between two people or one offensive lineman. Â The roast beef is roasted in house (and is awesome) and they have a good selection of fancy deli meats (with fancy Italian names). Â They have soups, salads and any sub can be served in a "tub" without the bun for all those carb counters.
What really makes Jersey Mike's great is the staff. Â The crew working there always remembers my face, name and complex order. Â They have great recommendations - but will honestly tell you if a sub isn't that good (the Chicken Parm). Â They are very friendly, helpful and have great memories! Â One example - I once got a sub in which the bread was a bit stale (the first and only time this happened in over 100 subs ordered/enjoyed). Â I simply mentioned to the manager that the bread might need to be re-baked and the manager thanked me. Â The next time I came in the manager had my usual order waiting for me, on the house. Â Really great customer service.
Bottom line - if you like great subs and are in the area - EAT HERE - you won't regret it and you might never want to eat at Subway ever again.. I know I don't.
Somehow I became a fan of MTV's "Jersey Shore", I mean that show is so bad, it's good! Last night as I awaited the newest episode to air, my mother-in-law suggested we go get sandwiches from Jersey Mikes. Now coincidentally Jersey Mike's Subs was founded at the Jersey Shore! So it was literally "Jersey Night" yesterday.
Now I had never eaten here, my wife and her mom had given this location is right down the street from the in-law's house. I looked over the take out menu and decide to go with a "Giant" size Famous Philly Cheese Steak. The wifey ordered a giant Original Italian to split with mom.
I was not impressed with my Cheese Steak sandwich. It had red peppers in it, I would have preferred some sweet green peppers. And I couldn't pick out the red ones as they were sliced into small pieces and melted into with the cheese. I've had better Philly Cheese Steaks is all I can really say. I was however impressed with the wifey's sandwich. The cold cuts were really flavorful and the bread was good too.
The subs are on the pricey side. "Giant" sizes go for $10+. Our two sandwiches, chips and drinks came out to $27! So this isn't a sandwich shop I'd visit often. But I would like to come back eventually for an Original Italian sandwich of my own.
Winner winner submarine sandwich dinner!
It's on the way to the bf's and the sign has been beckoning me for months. Â So I decided to give this place a go last night. Â
I ordered The Super Sub for both of us except I had mine on wheat with the provolone and the bf had it on white without. Â The freshly sliced meats were ham, proscuittini, and cappacuolo. Â I also ordered a large tub of their potato salad, cleaned them out of their sugar cookies, and grabbed a bag of chips.
Now, in the bf's neck of the woods, the default opt is Subway, but from here on out, that will not be the case for me. Â I liked that everything was freshly sliced and prepared. Â Every sandwich on the menu looks like something that I definitely want to try (that almost never happens). Â And it is literally a couple blocks from the bf.
I second that the absence of avocado is saddening. Â Jersey Mike, you're in Cali, you know. Â But forking out the extra bucks for these subs is worth it to me. Â As far as the potato salad, I wish I had taken a picture of how the bf gave his best impersonation of a pig.
I'm afraid I don't share other Yelpers enthusiasm about Jersey Mike's. It's just OK to me. Not saying it's bad, just saying it's... meh.
I've had both hot and cold subs and they're always just so-so. And I thought they were overpriced considering the ratio of sandwich to cost. Not sure how they can compete against other less-expensive sub chains (one of which is right across the street), but I wish them well. Â
On the plus side the place is bright and clean and the staff is friendly.
Great sandwiches! Â I immediately drew a comparison to my other favorite sandwich shop- Submarina in Laguna Niguel- due to the carved-to-order meats and cheeses. Â Had the Italian sandwich "Mike's way", and it tasted very light and fresh. Â Friendly staff and I would definitely come here again. Â
Had to take away one star because of it's random and out of way location, high prices, and NO AVOCADO!!! Â They say they are "east-coast" style, so they don't offer avocado on the sandwiches, which I guess I can live with, but since no sandwich is complete without slices of avocado in my opinion, I have to leave them at 4 stars.
I love Jersey Mike's!! Â Ate here for the first time about two months ago, and have been coming back here ever since. They have THE BEST sandwiches, I will never eat at Subway or Quiznos again! As others have already mentioned, meats are freshly sliced in front of you when ordered. Unlike Subway, where their meats are already sliced (who knows how old it is?) and stored in containers. Â I love the #13, the Original Italian. You don't have to order the sandwiches "Mike's Way" but I would definitely recommend their vinegar, oil, and spices. Â Soooo good!!
Dining area is very clean. Â Employees are very friendly, seems like they really enjoy their jobs. Â Prices are a bit high, but the bread is good and they put a good amount of meat and veggies in their sandwiches. Â You won't be disappointed in quality and taste! Â I'm not sure if they offer this at all locations, but at the bottom of the receipt, there is a coupon for $1 off a regular sub and $2 off a giant sub, valid within 5 days after purchase. They also gave me a frequent buyer's club card: free giant sub with 12 giant sub stamps, or a free regular sub with either 6 giant or 12 regular sub stamps.
Weird, I thought this place was in Aliso Viejo.
I'm glad I skipped the temptation to go to Carl's Jr to give Jersey Mike's a try. When I walked in, I was initially put off by the prices ($7.50 for most varieties of regular-sized subs). But hey, I'm willing to try many things once, so I ordered a regular "Super Sub." (Ham, Prosciuttini, Provolone, something else). What happened next was really cool.
The sandwich preparer took a huge slab of meat, like those packages of Boar's Head meats you might see in the refrigerator of a deli, and sliced off a few generous pieces. He did the same with cheese, and then with two other types of meats. I thought this was pretty cool, and after getting my sandwich condimented and (grudgingly) combo'ed for an extra $2, the result was really quite tasty.
I don't think I've had a better sub sandwich. Is it worth shelling out nearly $10 for lunch every day, though? I'm not sure yet, but I'll come back again for a late, long lunch sometime.
The interior is pleasant and clean, and the franchisee is a family business that has family members working there, which is pretty cool to support.
I first had a Jersey Mike's sub years ago in the east coast while on vacation. Â For obvious reasons, the fresh quality and tasty sandwich left a lasting impression in my mind. Â
With that said, when I found out a brand new Jersey Mike's had just opened up in Laguna Woods right next to my brothers house, I had to make a stop. Â The location was very modern and impeccably clean. Â It even had flat screens mounted on the wall. Â
The shop had a diverse menu with maybe about 20+ different options, which made it difficult for me to choose just one. Â I asked the sandwich maker to recommend something popular. Â He asked me a few questions of what kind of flavors I preferred and went to work. Â
The awesome thing about this shop is that they actually cut the meat fresh right in front of you with a giant meat cutter. Â I over heard the worker talking to a customer before me about it and he seemed very knowledgeable explaining that it minimizes oxidation on the meat and preserves the flavor and freshness as opposed to other shops like subway or quiznos who use prepackaged and aged meat for their subs.
When the sandwich maker was done making my sandwich I had a brief chat with him about the shop and sandwiches. Â I told him about my great experience on the east coast with jersey mikes and that I was happy one opened locally. He introduced himself as Roman and was one of the managers and gave me a business card and personally invited me to come back again. Â They whole staff there was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and personable. Â
However, no matter how excellent an establishment appearance and staff is for a restaurant, the most important thing is the food taste and quality. Â After all, you are there to eat.
When I opened up my supreme club sandwich, I just starred at a giant loaf with juicy meat and vegetables seeping through the sides. Â After I had a few bites, I understood why Jersey Mike's left a lasting impression in my mind from many years back. Â It was absolutely one of the freshest and best quality sandwiches I've had in years. Â I had to force the last few bites down because I was so stuffed.
Overall, I would definitely say my brief experience with Jersey Mike's was excellent. Â The brand new establishment was very clean and professional, the staff was enthusiastic and knowledagble, and the sandwich taste and quality surpasses any sub shop in town. Â If you've never tried Jersey Mike's before, make a trek over to Laguna Woods, and I'll guarantee you will be in love and never enter another Subway or Togo's again.
5 star rating across the board!!
