Have been to John Dough's several times now and will be heading back -- Pizza has always been very good as are the salad bowls. Love the family style servings! The only issue I have is that each time we've ordered the same salad, it's been different. Sometimes it'll have just iceberg lettuce and the other times it will be mixed greens. Note to JD's- stick to the mixed green lettuce...so much better!

Last time I was here, the service wasn't very good, which was disappointing since the place was pretty empty. Our waitress disappeared after the food was delivered, didn't clear salad & plates (which would have been fine if they weren't crowding the table), and didn't stop back until it was time to bring the check. It wouldn't keep us from going back, though...

John Dough's is a solid addition to the SoNo area. For one, it's completely unpretentious unlike a lot of the other places. And two - it's totally affordable (and has some great beer selections).

The pizza is comparable to New Haven style. It's not nearly in the same league as Modern or Pepe's, but for the Norwalk area, it's solid competition for some of the best slices around. If you live here, you should definitely check it out at least once, and try it for yourself!

Pizza was good, went for St. Patty's Day once we needed a break from O'Neills. More family-friendly and service was kind of slow but they were really busy.

    Good pizza, slightly pricey.

Went on a Friday night, place was empty which was nice for us because we had no wait!  Craving a bacon & broccoli pie, which was cooked to perfection - bacon well done and thin crust nice and crispy.  A small pie with two toppings, was $13 (small cheese $10).  It's a decently large small pie, but I still think that's a little pricey.

Paid with a SweetJacks deal. Waitress was pretty flighty. On the other hand, the owner's son was exceptional!  He checked in multiple times to make sure our meal was good and apologized when the waitress couldn't get the check right (if you're going to have an online deal, make sure your staff is informed).

Be sure to sit by the fire, really cozy and warm!

It's the dough. The dough and the cheese. Of course, all the other toppings make a pizza, too, but you have to start with great dough and great, flavorful cheese. John Dough's does exactly this - to perfection.

I grew up outside of New Haven eating pizzas from Grand, Modern, and yes - Pepe's. John Dough's makes REAL New Haven-style pizza (he worked at Pepe's for eight years). This isn't the cracker-thin, dry stuff some places try to pass off as "New Haven style," but the real thing: thin-crusted pizza, covered in tasty mozzarella and whatever other toppings you desire. Other pizza places in Fairfield County can't even come close - I've been trying to find something decent for over 10 years!

I've been to John Dough's twice, and both times they knocked my socks off. I plan to make it a weekly experience! I highly recommend it!

Returned a week later to confirm first impression.

    4 adults
    4 kids

3 large pies (cheese, pepperoni, chicken/pesto/artichoke/sundried tom)
    Went home with 2 slices.
    Enough said.
    Go - it's good.
The crust is thin-but-not-too-thin-so-it-becomes-cardboardy (ala Fat Cat), crispy, slightly charred brick oven deliciousness.
Is three times the charm?  Will let you know!

Best pizza I've had since I moved to Fairfield County. Nice dark crust, top quality toppings. I'm going back for more! And the cannollis ain't bad neither.

we had the pepperoni and the bbq chick. both were great. not better than NewHaven in my opinion. but a solid pie nonetheless!

Maybe it was just OK because we had it as takeout.  Or maybe it was just OK because i'm not really a fan of New Haven style pizza.

Regardless of the reason, just OK.

May give it another try, but not rushing back.

Excellent pies.  The white clam is worthy of being called "New Haven style."  The staff is friendly and there's a good selection of draft beers.  A nice neighborhood atmosphere rounds out the scene in this welcome addition to Main Street SONO.

Yeek. I appear to be the first person to give a slightly negative review. So, one might tag me to be a "hater". I promise I'm not.

We went shortly after it opened, on a week night. We sat at the bar and ordered two small pizzas (a white pie and a red pie, each with 2 toppings), as well as 2 beers. No more, no less. $40 for 2 small pizzas and 2 beers seems pretty outlandish to me, even in Fairfield County. And our toppings weren't even top-tier. I'm talking sausage, mushrooms, spinach, things like that. So that made me raise an eyebrow.

And I honestly wasn't a fan of the pizza. I like New Haven-style, a lot. Give me a thin, charred crust any day. But I did not enjoy the flavor of my pizza, which I attribute to the spinach. It appeared to be of the frozen-bagged variety, which was disappointing. My fiancee's was better, but still, not worth the money. Maybe this was an off-night, but we probably won't be back, unless there is a snowstorm & we're out of food.

This place needs to market themselves better so they draw a bigger crowd!  The pizza is amazing and I never considered myself a huge New Haven pizza fan but this is my new favorite pizza shop/bar.  Try to BBQ Chicken.

The only reason I'm not giving this a full complement of stars is to attempt to prevent Yelp from filtering legitimate and overwhelmingly positive reviews the way they did with the sister restaurant, Behind the Net, in Darien.

Bottom line: John Dough's is fantastic.  Try the clam, buffalo chicken, meat lovers, or even just the plain cheese.  The interior is newly refinished and the staff are wonderful.
