The Goose American Bistro and Bar

The food at The Goose was o.k.  Thought it was slightly overpriced...but we were in Darien.  Service could have been a little better.

Stopped here on our way up to Boston for the weekend.  Randomly pulled off the exit, pulled up Yelp, and picked a place out of the list that sounded decent!  

We definitely enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere.  I got excited when I saw my fave CT beer on the menu, I hadn't had it since my college days up in CT.  We ordered and the food came fairly quickly.  Everything was made correctly and tasted great.  Burgers were great and the cobb salad looked good, although my friend said she wished it was a little bigger.  

And then our other friend came to join us and that's kinda when the wheels started falling off.  We couldn't get our waitresses attention at ALL.  When we did get her attention it still took her a few more minutes for her to stop by.   The bill took a bit longer after also so all that extra waiting sadly had to drop this place down a star.  

If I'm ever in the Darien area again I'd def stop back though.

The Goose is a great casual family spot. I went here  for a quick dinner before i saw a movie last Saturday. My boyfriend and I had the lobster sliders which were amazing (came with three sliders). We also got the fried calamari which was not to my tasting, it came with two very spicy sauces that i didn't care for. The best item on the menu that we got was the clams casino flat bread... It was delicious! It had huge pieces of clams on top of it and thick cut pieces of bacon. The service was great and i would certainly go back again to try more on the menu!
