Good service and right in the heart of Chinatown. Food is pretty good though, never had anything bad here. This last time we ordered the Malaysian chicken with green beans (really good flavor and portion but a bit too oily) and the chicken wonton soup (wontons were big, great texture, and meat inside was flavorful. Broth was light and fresh. Chicken was a bit dry though). Spring rolls were cold, not just room temperature, but really cold. The building itself was really cold. The waiters all had their jackets on... perhaps turning on the heater would make everyone a little more comfortable. Soooo many boba flavors for those interested in sweet drinks.

Honestly the food is yummy, but the service is so bad that it ruins the meal in another way.  The staff is always rude, doesn't matter if you dine in or you carryout your meal.  If you are vegetarian, I advise coming with someone who has ordered before.  I only say that because I came with my boyfriend once and neither of us had any idea how to order.  The menu is pretty extensive which is intimidating and when I told the waitress that we were vegetarian, she looked a little shocked and confused.  We actually got up and left, that's how lost we were. I came back with my cousin a few weeks after and now I have a feel of what I can and can't eat with my food restrictions.  Another thing that was a downside to the visit was being placed right where the draft was coming in when the doors opened.  It was freezing outside, why would you seat people in an area like that when there are open seats elsewhere.  I might come back again, but I think if I ever want to eat food from here I'll just do carryout.  On the plus side, the fruit smoothies are addictive; strawberry kiwi please!

Although it was a cold day, my friend and I decided we needed to get boba while we were still in Chinatown, since we dont get to come here often. After getting dimsum we went to Joy Yee's to get some boba.

I got the Strawberry Freeze with mango bits, mini boba and popping passionfruit boba.

Let me just say that the mini boba is not mini tapioca that i was expecting/hoping for. It was this weird jelly like balls with seeds in the middle which made them look like frog eggs. minus 1 star. Not the most appetizing but I was not a fan of the texture. there was too much of it too so it was a disappointing drink in general. But I did like the strawberry slush with mango and the popping boba.

The lady taking our order, was too distracted, and put in the wrong order for my friend. Minus 1 star for them there too. Despite these mishaps, I would still go to joy yee's again to try a different drink, definitely will be more thorough with my order and without the mini boba this time.
