I'm torn between rating this one a 4 star review weighing heavily on the very friendly service I received and a 3 star rating based on the food flavors. Â Ultimately as you can see I went with weighing more heavily on the food flavors since food is the main reason to try a restaurant.
First off though I want to give kudos to the very friendly manager who served me at lunch today. Â She never once seemed peturbed that I didn't have a clue what I wanted and was very friendly when answering my questions.Yeah, we should be able to expect that kind of treatment everyplace, but as we all know sadly customer service is lacking terribly in a a lot of businesses. Â Thankfully this young lady provided good old fashioned friendly customer service.
As far as the food flavors go it was a bit of a roller coaster ride. Â I did find the roast chicken to be fairly greasey and would have appreciated more seasoning on it. Â I realize that a lot of customers may be on low or no sodium diets, but realistically if they're eating fast food they probably aren't overly cautious of what they eat. Â Just a little salt would have been a huge improvement. Â Yes, there may have been some on the tables, but I had my meal to go so maybe on to go orders they could automatically throw in a packet of salt on every order since it is pretty cheap. Â
Since I started out with a negative comment on the food I'll continue on that line and then end with what I felt where the high points of my meal. Â For sides I had mashed potatoes and gravy and also the macaroni and cheese. Â I found both of these to be almost bland. Â Again on the potatoes some salt really would have given them a big boost in flavor (and I'm not the type to add salt to food most times). Â As for the mac and cheese it really needs to have a cheesier flavor to it.
Now the positive to finish the food review. Â I really enjoyed the chicken strip and the chicken bites. Â They were both very tasty and not the least bit greasey which I appreciated. Â I also had their honey mustard dipping sauce for the chicken strip and bites and it was great. Â One very pleasant surprise was that I normally can't stand fast food biscuits, but I found myself eating the entire biscuit so my hats off to KFC on that accomplishment.
Overall it was a good meal and now I know what I like there and what I'm better off avoiding so my next visit will be even more satisfying. Â Stop in and give it a try and it's entirely possible that you may find their flavors to be better than my take on them. Â Thanks for the friendly service!
