I have been driving by this place for about a year on my way over to DePaul and have always been curious about what they offer (Puerto Rican, Cuban, Mexican and American are the 4 flags). Â We finally made time to stop in here on Saturday and were not disappointed.
I had the steak dinner which was seasoned flank steak (literally like a quarter of the cow was on my plate!) tostones and rice with pigeon peas. Â The husband got the ground beef taco dinner with rice and beans. Â All this food could have fed 4 people - so it was a good thing we were hungry! Â We also had chips with salsa verde while we waited. Â And the bill was like $17 - so reasonable.
One star off for the lengthy wait - fresh to order, but still, 35 minutes when there are only two other tables of 2-3 people in the place is a lot. Â (Especially when the beans and rice have to be done already and making meat on a grill takes like 5 minutes).
I will definitely be back to try some of the sandwiches and to have more of the yummy tostones!!
