Little did I know this place is inside a gas station but who cares!!!  I found Krispy Krunchy Chicken courtesy of <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgrubhub.com&s=c077f445c0f58c01f902dcc624c9eabb729cc1501e9105e88f0c900f5943d1fc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://grubhub.com</a> and glad I did!!!

We ordered the following for the Superbowl game:
    **Chicken legs
    **Wings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    **Biscuts
    **Jambalaya
    **Rice and Beans
    **Fried mushrooms

Ok, ok, I admit it wasn't the healthiest meal but who cares it's Superbowl Sunday!!!  Their chicken was terrific (much better than Harrolds Fried Chicken); biscuts are to die for; and the Jambalaya was amazing!!!

They delivery everything quickly and they are reasonably priced!

Love, love this place....especially for the fried chicken!

Krispy Krunchy is in the gas station at Peterson and Ravenswood.  That's right, they share a space.   I was cold and hungry, so when I stopped for gas there, I figured why not just go for convenience and try it.  I got chicken and I got my guy catfish.  Brave, I know.  The food was about what you'd expect from an urban gas station restaurant.  They gave me 4 pieces in my 3 piece meal, and gave my guy 2 pieces of catfish and one chicken tender in his catfish order.  The quality of the food was not great, but you can't turn your nose up at Krispy Krunchy, ya know?  The cashier was pleasant and it was turned over pretty quickly.
It's not that I don't want to go to Krispy Krunchy again...it's that I don't want to be in the position where Krispy Krunchy is my best option.

Wow... definitely not what I expected from something in a gas station. I got it delivered so I can't speak to the ambiance there (the ambiance in my home is fantastic). It was delivered quickly and still piping hot.

The skin was crunchy with big chunks of just the batter (yeah, you know what I'm talking about), but it wasn't overwhelming. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. And the biscuit... oh for the love of Pete, the biscuit. For those of you looking for a standard buttermilk, this is not it. The honey butter sweetens it up, which compliments the chicken well in my opinion.

This is a great value from an unexpected location. Definitely will order from here again.

Yes it's in a gas station. The Peterson Citgo to be precise. Don't let that deter you. It's as good or better than other local chicken establishments that I have tried. Amazing array of other items for such a tiny place: burgers, hot dogs, gyros, pizza and even egg rolls. Freindly guys behind the counter. Two tables for dining in with a lovely view of your car and the cemetery across the street.

Chicken sold out of a gas station? Too high class for that, you say?  I'm telling you, leave your concerns about this concept at pump #4 and go inside, because this chicken is killing it.

As others have said, it does compare well with Harold's.  Just like the name states, it's a nice combination of crunchiness, along with loads of grease. Slop the chicken with some hot sauce and you'll be singing "Chicken Grease" by D'Angelo in no time. The honey butter biscuits have good flavor, but they fell apart easily. Hopefully they normally have more texture than the ones we got.

The dirty rice is a must, and the fries are good. They also have these unusual deep fried balls that look like hush puppies but have rice and are kind of spicy. Get those too if you have the chance.  I hear the deep fried corn on the the cob is great as well.

There are other items like pizza puffs, burgers, gyros, cheesesteaks, normal diner items to order if delicious chicken is not your thing.

    Chicken from a gas station!

My son had been at me to check this place out thats on 79th and Damen, that has fried corn (am a corn fanatic ) and great chicken. since he knows I Think am a food critic and do a little catering on the side. It was difficult to find time to go since I live North and this place was on the Southside. So I finally had to go to a relative house. my son and I stopped by this place.
soooo its in a  gas station (already skeptical). We shared  a 2 pc combo meal, fried corn on cob, red beans and rice, lemonade.
OMG chicken hot and fresh, corn crispy and juicy, red beans and rice southern cooked, lemonade fresh squeezed. Who can ask for anything more on a early Sunday afternoon after church. Customer service excellent, and price inexpensive.
After eating I made up my mind to tell Yelpers about this place...to my surprise when i searched the name......... there's a Krispy Krunchy Chicken closer to me than the South-side..hope they have the fried corn and lemonade(although the lemonade came from them sharing space with Great Steak)
I told my son there way better than Harolds( never really been a Harolds Chicken fan)
    and the biscuits are AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Dang, it may just be THIS store but, im surprised to say they contend with Harold's....I know, shocking, but with the owner on hand making sure the quality is up to standards and chicken so juicy and errrr Crispy Krunchy, its hard to find a fault is this solid chicken joint. They also serve you usual fast food grub but its simply BETTER, they have kick ass honey covered corn bread and corn dogs, yum!

    Eat and be surprised

Very good fried chicken for West Ridge! A nice change of taste from the Big 3 and awesome when fresh out of the fat. My 5 year old asked for it by name! Very fair pricing too for chicken only orders.
