I wish I could give La Luce zero stars! This place was absolutely horrible and disgusting.
Service- After waiting 3 mins at the door the "hostess" asked if we had reservations which we did just shrugs shoulders and says pick a table, entire staff was terribly rude, rushed our dinner and to top it off I saw the waiter wipe a plate with the dirty towel on his hip and place it back on another table. Gross!!!
Food- Bland and Overpriced! I've made better pasta at home.
I would never return even with another groupon so disappointing because it has so much potential I wanted to love it!
Ok, first off, -we went there because of a Groupon.
Food:
I had the "homemade" Ravolli with spinach and ricotta with a sage brown butter.-It was perfectly cooked and Very Good with a crust of parmesan on top.
{Side note: One of my MAJOR pet peeves is an Italian  restaurant that doesn't offer more than one "homemade" pasta. That why I go out for Italian - the "homemade Pasta"! One of my other pet peeves is to "say homemade" in a restaurant .}
My partner had the FIlet with red grape sauce, 3.5 out of 5 stars he says. at $33.95 it should be 5 stars in my opinion.
Ambiance:
I can only comment on the front room, which is where they sat us, it was a weekday, and was not too full when we got there. NOW HERES WHAT I HATED.- The Blackhawks Hockey game blaring! Really was i sitting in a sports bar? nobody told me. When you are Paying for expensive Italian food, Groupon or not, Â I thought it was a restaurant. Not that I have anything against the Blackhawks or Hockey, (thats another topic for another review) but really - turn the sound off. Â I will admit we didn't ask to be moved or anything. Being my first time there I don't know if there is another room or not. Â That being said, I am afraid I am not a fan and doubt if I will return. So many better Italian places in Chicago.
Service : Was great!
