La Poblanita Taqueria

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place for you.  La Poblanita is a simple restaurant with good homestyle Mexican cooking.  There is a large parking lot behind the restaurant and a rear entrance that is helpful since there is no parking in front of the restaurant on busy State Street.  Prices are very affordable and they offered good portion sizes.  The two of us ate for $13 plus tip.  We had a variety of tacos including pastor (marinated pork), chorizo (Mexican sausage), barbacoa (goat) and steak.  All the taco choices were tasty but the pastor was especially good.   They also offered a number of vegetarian entrees.  As soon as we sat down they brought chips with two salsa choices (one green and one red) and third chip dip that included pickled vegetables that I would definitely recommend trying.  La Poblanita is a good alternative to national chain restaurants.
