Cheap Korean/Chinese fare with large portions. The food is not great and the ingredients are not fresh... I've had more than one stomach ache from having the bibimbap here. The Chinese food seems like less of a threat to my (immediate) health so I prefer that, but be forewarned that it is VERY greasy... even for Chinese take-out.
This is my place to go when I have a random craving for jjajangmyun or jjamppong while I'm at work. They're not the greatest but they do well enough to stave off thoughts of going to VIP Restaurant or Chef Ping for the rest of the day.
I ate at Korean Express. I ate the lunch special without the Jae Chae 'cuz they ran out of that so I had extra meat. I knew that Koreans eat a lot of vegetables, but I didn't expect there to be so much vegetables in one bowl. When I asked for pork, at first I didn't know it was barbecued. Also, when I asked for hot sauce, I didn't expect it to be so hot. I thought it would be Louisiana hot sauce hot, not burn your mouth for a half hour hot!
It turn out to be a big mess that neither me or my mom could finish. We didn't even eat half before it was thrown out.
The place was kind of clean though. The guy was actually cleaning up as we were eating.
I gave it an extra star because the beef dumplings were really good. Probably, should have ordered a bunch of those instead.
Plus, we were the only ones there at 4:00 pm when we arrive. Could the reviews be that bad or it is it really the food?
$6 bucks will get you a nice stack of marinated chicken, rice, greens, and some other vegatables. Â They are quick and the food is pretty decent for the price you get. Â Fair warning...I enoy hole in the wall Asian places. For a quick lunch this is a great place. I really enjoyed the dish and think it's a much better option than Subway. Â I will be coming back to his place within the next week.
