Little Italy Pizzeria of Linden Llc

I've ordered take-out or strolled in for a slice here probably about 100 times over the past 5 years. I live nearby, but I'd still seek it out if I lived farther away. Up until about 2008 it was named something else, maybe Primo Pizza. It was good back then, too. I prefer it to all the other pizza places I've ordered from in  Linden. Little Italy is my second runner-up for best pizza place in the area after Santillo's in Elizabeth.

The sauce is nicely spiced and the crust is thin but not too thin. I usually request they cook my pie a few minutes extra so the crust is extra crispy. The staff has always been cheerful and accommodating when I've had similar special requests.

A menu gem is their cheesesteak stromboli, loaded with thinly sliced meat and melted cheese. It's even better if you add  peppers, onions or mushrooms. The garlic knots are tasty and large. The fries that come with the paninis and wraps are the delicious crunchy battered fries common at pizza places and diners around Jersey. The tuna sub is good but sloppy. The sub rolls are a bit large and doughy for my liking because you have to squish down the subs to wrap your mouth around the bread. There is always a large selection of slices in the case, such as chicken Caesar salad pizza, Sicilian, Mexican Sicilian with ground beef and sour cream and tomatoes and shredded lettuce, cheesesteak pizza,  pasta-topped pizza, Buffalo chicken pizza and of course plain cheese. I've never had any of the following, but they also offer rice balls, Jamaica patties and deep-fried Oreos.

The place is usually hopping with to-go orders but I rarely see more than one or two tables of diners in the nicely redecorated dining room. It seems like a nice place to get a quiet meal, but due to the bustling nature of the kitchen and ordering counter it might be a challenge to have an intimate/romantic meal there. It does seem like a good place to take a baby or young child, though, as you'll probably have the place largely to yourself and not get any glares from other diners should your children be on the rambunctious side. I think there may be a television in the dining area, too, but I'm not positive. In the warmer months I often see people enjoying slices at the picnic tables between the parking lot and restaurant entrance. The other day I saw a sign out front advertising a lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for $4.

The restaurant is adjacent to a drug store that is closed on Sundays. Half of the business complex is empty since the barber shop and dress shop recently shuttered. Parking is available in the lot and there is also plenty of convenient, free parking on side streets.
