It may be an unfair perception based on my Manhattan Subway experiences but often I find Subways to be rather bland places with a stale decor and even staler looking meats. Â However, this newly opened Subways in my area is definitely not that! Â With a nice, modern, wood-based decor and wide open spaces, this restaurant is inviting and not at all off putting. Â When you enter there's a huge seating section and a beverage station to one side. Â In front of you is the counter where you order and pay.
On this particular day I ordered their new chicken sandwich with spinach. Â The gentleman putting together my sandwich was super cool as I kind of nit picked and had him dress the two halves of the foot long sandwich with different toppings. Â I thought he'd roll his eyes or something but instead he was totally fine with it and assembled the sandwich without missing a beat (and zero attitude!). Â
The sandwich was super tasty. Â One half had their guacamole and veggies while the other half had chipotle dressing on it. Â Truth be told it was hard to decide which half I liked more. Â The vegetables were all pleasantly fresh and crunchy while the bread was soft and tasty.
I dig this place and now have a cool place in the 'hood to grab a quick sandwich, hurray!
This family-run subway restaurant is my favorite in the area. The service is quick, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and you can't beat a $5 footlong.
What added that one extra star to get them from 4 to 5, was that they take the time to fold over each slice of meat on the sandwich instead of simply slapping it on and leaving it to hang out the side as is customary at many other of the chain's franchises. For some reason sandwiches just taste better with the meat folded in half.
