I went here for Valentine's 2011...It was great. It is a alot like Rio Rodizo in Union, but the feel is more upscale. The valet parking seemed a little out of place for its location, but when you get inside, you get the sense of what they were going for. My date and I chose the Rodizio. The meats were well flavored and not too salty. My main complaint at Rio Rodizio is always how salty the meats are. (I think they do this to make you thirsty so that you will fill up on water.) At Solar, the service was attentive and the meats looks so good that you will find it hard to tell them to stop. Unlike Rio, Solar did not have an open buffet on the day I went. However, the quality of the grilled meats more than made up for this. I would definitely go here again and try my best to leave room for dessert.
Review Source:As other reviewers had mentioned, the decor is far better than the food and service. Â I came here for two special occasions- Â Solar do Minho came highly recommended by a foodie friend of mine who attended a wedding there.
The first time I came with 3 friends as my friend's mini bachelorette party where we had some sangria in the bar area. Â The red wine sangria was delicious and the right level of strong. Â The bartender also gave us 4 free glasses of a fruity white wine sangria, as he noticed we were celebrating.
The second time I came here was for Mother's Day. Â I don't know if it was a fixed menu, but the options seemed incredibly limited and over priced for the quality of the meal. Â I'm not big on seafood, so I had a steak which was very tough. Â Everyone else was bummed on the quality to price ratio of the food. Â I might come again on a non-holiday when it's not so hectic.
