Went here for a wedding and it was the best wedding food I've ever had. A coworker of mine went a week ago for a wedding and reminded me of how good the food was. Will be returning soon!

I went here for Valentine's 2011...It was great. It is a alot like Rio Rodizo in Union, but the feel is more upscale. The valet parking seemed a little out of place for its location, but when you get inside, you get the sense of what they were going for. My date and I chose the Rodizio. The meats were well flavored and not too salty. My main complaint at Rio Rodizio is always how salty the meats are. (I think they do this to make you thirsty so that you will fill up on water.) At Solar, the service was attentive and the meats looks so good that you will find it hard to tell them to stop. Unlike Rio, Solar did not have an open buffet on the day I went. However, the quality of the grilled meats more than made up for this. I would definitely go here again and try my best to leave room for dessert.

As other reviewers had mentioned, the decor is far better than the food and service.  I came here for two special occasions-  Solar do Minho came highly recommended by a foodie friend of mine who attended a wedding there.

The first time I came with 3 friends as my friend's mini bachelorette party where we had some sangria in the bar area.  The red wine sangria was delicious and the right level of strong.  The bartender also gave us 4 free glasses of a fruity white wine sangria, as he noticed we were celebrating.

The second time I came here was for Mother's Day.  I don't know if it was a fixed menu, but the options seemed incredibly limited and over priced for the quality of the meal.  I'm not big on seafood, so I had a steak which was very tough.  Everyone else was bummed on the quality to price ratio of the food.  I might come again on a non-holiday when it's not so hectic.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, wish they spent more attention on their food than the decor...rodizio was dry and slow to come out...Garlic Shrimp was overcooked...get rid of the valet parking and spend time on watching what comes out of your kitchen...some improvements would make this one of the best Portuguese restaurants in NJ, hands down.

I have been to both locations (Roselle Park and Belleville), and I must say that I prefer this one.  The place is very nice looking, both inside and out.  When you pull up, they do have valet parking but that is mostly because they have to park cars across the street since they don't have a big enough lot.  When you walk in and go up the stairs, they have a very nice bar and an outdoor patio that connects to the bar.  I have not eaten outside, but I am sure it is nice.  The bar was very nice - classy but not too stuffy.

We went to this location for a friend's B-day and we all had the rodizio.  The food here is phenomenal and there is a ton of it (obviously).  When you order the rodizio, they do not stop coming by with different meats.  A couple of my favorite meats are the filet and the sausage.  They also have a great garlic shrimp appetizer that I would highly recommend.  The food is so good and there is so much of it.  You really can't have a rodizio meal too many times, but when you do, it is phenomenal.

They end your meal with the hot pineapple with cinnamon.  I think it is a very nice touch and almost cleanses your palate.  Plus, there is no way you can eat any kind of heavy dessert at that point.

This place is very nice, has great food and has a great bar.  How can you beat that?

This is my favorite restaurant right now.
    Why go here?

    -Quality fresh food
-Amazing portions that make it worth the price

    Do Get:
-Every single entree is amazing. I'm not lying
-Paella is hard to get right - they got it!
-Shrimp appetizer covered in cheese---I would never mix seafood and cheese but I ordered it once and now I order it every single time
-I'm not into dessert but I cant say "no" here b/c they come out with the whole tray for you to choose. Impossible to say no with a cup of espresso to match

The only thing NOT to get is the Sangria. If their Sangria was stronger (it tastes like fruit punch), I'd be there more often

There is casual seating by the bar, outdoor seating in the summer, and a more formal dining room. So it can fit whatever group you want to go with.

Seriously. If you want an amazing, filling, delicious, quality meal, go here!

I think Portuguese food is decent but this place was not at all what I would look for in a restaurant.  It is highly impersonal because of the decor (lots of stone and brick) and the place is simply too big.

I guess the price is ok for what you get but I'd rather the portions be half the size (I rarely ever say that ) and the prices be half of what they are.  I got some kind of fish filet with broccoli and it just wasn't that great (partially because I was picking tiny bones out of my mouth the entire time). I didn't even think the sangria was good.

The decor tries to assert itself as some kind of grand dining experience but the important part, the food, just doesn't say anything but mediocrity. Not going to be going back.

I absolutely love this place! It can get pricey but the food and service rocks! Their sangria probably beats out Iberia's plus they give you so much more and not too much ice! The meats are fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad bar is small but good choices. Potato salad is very good. Highly recommend this place whether it be for a date/family function or a large group of friends. Enjoy!

If you're looking for a Happy Hour, relaxing dinner, or even a beautiful place to hold a wedding or corporate event.  Solar Do Minho really knows how to take care of you!  I just held a Happy Hour for the New Jersey Real Estate Social Network on July 23rd and I was really impressed.  The staff was awesome, the place is absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent, the specials are spectacular and overall I can't imagine any place being better.  I highly highly recommend Solar Do Minho in Roselle Park!
