The martini list is just that, no descriptions, and when we asked our server for additional info, she could not provide any helpful information. Â Had the pomegranite martini, nothing special. Â Limited vegetarian choices, ordered the vegetarian pasta dish, very disappointing! Little to no flavor. Â My boyfriend ordered the ribs, which we later found out they don'tserve anymore but still on the menu and our server did not know of this change. Â The manager offered a steak at the same price to help rectify the problem. He had a filet that he states was very good, and was also comped a lobster tail that he loved.
My experience was a 1star, but since the manager really did try to make us happy & myboyfriend loved his food (not the overall experience), I'll give them 2.
Went there on a sat at 6:30 only 2 other tables. Waited for 20 min for a server. Out of lobster bisque ( which is a staple on their menu ) asked for the fresh catch of the day and it was salmon - the same as the only other fish they have on the menu !! but instead of just butter it came with a caper butter sauce., which we didnt get when it was served ! 2 other in our party ordered the lamb chops 2-4 oz for 35.00. we waited over an hour for our food. The salmon had no sauce - everything on the plate was cold and I mean like out of a fridge ! The lamb chops - there was only a bite of meat on each - really for 35.00 !! The table next to us ordered their famous spaghetti and meatballs and they were out of meatballs ??? Â Someone please call Gordon Ramsey or Robert Irvine because this place needs help !!!!!!!!!
Review Source:Disappointment from the start! First, when we get there at 7, the front door was locked. I should have taken that as a sign to just turn around and leave, but we stayed. Went to the bar to wait for a table. Martinis were sub-par, hubby asked for two regular olives and got blue cheese stuffed. Got a table and you could tell that the waiter was very new or  uncomfortable because he was stumbling through the meat presentation. Just about everything we wanted, they were out of: oysters, fillet, champagne. They specials weren't even mentioned to us. We knew we needed to go, I don't think we could handle anymore let downs.
Review Source:came here for a Saturday Night out with the girls, we got there about 9, got a parking spot right in front.....kinda worried me not going to lie. There was a $5 cover....blah I hate paying a cover but what are you going to do. It was pretty empty in the lounge, maybe about 10 people in the lounge. As the night went on it got a lot more crowded with VERY interesting people we will say. They had a nice selection of martinis so we all got a different one to try them. We got  the gummy bear, cosmo, mango, and pomegranate. For being a martini bar, these were not good at all!!!! the pomegranate one tasted watery, the mango, cosmo and gummy bear were way to strong that you couldnt even enjoy them. I switched to beer after that. Their prices for drinks were not crazy, martinis were $7.50 and beers were 3.50....but i'd just stick to beer!
The average age here was about 40-50.....so at least ten years on me.....so of course there were the creepy old guys that were trying to hit on us and take random pictures of us while we weren't looking....a few choice words to them and they finally got the hint to leave us alone.
The bathrooms smelled really bad and were a mess....It felt like they hadnt been cleaned in days, very gross!!!
MEH.  food was ok, nothing special and  kinda pricey for what you get. WIne list is laughable. Martinis are ok, but way overpriced. Service is hit or miss. Mostly miss. Seems like a sort of lame frat boy pick up joint. if thats your thing, have fun. If you are looking for a nice lounge with good food, drinks and music, continue the search.
Review Source:This review is for the bar.
Went for the main bar on a Friday night. Â They had a dj and were packed. Â The martinis were delicious but pricey. Â Service was good and polite. Â Had to ask twice for water. Â Good place if you want to dance. Â Not a lot of age variety here - mostly 30's-40's. Â
This time the lot was valet only - not sure what the idea behind this is? Â This is not a convenience - rather than a hassle, because the lot is close the the front door, not full, and there is plenty of street parking.
I don't know if it's because the lounge doesn't get going until much later on Friday nights, but we were there around 9:30pm and it was totally dead! 6 others were there sitting at the bar, and this was on a Friday night. Â There was a dj and everything but it was totally dead. Â The bartender went outside to hang out with the valet and we couldn't find him to close our bill. Â My husband had to go outside and find him. Â Pretty unprofessional.
Review Source:Wow... really guys?
Ok.. I am NOT reviewing the food side as I did not have any.
So that being said... a 5.00 cover for a CHEESY disco cover band that was bad. Then 8.00 bucks for glass of terrible wine and a 6.50 charge for a well drink. GUYS... this is McHenry county and the economy is crap... you will never survive.
On top of that if you want to park in the lot you HAVE to get the valet parking. REALLY!
I want to like the place but it will go the way of the last few places that  were at this locale. Much better spots with better entertainment and cheaper booze.
I like it !
Porters (the original, not the reinvented sports bar) was always a fave in the area to go have some fun, with a little class. Â A nice mix of good drinks, seafood and appetizers and music.
The new bar/restaurant was started up by one of the managers from the Living Room in Schaumburg. Â They re-did a lot of the upholstery and decor. Â Small private couch rooms on the side of the bar, an open dance floor where the main dining was, and main dining is left pretty much intact.
Music needs to be modified some. Â A little too Bing Crosby/Christmasy for Summer. Â Still needs some tweaking, but I am excited for their potential.
Stop in for a drink at the bar, and check it out for yourself !
