Excellent steak (porterhouse for two) and friendly service earn the restaurant five stars. Â The entrees are inexpensive for the quality you receive, and the table side steak sauce preparation is a treat. Â It's amazing that this is a chain restaurant. Â The only mild annoyance is the crowd and the resulting loud chatter noise all evening long.
Review Source:When I go to Longhorn I am usually here with friends for a recurring lunch thing. Nice place for that kind get together with a group of 6 or less. Service in Newburgh has always been good and I haven't experienced any complaints with any of the meals I have had here.
Given that our group keeps coming back here almost every week I think that says it's better than most of the other casual offerings in the Newburgh area. Easy to get to, and decent parking round out a solid experience.
For a chain restaurant, I thought the food was pretty decent. Â I had the medallion sandwich and it was pretty good. Â The service was as good, Â but then again it really depends on your server. Â Some are obviously better than others, based on what I read from other reviews. Â I went there for lunch for 4 adults and 2 children and paid 50 bucks.. I thought that it was very inexpensive considering it is a steakhouse. Â Overall, the experience was par for the course. Â Lomghorn was actually better than I expected, but my expectations were not very high since I knew it was a chain. Â If you are expecting 5 stars you will be disappointed. Â It is a chain and no chain is really going to be 5 stars. Â If your expectations are that of Outback, Charlie Browns or Bugaboo Creek, then it should meet your expectations. Â Like I said.. Par for the course.
Review Source:Had dinner with two friends. Â Two of us ordered the same thing and the third person ordered a different item. Â They accidentally sent out three of the same items. Â The wait person said she would send out the third order asap. Â While waiting the manager came over and told us that the third item would be on the house since it was not sent out with everything else. Â It was a very generous gesture that you don't usually see in a chain restaurant. Â In the meantime, my meal was very good and my companions enjoyed theirs as well. Â Would highly recommend.
Review Source:I've eaten here several times and the food is always great. I had a problem with the food the last time I was there and the staff corrected the problem to my satisfaction.
I always have the Parmesan crusted chicken which is excellent. The last couple of times I've had the rice pilaf which was also excellent. Â
IF you love chocolate you HAVE TO HAVE the chocolate lava cake. Take it home and get a glass of milk.. The portion is made for 2 people it takes me 3 days to eat it.
It's chocolate cake, chocolate mouse, & chocolate frosting. to die for.
Took my parents here for dinner as a treat one night, and it was fabulous.
We had no wait, no reservation. Â The only problem was they couldn't seat us in the section we wanted (because we knew the waitress) so they actually put us right on the edge of another adjacent section so we could as least bump into her. Â
We each had drinks, I had the patron margarita, dad had a Sam Adams, and mom had the peach white sangria, which was absolutely great. Â
We had the crab an lobster dip which was amazing, and then Mom had the Parmigiana crusted chicken, which was great, Dad had a strip steak, and I had the crab stuffed filet. Â We were all very happy with our meals, the waitress even stayed and asked that we cut into our steaks with her watching so she knew they were cooked as ordered.
Overall it was a great evening out, so great I took hubby back the next day for lunch and he loved it too.
A Sunday evening and a 45 minute wait so we sat and ordered @ the bar. Â The bar tender was very nice an attentive, got a menu and a drink very quickly. Â Although it was crowded, the salad and warm bread came out quickly and was tasty. Â Not long after our steaks came out and were cooked close to perfect. Â I had a very tender and tasty filet and my partner had the prime with. Â Both were very good. Â The prices were fair and we left feeling very satisfied. Â Would go there again.
Review Source:LongHorn is a great steakhouse with a warm atmosphere resonant of a Western rancher's lodge. Considering it is a chain restaurant, the  appetizers and steaks were excellent. Most meals are served with salad and freshly baked bread which is just wonderful when it comes out nice and hot from the oven. The serving staff was very friendly and helpful.
Oh and be sure to try the Chocolate Stampede for dessert. You won't regret it!
There aren't many special dining options in Newburgh. Lots of chains and mediocre places. I live super close to this Longhorn Steakhouse and I've never tried the chain before so what the heck? My friend and I came in at 7:30 on a Wednesday and there was a 15 minute wait for a two top so we sat at the bar.
The bartender was very nice and they had some seasonal beer on tap and a good selection of bottles. I had a Caesar salad with chicken and my friend had the NY Strip. His steak was served perfectly and my salad was huge and I love leftovers. I got the dressing on the side so I had a yummy lunch the next day.
My favorite part of the whole meal was my friend's sweet potato. It was loaded with butter and brown sugar and cinnamon, so not too healthy, but perhaps the most DELICIOUS potato I've ever tasted! I might go back just for the potato and a beer.
Good service, solid food, no complaints!
Stopped in for a steak expecting the experience to be like a typical Outback experience and I think it was very comparable. Â I think with any franchise like these each location experience will be unique based on how it's managed.
Stopped in twice last week (mid-week) getting immediate seating one day and a good wait the following visit. Â I can't say there was a pattern with the crowd since both my visits were in the early evening during the week (not weekend).
Food I ordered was great, steak was cooked well and the cut not fatty at all. Â The waiters that served us were amazing checking up on us frequently to fill our beverage and just check on our needs. Â I will definitely be back to this location.
I've been to other Longhorn locations and this one is hands down; the best! They have been open for some time and as such; you would think that the allure has worn off and it will not be too busy. No so! During the week; it's not too hard to get a table but on the Weekends; look out for a long wait. I usually take part in the call ahead seating about 45-55 minutes before going. It helps cut down on the wait and keeps the small waiting area clear. Service can be fantastic as well as just OK; depends on the server you get. The food is always very fresh and cooked to order. Great place to eat while not spending a ton of money doing it.
Review Source:The best restaurant in Newburgh. Â heh, heh. Â That ain't sayin much, but it's true. Â I went here for lunch and enjoyed my giant burger and everyone else at the table like their food, too. Â I had the apple pie and while it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever eaten I sure was able to gobble it up in a few minutes. Â
I think one of the best things about this place is that the kid's cup is completely watertight. Â In fact, I've saved it to use at other restaurants.
One of the worst dining experiences I had in my life!!!
I went to LongHorn last night because i thought it would be a nice dinner as you could guess from yelp reviews.
The food was mediocre or less.  We ordered Shrimp Lobster Dip, BBQ fillet and Rib, and Apple Pie. Fillet was kind of  hard and the apple pie is just about quantity, not quality.  Do not order the apple pie....because it is definitely not as tasty as it looks in the picture.  Oh and we also found a piece of HAIR in our BBQ ribs.
But the BIGGEST problem was the WAITRESS we had. Â First of all, she intentionally sold more expensive meal when we didnt want it. Â For the BBQ fillet and rib, we did not want the sides so we tried to get one without the sides...since they had two different prices for "with sides" and "without sides". Â She said they come with sides no matter what, and that is not what it said on the menu...but we were forced to have the sides.
Also, we got mushrooms instead of mashed potatoes we ordered on the side. Â On top of all that, she started taking plates off our table when we were STILL EATING!!! Â Just because it was 1 hour before closing and she wanted to go home. Â And when we ordered the dessert, she put the dessert and the check right in the middle of the table instead of putting on the side so that we could actually eat our dessert. Â So I moved the check out of our way to have the dessert. Â She came over right away and opened the check right in front of us and said "Oh I thought you took care of it since you put on the side". Â Clearly she was rushing us the whole time. Â
I have never ever had such a rude waitress. Â And funny thing is that every other waitresses and waiters seemed alot nicer. Â What a horrible horrible experience by LongHorn.
Went here on a Sat. night and we were told it would be 50 - 55 minutes for a table. Â There's nothing that pisses me off more than the front door staff giving out extremely over-inflated wait times in order to scare off potential patrons. Â She seemed surprised when I agreed to wait. Â They handed me a pager and I went back out to the car... Â After about 20 min. in the car we decide to head in and get a drink at the bar in case our table comes up early. Â While we are sitting at the bar we notice that couples that came in long after us are now being seated. Â I finish my beer and go inquire about the status of our table. Â Front desk chick asks me how long we've been waiting, I tell her 50 minutes, she looks at her list and she is well beyond my name and she tells me it will be 10-15 min more WTF?? Â I stroll back over to the bar kinda pissed off, and about 2 minutes later she comes over and apologizes and says that they had tried to page us quite some time ago and that they would seat us now. Â We figure that we must have been parked out of range of the pagers and wasted 30 minutes hanging out at the bar...
After the initial dissapointment of waiting nearly an hour for a table, we had absolutely no complaints about the table service and the food. Â We had the shrimp and lobster dip for app, I had the Burbon Glaze Ribeye and DW had the Siroin and Shrimp Scampi. Â Both steaks were cooked to perfection. Â The food was better than we expected, it was a welcome change from the standard TGIF Abblebees Chili's etc. Â
We would definitely eat here again, just work out the pager coverage area first!
Outstanding food, Outstanding service! they make awesome steaks even on the kids menu! I was asked if I needed anything throughout my dinner (not in an annoying way either) the waitress made sure we always had beverages, bread and made sure to ask how each of the servings were...we had the lobster and shrimp dip with chips (excellent!) Â the steaks were cooked just as we asked and were very tasty.the drinks weren't watered down either...Thumbs Up.
