Let's get a few things straight, Chicagoans--

This mound of dough, cheese, sauce and toppings that forms a giant hillock of glop cannot be called pizza. I can't pick it up, I can't fold it. Ergo: not pizza.

However, that doesn't stop it from being delicious. My buddy in Chicago took me here for the always-traditional deep dish "pizza." It was really good--we got a combo of meats and some veggies. I managed to finished 2 slices! This, I was assured, was an excellent job by me.

So...yeah. A delicious mess? Sure. An open-faced stromboli? K. But pizza? Get real.

My boss likes to order from here, which I don't mind at all. The crust is so buttery and delicious.  I like my pizza thin and this was just perfect.

This particular location (actually, most Lou Malnati's, I think) is take-out only, so either ask for delivery or stop by to pick up your food.

I ordered a thing of bruschetta and a small Chicago Classic for a total of around $18.  Went to pick it up half an hour later and everything was ready and waiting for me. A ten minute walk back home later, I had all of my food out ready to eat, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia playing on Netflix.

The bruschetta is good, but, admittedly, not very hard to make yourself. It's just crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, some olive oil, and sliced Parmigiano that you spoon or dip onto pieces of sliced garlic bread (which weren't all too garlicy). The pizza was also a bit thinner than I remembered them from the last time I had Lou's (do people call it that?), but it still tasted just as good, so that's a huge plus.
