Rodan

This was a really difficult place to nail down.  On food alone, it's hard to give this anything other than a 3.  It's not bad by any means, but it has a pretty limited menu. However, the few items they do serve, have a pretty interesting Asian-fusion vibe to them.  I particularly enjoyed the Korean Kimchee Burger and the Togarashi Burger. The Wasabi Dusted Fries are really good as well.

Most importantly however, it's a really cool bar. They show old movies on a projector in the back, it always seems to have an amount of crowdedness optimal for the time of day and all the waitstaff/bartenders are super nice and helpful.  In the end, I want Rodan to continue to exist and I'm proud to call it a neighborhood bar.  

And quite frankly, I'm not sure how I ever considered giving a bar named for a Godzilla villain anything but a positive rating. Godzilla is a real threat that we, as a country, and society in general, need to start taking seriously.  Not the mythical monster, the threat of another remake. A threat that is real.  And terrifying.

Had another great night on Friday for Sub Tropical!  Nuphie was great, she took care of us and made sure we had what we needed.  Great place!

The menu at Rodan has a quirky, fun spirit to it. They recently swapped their tacos with steamed buns. At first, I was disappointed to see my second-favorite fish tacos go away, but I was blown away when I ordered the steamed bun replacement. Yum! Is this a sign that the over-saturated gourmet taco market is being replaced by the Asian bun? If so, I'm excited and ready for the transition. The other items on this menu are hit or miss, and so is the service. The wasabi dusted tempura fries and the Korean kim chee burger are must haves. Sit at the bar for quicker, more attentive service.
