Luc Thang Noodle

Quite surprised by all the horrible reviews so thought I'd write them a good one, which they deserve. Cheapest Thai you can find, and it's tasty. Is it the best in Chicago? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it's the worst. Sure, the store front decor is not top notch but most of the time people order for delievery anyway, so if you're eating at home, this is the place to go to. Or just be a sucker and pay more somewhere else. Apparently people have lots of money to spare in Chicago.

Really wanted to give the place 1 stars but that means I would never go back. The place is not nice by any means. Chairs are horrible the tables are old and it just seems like a place that failed a few health inspections. That being said, the lady there was very nice and friendly.
Food: appetizers were disgusting. Fried shrimp pounded flat, picture one of those pink school erasers breaded and fried. Mmmmm. It was escorted by its even uglier friend, the cucumber salad in some crappy peanut oil. Then the soups came. Simple, plain and a little bland. So at this point I'm thinking 1 star. Then the main courses pepper steak and chicken #70 (waitress recommendation). Finally something I could eat. Don't know if it was that good but we were really excited to have something not gross or boring to shovel in our mouthes and we polished off our plates. For that they get a 2nd star.
Overall I'm really upset in all of wickerpark's Chinese food. This place didn't even have Mongolian beef. Pmph.

Really great meals. Excellent & fresh food. Lunch specials are insanely cheap. I know I'm not a huge Yelper. I should say more in detail, but I can say this......I NEVER Yelp unless I really like a place & thinks it deserves recognition. I love fine dining & this place is def a little "hole in the wall" compared to places I usually go, but I honestly still love it. Its rare I repeat restaurants & this will def be one of the few places I will go to over and over again. :) Great, great food. Check it out!
