Ummmm why has no one informed us this place is no longer around. I looked it up on yelp and decided to go with some friends last Friday night. We get there and see that its been shut down by the fire marshals. Fellow Yelpers this dive no longer exists don't waste your drinking time lol
Review Source:This is truly a dive. It stinks and the bathroom is disgusting.
On a high note the music is always GREAT. If your looking for a good ladies night, Thurs are awesome. I wouldn't suggest the free drink though. I've had to call out of work some Friday's due to the apple martini.
Overall I always have a blast when I go. Just stear clear of the free drinks.....it's not worth the after effect
Pros:
*Music is great - Lots of Hip Hop, Old School Hip Hop and Rap and good dancing music.
*No cover Charge
*$4.00 coat check charge (Please take my jacket, that i would otherwise have to carry around)
*Lots of space to dance - We were 3 girls that night - Dancing from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.
*Convenient location
*Half Price drinks from time to time throughout the night - Pretty cool deal!
Cons:
*Dirty Bathrooms
* Sticky floors - Gum and drinks all over the floor. My freinds kept having to take crap off of their shoes.
*Guys are just holding up the walls and some of them are real @$$holes. They don't understand NO means NO! Which brings me to my next con....
*1 bouncer - Really??? The @$$hole from my previous con was harrassing us as we exited the place and i guess there was also another rowdy bunch there as well - The (1) bouncer wasn't able to handle both situations.
*We felt a little too dressed up LOL. There were people there with sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt sweatr
All in all, not a bad place - Just a few bad apples. I would come back, with our boyfriends to feel safer. We would all have fun here.
The bouncer here is a racist  - no doubt about it! I went there with my wife and another couple.. when we got to the door the bouncer refused entry because we walked across the grass  - fyi - there wasn't any grass b/c it's the middle of winter. At 1st we thought it was a joke but he was dead serious. While we're discussing this with the bouncer he then let's in 2 other non -white customers. I never experienced anything like this in my life. We passed by later that night on way home and saw a few ambulances outside, I guess the bouncer should be focused on other things rather than ppl who walk across a 3 foot patch of grass!
Review Source:This place has the potential to be a four star spot but for right now its worth 2.5/3. Â First off the music is great. Â The drinks are strong. Â I had an apple martini which was a little overbearing with flavor, but that plus 2 patron shots had me nice. Â The DJ (kassanova) announced half off shots for 5 minutes around 1am n then again about 10 minutes later....thought that was great! The drinks here are expensive. It was $24 for a henny/redbull and an Apple Martini. Â We got here an hour late after ladies night, which was ladies drink free (Apple martinis and cosmopolitans only) and I thought those drinks would still be a special price for ladies but guess not. Â The half off shots were $6, meaning a regular shot was $12 (too expensive especially for queens). Â This place is definitely part of the forest hills inn. Â
There is also a bad mold problem here because my eyes were going crazy all night (the strong smell of mildew was nausiating). Â Because of this I only MIGHT come back here. Â I can deal with the smell, but not the physical side effects.
NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: please clean this place up, you would get such a wonderful crowd if you did!
Came here to meet my intoxicated girl Angie I. and her co-workers on their debauchery celebration of liberation from the chains of Bank of America. She greeted me at the door and brought me in where I encountered what seems to be a retired NFL player of a bouncer. He let me know that normally I wouldn't be admitted because of my sneakers but the girls saved me. Umm really?!?! In Queens?!?! GTFOH, that's a sign of horseshitness already.
Downstairs was spacious and the DJ wasn't spinning too bad but it was BARREN. Other than my girl's crew of 5, a couple sitting in the dark corner, 2 bartenders and 2 people at the far end of the bar who looked like employees...there was NO ONE ELSE. Yes our group was a tad drunken rowdy and they were shoving ice cubes down each other but it seemed like they aren't fond of business and money because we were kicked out at 11:00. So now they were down to the couple in the corner who probably ordered 2 piña coladas and a freaking coke.
Au revoir, definitely won't be back.
Wow, this place def takes the cake for just about the worst "bar" "club" "lounge" experience I've ever had, EVAR. Â Can Yelp start allowing minus-star ratings??
Right off the bat, you know this place sucks when you see the small-ish hand-written scribbled note pasted on a wall near the entrance to descending stairs that reads something like "Cash Only, sorry." Â Then you head down those stairs to what's basically a basement-level joint and immediately encounter the distinct mustiness of an unkempt below-ground space. Â We then see a "No Dancing" sign tacked to the mirrored wall near DJ. Â What the heck??? Â
The layout, decor, lighting, sound system, aforementioned smell, etc etc are just BAD, which def sets the tone for your experience there. Â We all hit up the bar since we agreed we'd for sure have to be tipsy/drunk to even stay there and make the most of it. Â We all order top-shelf drinks, which were priced about $6-$8, not bad. Â Then we found out why. Â I'm sorry but you can't really fake the taste of any of the liquors you are familiar with and usually order at any given bar, restaurant, buy at liquor stores, order on airplanes, etc etc, so WHY DOES BARTINIS THINK THEY CAN FOOL US WITH FILLING PREMIUM BOTTLES WITH LESS-THAN-PREMIUM ALCOHOL???
I realize this happens a lot in these seedy-types of establishments and as a consumer in that type of situation, my best bet would be to make nice w/the bartender in hopes they'd make nice back and offer me another beverage of my choice. Â In fact, the condescending, arrogant bartender called me "honey" and asked me to speak to the manager since he basically accused me of trying to cop another drink on the house as I took 2 sips of my drink. Â Not phased, I sought this manager, who was already made aware by bartender of my (friendly) complaint by a series of hand-gestures and signals, and I overheard the manager, who hardly looked my way or acknowledge me as he was too busy groping some honey in a tight dress, and said he would honor my request JUST THIS ONCE and give me a new drink. Â Silly me, I ordered the same premier vodka + soda water and it tasted the same as it did the first time around....just GROSS. Â The rest of my crew wanted to complain too but after what I had to go through, we just ordered a round of bottled beers and called it a night. Â
Sure enough, I have the hangover I usually reserve for less-than-premium alcohol as I write this review. Â Thanks Bartinis for making me write probably my most horrible review of an establishment to date.
Okay, so it's not a trendy NYC club, but Bartini's tries!
The Manager and bartenders are extremely nice. Drinks are strong. Around $9 a martini. They have martini encyclopedia! Fun to flip through... until you order it and they tell you they don't have half the ingredients listed in there. But it's still fun. Then you realize the bartender has no idea how to make it and flips through their own recipe book haha. But they will work with you until you find something you want and that's all that matters.
The music is played off a CD until 11pm (more like 11:30pm) when the DJ decides to arrive. M-F are pretty dead. We showed up on a Fri night at 10pm when they opened. Wait till midnight, still just a handful of people. The decor inside is nice, the couches are rock hard or old but look nice. If you are going with a bunch of close friends, who cares if the club isn't rockin? It's like a private club. Plus, it's Queens- what do you expect? Bring a bag so you can stuff your coat in because they still force you to coat-check.
Ok the only reason i liked being at the place was because i was with people i love and know how to party, the place though on the other hand is a dump. Seriously, there was gum stuck all over the floor and the little seating area we had the bench was coming out of place all the time when u sat down on the edge it would pop up on the back nearly busting your ass and well the drinks were really good, Glass cups and generous with their liquor it wasn't watered down, but the atmosphere ..... not so great considering the way it looked so bleh and plain with little lighting here and there and a bar but pretty no! Oh and it smelled like cleaning fluids lol. Even the carpet was sticky!
Review Source:It's amazing people even come here. This place plain old sucks. The music sucks, the drinks suck, the bouncers suck, the bar sucks, the basement sucks, the lighting sucks, parking sucks, everything sucks. You can't dance in this place, its too small. And for the prices they charge, you can get the same priced drinks in Manhattan in a livelier crowd and a place above ground.
Review Source:A Man was BEATEN & STOMPED in this Bar on Friday Night. Shortly after leaving Bartini's, this Man DIED!! A Group of 10 thugs pounced on this one guy, Haroon, and stomped him severely. Supposedly, the Bouncers may have had a hand in this Beating. The Bouncers (I use this term lightly) then through the Beaten and Injured Haroon and his friend out of the Bar, and let the Thugs that Beat him Severely, stay. Maybe the Bouncers should have called 9-1-1 for haroon so he could be treated at the Scene of a supposed Crime. But NO, this would be Bad for business!! This is SOP for some of these Thug Bars on Austin Street.
Haroon and his friend left Bartini's, but en-route to his home, he didn't feel well from the beating he received (No Doubt) His friend drove him to the Hospital where he Died en-route, or at thew Hospital.
After this guy received a severe beating, the Bouncers through him out of Bartini's. No Doubt so not to have the NYPD come to file a Report. Not good for Business I guess.
The attitude most likely is better to have the guy die far away from the Bartini's, than at Bartini's.
If Bartini's and/or any of their employees, and the Thugs that beat him are responsible for Haroon's Death, they should be Fully prosecuted. A full Background check should be done regarding Bartini's, it's Owners and Employees. Is there a History of Beatings at this Bar? Do any of it's employees have a Criminal Background? Do any of the Principals of Bartini's have a Criminal Background? Is the Liquor License under the proper name of someone affiliated with the bar, or is this person a Shill?
Etc., etc.
AND WHY HAS THIS DEATH NOT BEEN IN THE NEWS MEDIA?? VERY STRANGE. I ONLY SAW A SEGMENT ON NY1, A LOCAL CHANNEL IN QUEENS.
A Death at a Forest hills Bar on Austin Street, and no mention of this in the news?? Why the DEAFENING SILENCE??
Usually this type of Story get much news attention, BUT not this one. WHY IS THIS?? Does the Owner of Bartini's have some sort of affiliation with someone or some entity that is keeping this story Quiet??? Very Strange indeed.
Let's get Haroon and his Family some Justice here. BUT it seems as thought his Story is being swept under the Carpet for some reason.
If this story got some Airtime, Bartini's would have a serious problem with their Bottom-line during this Holiday Season, and possibly forever. WHO IS HUSHING THIS STORY UP, AND KEEPING IT OUT OF THE MEDIA?? Maybe the FOREST HILLS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND IT'S ASSOCIATES IN THE POLITICAL ARENA ARE KEEPING THIS STORY QUIET. BAD FOR BUSINESS AND ALL THAT!!!!
Let's get this story investigated, instead of hearing the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills stating that right now, the man died of Cardiac Arrest. NO SHIT SHERLOCK, AS EVERYONE DIES OF CARDIAC ARREST, WHEN THEY ARE DEAD!!!
Let's get some JUSTICE HERE!!!
I guess if Harroon DIED in BARTINI'S, it would have been a whole different story. Nevertheless, a Full Investigation should BEGIN IMMEDIATELY.
Reminds me of a Bar named Danielle's on Austin Street, which used to be Heskel's. Danielles was owned by a Guy who was an NYPD Higher Up. When shit happened at Danielle's, it was swept under the Carpet pretty quickly. UNTIL one Day the SHIT became too much, and eventually this THUG Bar was shut down. Guys were getting beat of by Thugs there on a regular basis, for a long time. The thugs were affiliated with the Bouncers, etc.
I wonder if that is what is Happening with Bartini's. Is their an affiliation between the Owners of thew now defunct Danielle's and the Owners of Bartini's??? Hmmmmm......
Let's see the good old 112th Precinct dish out some Justice in this Sad Story. No doubt, if the Victim was an Off-Duty Cop, this Investigation would be On Fire!!
*Sigh* I wish you were fun Bartinis Ive tried you out a few times because I was hopeful, but you always disappoint.
The place is dirty, in a basement, its always dead... and the drinks are expensive. Music is ok, but not enough to go back.
I will however hold you dear to my heart because 3 years ago I made out with my boyfriend for the first time, in your smelly unoccupied couches.
This place is a pit.
On a Saturday night I trekked here for a surprise birthday party. After wandering around the suburban block and asking at Jade where I could find Bartinis, I spied the mini neon sign with an arrow pointing down. I should have paid attention to the direction of that arrow, as it was the direction the rest of the night went, with quickness.
I sat there, alone, for an hour, waiting for the party to arrive. (Turns out they were vastly delayed, but that's another issue.) There was one unfortunate couple that came in for 20 minutes and started dry-humping in the middle of the dance floor. Besides them it was me, the cocktail waitress who could not hear me over the too-loud music and therefore got my drink order wrong twice, and two muclehead bouncers/managers. The rest of the night I remember only in flashes of misery:
Upon opening that door I was affronted with the dueling scents of pee and cleaning supplies.
The stairs under my feet are saggy and covered in carpet so tired it made me want a nap.
An empty low-ceilinged basement with tile floor that in general reminded me of the Saw movies.
Wet (wet!) fake velvet banquets whose torn edges pressed damp foam up against the back of my knees.
The awful too-loud bass beatz straight out of 1998. Were there a crowd they surely would have been fist pumping.
I gave up on waiting for the other party guests and took the long train ride home to Harlem, where even in the ghetto our clubs are not that ghetto.
Now you might think, Kate F., "How can you judge a lounge if it was basically empty the whole time and you were just sitting there by yourself?" and at first I might agree with you... but then I'd realize that the dirty pit of despair that I was able to see unfettered by drunk patrons covering the gum-covered floor and without the scent of Axe body spray and sweat equalizing the smell of pee was a gift of knowledge which I, on a busy night, otherwise would have missed. If their floor looks like that how well tended must their bar be? If a basic beer costs $7 but they let their their torn couches look like that, how well managed must their staff be? I'm lucky I learned the easy way, instead of catching salmonella from a dirty glass or catching attitude from a nasty bouncer.
Never ever ever in a thousand years would I ever go the Bartini in Forrest Hills again. It was so gross I came home and showered even though my hair was still wet from my gettin' ready shower hours previous. Ew.
This place has been around for years, growing up in the area it was one of the first places I hit up when I was younger and staying local. 5-6 years ago this place was cool and chill, now...wow I don't know what happened but it was a totally different scene, a lot more of a relaxed and ghettofied crowd to say the least. lol
I thought maybe it was the night...but no I went on a different night to give it another shot but no luck, the crowd was lame, the 40 year old bartender who always showed preference to the females (seriously guy we all know its the guys who spend and leave the heavy tips) was lame...so overall lame experience twice for a spot that use to be a sure thing. Very disappointing!
The best thing about Bartinis is that for Queens residents it's local. My 1st time there was over a year ago, I had some appetizers & drink with a few friends & it was ok, however it was on a week day. This past Sat I went and it was way too packed for such a small space, but even worst the crowd that packed it ......................... Lets just say where are the beautiful people? Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Amost forgot to mention stilletos and cobble stone DONT MIX...... so ladies BE CAREFUL walking from your car to this spot!!!
Review Source:first time i went to this place was like 4 years ago, since i live in the gardens, so is like 6 blocks away from me. crowd was cute and nice but last time i been there was terrible. it was like year ago, i am never gonna go bacvk there. i dont know where is these people coming from, but i saw girls picking fights, very low class girls and guys, def not a place to pick a date or some like that, ugly!!!
its not worth to go there anymore!!!!
Rude bouncer staff. Â Extremely rigid about coat-checking coats and hats. Â Place is a little full of itself, considering what it is: Â a basement dump underneath a train station with expensive drinks and a not-so-sophisticated crowd. Â "Ladies night" is a pretty useless promotion.
One (+) though: Â DJs plays pretty good music.
Been there twice, never plan on going back.
If you're a chic and it's a Thursday night and you are around the hood, give it a try for Free Cosmos on Thursday Ladies night, I believe from 930 pm, otherwise it's really ehhh. Mostly latin music and flavor. It is pretty nice in there, I just wish it was more of a different crowd, the place def gets some umm "not too high class" girls and guys for that matter...as Natalie M. said below, it's probably an easy place to pick up a chic, especially on a Thursday, most of them are looking for that here, I am just not sure you are going to want these chics. Also, although the drinks might be free, you will pay for it the next day - full of the artificial sugary mix and bad alcohol. Since the atmosphere is pretty nice, this place is might be ok earlier than 10pm for a post dinner date cocktail.
Review Source:This is a tiny basement lounge/club next to Jade lounge.
On rainy Saturday, we were trying to get in to the lounge, and the bouncers blocked my friends because they were in sneakers. (gosh I was lucky that I was all kinda dressed up.) Anyways, we finally got in, and checked in our coat.(Coat check is $2.) There was a tiny lounge/dance floor a half full of people in the basement. A half of the people were on a side just watching the rest dancing. (hm. kinda creepy, fellas!) The dance floor was a bit slippery and I saw a lady fell down. Drinks were expensive. A bottle of beer costs $7. It was ridiculous that there was a (looking like a normal high school boy) bathroom boy in the bathroom giving paper towels and waiting for tips.
I am not a fan of this lounge, but if I am around I will come back for more discovery. :)
I love Forest Hills, but the neighborhood definitely lacks any good lounges to go to. Â Bartinis is in a basement, and you'll leave this place smelling like you lived in a musty basement. Â The decor is dingy and could use a good cleaning. Â The atmosphere has a dirty, skanky, frat party vibe to it. Â Ladies get free martinis on Thursday nights, but I wouldn't recommend them, unless you want to puke and have a migraine the next morning. Â When midnight comes around, a lot of girls start showing up in tiny dresses, so it's probably an easy place for guys to get girls. Â The DJs are horrible, and the busted out speakers make Bartinis even more annoying.
Review Source:Can't go wrong a far as having a "local" night out.
You cannot compare this place to anywhere else in the city. It's apples and oranges. Queens is a whole different animal...and forest hills is a whole different sub-species of that animal.
I've come here as a single guy and in relationships and always was treated with respect at the door and at the bar. The music can be hit or miss sometimes (with the over-mixing), but overall the energy in this parent's basement style lounge is good to very good.
Yeah, you'll see the occasional 65 year old man dancing around with his fedora cap on but you know what.......there were still 3 or 4 girls dancing around him. All I can say is good for him.
Drinks have always been mixed well and the martini selection has something for everyone. Every time I brought a date to this place after dinner they always had a good time. Good drinks + Good Mix + Decent Crowd = Nice Evening = second date
So what if the bouncer looks like Deebo from Friday. Crack a smile, pay the $2 coat check and get your 2-5 minutes worth of dance moves ready.
sticky floors. Â thats what i'll always remember about this place.
this place is rather odd. Â its a bit isolated from the other austin street bars and the block is under heavy construction. Â it looks like a hotel.
me and a group of 15 people headed over here on new years eve after the ball drop. Â they were charging $20 but let our entire group in for $120. Â the bouncer probably pocketed this but who cares. Â any other night, this place is free.
tried to check my coat but was told coat check was full. Â wow, this is a first. Â normally they force this upon us to get some extra loot. Â stupid queens clubs. Â as we head downstairs, a weird mix of house, hip hop and reggaeton destroyed my ears. Â just wasn't my style. Â i liked the original songs but the dj remixed it to death. Â then came the weird blue liquid. Â it seemed to be everywhere on the ground making for sticky floors. Â not sure how my friends danced as my foot was glued down. Â i was hoping for some break dancers to come and started doing groundwork on the ground that smurfs jacked off to. Â my friend's neck was covered in a blue stain afterwards and my other friend's jacket also had blue stains. Â not sure how that all happened. Â girls here are unpick-up-able. Â they all stayed with each other w/o even the attempt to dance with anyone.
blue fluids, sticky floors, isolate area, stupid girls. Â i don't think i'll be back. Â teaches me to go to a queens club/lounge.
Alright, with bar/clubs, it all depends on the crowd and whether or not the facility is a nice one. Oh, and whether or not they have good drink specials.
Thursday night, broads get to drink practically for free the whole night. Which doesn't help me unless I go with some lady friends and they smuggle me some drinks. The martinis menu is extensive, but that means absolutely nothing. Can they make good drinks? Can they actually execute the menu? And they can for the most part...
The bouncers are douche bags. Typical overgrown bulky morons that think they are big-shots because they are working the door. The DJ the few times I went there catered to the 'thug element' that they generally attract. Its not an upscale club when they let savages in wearing jeans and sneakers. And that I bothersome.
The couches they just dragged in there could use some cleaning. Better yet, drive around Forest Hills, and whatever furniture you see being thrown out by residents would be an upgrade than the crap they have in there now.
A lot of big boned ladies go. Asian women that like the darker persuasion. And what I like, sassy Spanish broads that love to wear J.LO jewelry and could easily be persuaded to hang out afterwards if you take them out to a burger joint afterwards. No disrespect off course.
I'll go in again. Heck, why not...
The good - ladies night on Thursdays, some of the music
The bad- everything else
I came here with some friends on a Thursday night for ladies night. This place has a lot of potential, but a lot of bad things to it as well. The bouncer/deejay isn't that friendly, and neither are the bartenders. I know it's not fun to serve free drinks, but at least kind of pretend you aren't miserable?
The martini's were good and well made, and best of all FREE, but the rest of the experience is kind of wack. The place feels like your in a basement and they have incense burning everywhere, and it stinks. Bad enough that I reeked of nag champa the next day. Not to mention there was barf  that was sitting there next to our booth that stank like crazy, I almost wasn't sure which smell was worse.
The music was decent, one of every three songs was good, the rest were pretty cheesy, but this isn't the kind of place you come to dance. Â the night that I went ended up being a good night, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
Went to this place for one of my girlfriends cousins birthdays. Let me just say this place is not for the young crowd. I'm 21, so I guess that kind of puts me close to the bottom of the age rung for places like this but this place seriously has a slightly older tint. I saw a lady who literally looked my mom grinding up on some dude. Not pleasant.
I will say the DJ was ok but the whole place just feels like I'm chilling inside my friends basement and less like a nightlife venue.
whoa! Â I imagine this is what "Queens does LB" looks like. Apologies to Queens.
Music too loud, sketch crowd (sorry, my friends didnt want to get "superman'ed that ho" by random strangers), floor tiles missing en route to what really should be a basement level apartment  rather than made a quasi-martini bar.  I'd trust the frat guys to throw a better party- yup, its like that.
Wait, did this guy really try and ask me for two bucks after I got my own soap and my own paper towels in the bathroom? Â toilet bowl attendant, double-you Tee eff ? I didnt even take one of your starlight mints! Â I respect the hustle, but back off son.
Pluses- music is good. Â 3 martini's, 2 vodka tonics, 2 margarita's ran $44 which I thought was a deal. Minuses- everything else.
Moral of the story- bring lots of friends, or better yet, throw your own party. Â or bring a taser to Bartinis.
I went to this place for the first time on a Saturday night and had a GREAT time! The DJ knew how to spin great music. My friends and I were dancing all night till they kicked us out. The daylight savings time threw us off.
The Watermelon Martini was PERFECT. Not too strong, and not too sweet. The bar tenders were nice too!
They could clean up the bathroom a little more often though.
If you are going there with a group of friends make sure you get there by 10pm to get a good table/chairs because by 1AM, the place gets packed and you have no where to sit. My friends took up the entire black couches area right next to the DJ which was awesome.
Another good thing about this lounge is that they offer free valet parking and the valet tenants are careful with your car. I also like the fact that there is a mix crowd of people, there was black folks, white people, asian, latino, etc.
I would go there again!
If you want to stay in Queens for the night, odds are you can't really go wrong. Â
Drinks are strong and hard, not to mention about $10 for the average drink.  I heard they have over 200 martini's but never bothered to look.  The bartenders are always friendly, but sometimes it does get packed and ordering a drink can be a pain.  All the times that I have been, I can say  from my own experience it seems to be a cool collection of people.  Not the creepy guys or the immature crowd either.  The crowd is mixed which is great.
The music is cool, a  great variety of house, pop, R&B, Soca, Reggae - just about everything.  Sometimes the DJ may replay a song or two which gets a little annoying but it does not happen that often.  It's mostly a Fri/Sat spot.  On Thursdays from 8-10  (not sure about the time), they have free cosmos for ladies.  The night I went on a Thursday it was Dead as crap.  I went on like the coldest night of the winter, maybe that's why and the bartender told me its usually a good crowd, so hey..
Ring Ring...Jamel...what are you doing...mindin my bidness...why? Â We are going to Bartinis...meet us there...click...
Not knowing what I was walking into, I head to this Forest Hills venue after getting the address from Yelp. Â You walk in to a bouncer and a coat check girl. Â After paying two dollars and watching her climb the room like spider woman, I walk down stairs, still not knowing what to expect. Â I pan the room. Â The heat is on. Â Literally. Â It was hot. Â As I listen to hip hop and some old school being spun I look around and marvel at the rainbow coalition that I was to spend my night with. Â Bartinis is a reflecting of everything local, black, white, asian, older and younger all vibin to the beat. Â Well, some people had their own beat, but they got an A for effort. Â They have blue moon. Â This is a plus. Â They serve it in a bottle with no orange. Â But I lived. Â And that is Bartinis. Â If we were vampires, the club with the amazing time is blood and bartinis is tru blood. Â (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftrubeverage.com%2F&s=7bdfdea277e6d14aa20861a8801cc262b6a9e879e4fb97d557dbc0ce9687e243" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://trubeverage.com/</a>). Â You get just what you need and it will help you live. Â Oh..and they have lots of Martinis. Â however, when you are in a club like lounge, do you really wanna be rollin with a martini glass? Â Unless ur taking shots of it, someone might be wearing it. Â That someone might be you! Â Friends are mandatory. Â Coat check is not. Â However, unless you live on the sun, you are going to be uncomfortable and you will stink. Â Do yourself a favor, spend the two bucks. ok..ok...do me the favor. Â Thanks.
okay okay okay... let me explain the three stars.
firstly, you have to compare queens places with queens places.
dont go runnin' off comparting them to manhattan's swanks-villes!
yes, this place does try to come off as some swanky joint. but its really not.
its a lounge when you go on a week night
its a club when you on on a fri-sun night.
expect creepy guys... who are cheap....
and there arent a lot of asians at this club (always on the look out for my people!!!)
and always expect (on the club nights) a group of talllll haaaandsome black men. ooof! when i say tall and handsome! i mean it!
whooo!
the music is loud and only good on the nights its considered a club.
drinks are like 9 bucks or so-- a littttle expensive for queens
the space is very small when people dance so dont wear no fancy shoes.
no cover, but you MUST check your coat. they make you.
enjoy yourself!
its queens!
Now its always hard to judge a lounge/club type place in queens when you frequent places in Manhattan. Â However, this place was cute and the martinis were pretty good. The music at the beginning of the night is relatively cheesy but gets better as the crowd appears which is generally around 11.
If you really want to dance and have a great time I wouldn't necessarily suggest this place because although people do dance, its such a small space to really let loose.
This place is a club. Â This is in no way, shape or form a lounge. Â If you come here after 10:00 pm (meaning 10:01 pm) it is a club atmosphere.
Again, like most places I've been to in Forest Hills, not my scene. Â Not that I have a scene, but this isn't it.
The chocolate martini was good, but I can get one for the same price on the Lower East Side.
Theres 2 kinds of people, one of which is the type that will make the commute to Manhattan or Brooklyn to go to a nice, trendy, upbeat, and rockin club/lounge/bar, and then theres people like my sister who want to stay local and go to Bartinis or somewhere like Lemontree. I mean, Bartinis is cute, increeeeeeeeeeedibly ghetto sometimes, but... I don't know that many places with a martini BOOK, with hundreds upon hundreds of different martini's. Its incredible... if it wasnt for that, then I don't think this place would be a big deal. The space is incredibly small though. Sometimes I think they try a little bit too hard to make it "cool." In my opinion, it has the feel of a high school basement party. Oh and lets not forget to mention that its a straight bar, and Gay Night ceased to exist. Nice job Bartinis.
...The music there is great though...
I don't love martini's but the one I had here (a Hawaiiatini) was pretty delicious. They have over 600 different martini's on their bar menu - fruity ones, creamy ones, exotic ones, pretty much any one you can possibly think of will be on the list. Be careful though, they only have 2 or 3 menus behind the bar and the laminated pages stick together from what I assume could be spilled drinks. Needless to say, the menu stinks. Literally.
The lounge is very cozy with very comfortable couches. Great place for a small or big crowd. I went on a weekday and it was pretty dead. I'm definitely going back to check it out on a weekend. I just moved to the area and I'm excited that there's a cool local joint.
