Balding men and large women in oversized bowling outfits stuffing their faces with nachos, breathing heavily and intently bowling perfect spinners to be Masters of the Universe! Â If that's your image of bowling alleys, you must be new to South Beach!
Lucky Strike is less a bowling alley than it is a lounge that has lanes where you can toss a bowling ball if the fancy strikes you (get it?). Â Location is perfect, right off Lincoln Road and the decor is what someone in Miami may imagine a cool bowling alley should look like. Â comfortable lounge chairs, low lighting, a stacked bar, hot wait staff and decent food to keep you occupied, while you mingle with friends and pretend to bowl. Â TV screens and over-priced rates are, of course, par for the course, considering where this is located. Â This location also has the nice advantage of not having too many kids running around, which tends to ruin a perfectly good buzz.
I give it 3 stars, because it is not exactly a bowling alley, not exactly a bar, and not exactly a lounge, but as the sum of all three, it does a decent enough job that should make this place a destination every now and again.
I just had another enjoyable lunch at Lucky Strike Lanes. I have been going to this place ever since I started working in South Beach. Â They have a great happy hour, an awesome staff, excellent food choices far superior to any other "bowling alley" I've ever been to and a fun environment. Â
I've been here for lunch, dinner, private events and to bowl and never had anything other than a great time.
Make sure you try the Truffle Cheese Mini Burgers and the Turkey Club. Â Both are top-notch!
If you're into bowling then this place should be just fine. Â I came for an event so I can't really comment of how they run the day to day operations or the type of crowd (although I will say that I hope to god the crowd is an upgrade from last night). Â The bathrooms were really gross and smell like sewage. Â The inside is nice enough although not many bowling lanes. I like the lounge/seating area. Â They also have two pool tables and some TVs. Â The parking garage was expensive $15/$20 flat rate for the garage...I could valet for cheaper at many places. Â Overall I wasn't impressed and wont be going back.
Review Source:I've visited Lucky Strike a couple times in the past , and each time I've gone I've had a great time.
Lucky Strike is conveniently located in the center of Miami Beach off of Lincoln Road. They have happy hour available weekdays which is really great for those who work in the area. Each time I've visited it has been either for a party or during happy hour so I can't really complain about the prices. I think Lucky Strike is a lot of fun and a great place to go with friends. Last time I visited was for my company's holiday party and we all had a great time. We reserved two lanes and were able to order anything off of the menu to eat. Some of the things I really liked from the menu were the grilled apple and brie quesadillas and mac and cheese bites.
Lucky Strike is more about the atmosphere than bowling. It has steep prices, but the menu is pretty good and I don't know of any other bowling alley that offers food and drinks like Lucky Strike does.
Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge is part of a fairly large chain of similar themed bowling alleys which are located throughout the US.
I've been to this location on a handful of occasions. Â The cool thing about Lucky strike is that it offers more than just bowling. Â If you arrive and need to wait for a lane to open up, there's a bar, a few pool tables and several screens to watch while you wait. Â If you're with a group and not everyone in your party is into bowling, there are options for those wanting to do something else. Â Likewise, if you finish your game and want to have a beer, some food and BS for a while, you can have a seat at the bar or grab a table or booth.
This place offers 14 bowling lanes, they have 2 pool tables, lots of screens which are usually showing sports programming, a full bar, and a fairly extensive food menu as well. Â
While this a fun place to come with friends, and it's in a great location adjacent to Lincoln Road, know that a night spent at Lucky Strike can be on the expensive side. Â It's definitely not the cheapest place to bowl, and you'll pay about the same for the food here as you'd pay at many of the better restaurants on SoBe. Â Note as well that this place is only open to those 21 and over after 9 p.m., and there is a dress code.
I came here during the afternoon for my girlfriends birthday. The staff was attentive and helpful. However, the bowling lanes were very run down. I had to switch lanes two times due to a faulty pin picker machine and water leakage on the sofa- the second lane kept dropping pins and had to be constantly reset. We switched from lane 1 with a leaky AC to lane 3 with a faulty pin picker machine to lane 4- which worked fine. Also, 18% gratuity was included on the bill- the norm for South Beach.
Review Source:Went there with some friends not to play bowling but to watch 2 Heat games.
Great to watch games and eat food.
They serve mini burgers (we've tried the chicken, salmon and beef and only the beef was good).
Also tried pizza and it was just above the quality of a frozen pizza.
Safest choice is the club sandwich which is very good.
Prices are affordable
Thank the bartender for your one star lucky strike. I figured my girlfriend and I could have a drink at the bar before we start our bowling game. I order her a vodka soda and I chose a draft coors light-$18.50!!!! Where am I?? The Florida Room? As we sit for a few minutes we notice that it is happy hour and our drinks should have been $7.00 for both. I approach the bartender and question the original drink price seeing that I ordered them at 10:15, 15 full minutes after happy hour started. He gives me a rude look and then ignores us and acts like he is to busy to speak. Finally he gives me some lame bs excuse of how the drinks go by what's off the computer. In my opinion I think he stole the money and didn't ring anything up. Straight into his pocket.
The place itself is beautiful but I refuse to be served by people that obviously have no idea about hospitality. The ownership should get better managers who oversee what's really going on in the day to day operations. I didn't  see a single manager on the floor on a considerably busy night.  That's crazy to me. I work in a restaurant and sometime 3-4 managers on the floor at once. Good luck Lucky Strike I'll be back, everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
From the reviews I've read seems like this place is a lil pricey during normal hours. I've come here twice and both times happened to be during happy hour,,,so my experience is different. The atmosphere is cool, they have a dj spinning, pool tables. the lanes are dark with the sides being neon and the pins and ball are neon also. The only problem I had was that their was this distinctive smell when I was sitting at the bar. Both times I came that smell was there. I don't know if the bartenders or workers have grown immune to it or they just don't care, but I had to switch to the tables across the bar because that odor was just getting too much.
well defff come again....during happy hour only lol.
One of my co-workers decided we should all come here for lunch. And that was the first mistake.
Second mistake: Ordering the Asian Salad. $13 for a pile of sad, romaine lettuce, the majority of which was the hard spines. There were a few shreds of other vegetables hidden inside and a handful of paper-thin wantons tossed haphazardly in a pile on the side. I figured mine might not be as good because I ordered it sans chicken but the guy next to me ordered it with the meat and the first words out of his mouth was "That salad sucked." Not only did it suck but it was ugly too. I don't often attack my food's self-esteem, but this one was the Quasimodo of salads. Our waitress was sweet and somewhat attentive and split our check eight ways so that was one good thing.
Third mistake: Going to the bathroom. There was some unidentifiable scent that raped each of my nostrils individually. I'm more upset at the mystery of it rather than the smell itself. If I could figure out what it was, then I could take care of business and be on my way. But because the stench was such a complete enigma, I am still worried that although I tried to hold my breath I might have inhaled something that is going to somehow infect me or make my body host to a parasitic alien and then I'll end up on one of those TLC medical mystery documentary specials. Â
Sorry, Lucky. Three strikes and you're out.
Bowling evokes images of ugly smelly rental shoes, dirty vinyl sofas, florescent lights, greasy food, and cheap beer. Â None of these applies to Lucky Strike, except maybe the ugly shoe part.
Ambience is good, mellow lighting, not-too-loud music. Â Service could be improved (I know how quick quesadillas are made. Â We waited waaaay too long). Â Brie and apple quesadilla was unexpectedly wonderful. Â The wings disappeared quickly. Â Get there during happy hours, the specials make it worth it, and don't forget your socks...buying them is highway robbery! Â
All in all, I will go again. Â A fun time was had by all.
So I'm not exactly a Big Lebowski-esque bowler. Honestly, I bowl once in a blue moon. Sometimes it's entertaining with the right people, but mainly, I like this place for their bar.
The atmosphere here is chill and comfortable. They have tons of couches for the non-bowlers to lounge.
I've been here twice for complimentary events, and they ran out of drinks both times. Granted, it's free, so you can't really complain, I just thought twice was a little odd. PBRs are $2.50 though, which is a major win!
Staff is friendly.
I definitely need to try more of their food options. Had some cheese bread pudding and it was freakin' amazing.
I also love that the staffers get up and dance. So cute.
This place is fine for an occasional excursion, but I wouldn't go out of my way to hang out here. I think I prefer Splitsville, personally.
This place looks like a lot of fun, and it is if you like to spend a lot of money on bowling and expensive drinks. ($6 for one Yuengling bottle?)
The ambiance is nice. Typical dark lit, neon-lighty bowling lanes. A few pool tables on the side, a Dj spinning some music, and a fun photo booth for zuper funny pics.
Happy hour is cool though. From 4pm-7pm they have Corona's for $2, and a few other drink specials.
So when the waitresses come around wearing their little "Feeling Lucky?" shirts, and it's AFTER happy hour? I would say no.
"I haven't had sex in eight months. To be honest, I now prefer to go bowling."-Lil' Kim
I love me some Lil'Kim, but maybe that's taking things a little too far.
That said, if you need to get your bowling freak on, Lucky Strike in Sobe is a perfect destination. Located perfectly in the middle of all the Lincoln Road action, Lucky Strike is inviting, organized, well staffed and perhaps, a bit small. I imagine it's hard to find a spot on a busy night.
Some may argue that bowling alleys should be dirty and smell bad. I understand the desire for that aesthetic . It's sorta like saying you know you're having a "real" pizza if it is a misshapen, imperfect oval. True enough.
But, once in a while, you want something fresh and shiny in your life.
Lucky Strike has a tempting food and drink menu. Be sure to carefully think out your choices if you are there to actually bowl. Juicy, fried finger foods are a dream when guzzling beers with pals. Try to make sure you have clean hands when it comes down to the bowling. Those foods are really good, by the way.
Bowling enthusiasts may think the lanes are not lit well enough and that the place is too noisy. Don't be fooled, though. Lucky Strike has a very clear and obvious mission which is to bring friends together through a traditional game while maintaining a hip, fun setting.
Great place. Enjoy.
Steeerike! Oh wait, this isn't baseball. Oh wait, the term does apply. I'm so confused!
It's been ages since I've been to a bowling lane and a day later, I remember why; my arm hurts!! I'm not a professional bowler, but I do play one on TV. Wowzah my wrist to elbow hurt! Yes, I know that's a result from throwing the ball incorrectly, but heck, I'm not a professional bowler.
The lanes are located just off Lincoln Road. Parking is VERY conveniently just across the street (metered). The lanes are lit in black light and the bar is nice and big. Plenty of pool tables and a modern DJ spinning modern pop tunes.
Prices are steeper than what I'd enjoy to pay for a bowling lane, but it is South Beach. The mandatory 20% gratuity makes service spotty at times, but the short skirts on the waitresses makes up for 10-13% of that. Smoking is prohibited and everything clean make for a good experience.
Bottom Line: If you're looking for cheap bowling, this isn't it. On the flip side, it's a good experience.
Talk about taking an old concept and making it totally Hip!
First I had no idea where this place was even on GPS. It's on the left if you're traveling south and yeah the door kinda did hit me in the face.
It is nestled very nicely nearby Lincoln Road, parking could be a challenge so get there a bit early.
Inside, wow. Looks like a club. Great sofas for lounging for the non-bowlers and great lanes for the "wanna-be" pros.
The service is great and snack food is awesome. My personal favorite were the grilled cheese sliders.
Not too much of a bowling fan, primarily because I suck. But next time I go, this would the place.
Remember that neighborhood bowling alley you grew up on that was your frequent hang out as a kid? Â Yeah, this aint it.
Despite its attractive retro style decor & perfect SoBe location, just one hour of bowling at this establishment will set you back $60 or more.
The one with the real lucky strikes here is the owner.
This place is top notch!
First of all, they have a great happy hour! The drinks are strong and they have an extensive selection of liquor. I am really partial to a flavored vodka with soda and there is no end to the flavored vodka selection they stock. Root beer, bubblegum, pomegranite, blueberry, blackberry... the list just goes on and on. The bartenders and servers are friendly and efficient.
I love watching sports in a sports bar and it's awesome that they have so many screens. Especially during college football season, it's a great way to multi-task and squeeze in a few games at once!
The food is also surprisingly good! I like the tuna "lollipops" in particular, and the sandwiches are great.
I've never had a wait to get a lane when I've come here for bowling, and while It can get expensive if you bowl during "prime time", but if you want to bowl early in the evening or during the day, it's quite affordable.
Two caveats... yes, I know it's a bowling alley, but good lord, there are tons of kids! Even late night!
Also, the last time we were there (last month), we used our credit card. Logged in to check the account 24 hours later and found that someone must have made a copy of the card and charged up a bunch of stuff at Guru and a few liquor stores. So you might want to pay cash!
I came here once with a Groupon deal. The shoe rental and even a food voucher were all included. We came in when they opened on a Saturday so it wasn't crowded at all. It was nice. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
Despite the place being empty, our drinks were empty most of the time and it took forever to order and receive an appetizer. We had a problem with our lane and it took them a while to come over and help us. We kept having the problem, but just played through because we didn't want to wait. We also didn't pay per game. Our Groupon was for 2 hours of bowling, so all that waiting time cut into playing time.
The place is cool inside. Feels like a bar or lounge with bowling alleys. I can see why it's popular for nighttime entertainment. The appetizer was good, but the prices are pretty high. Thankfully, our Groupon included a voucher for some food, but we still ended up paying quite a bit on top of it.
When we left, my brother and I stopped in their little instant photo booth. It took my money and the manager had no idea how to credit me.I ended up calling the vendor who said that Lucky Strike should have given me the money and then called the vendor directly to collect. Not a big deal, but it was all the little things that kept this place from being awesome.
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this place....sometimes I want to give it negative stars, other times I want to give it 4.
Bad things-
-more often than not our orders are either not put in or forgotten or their kitchen is slower than slow (I'm talking well over an hour to get food)
-takes FOREVER to get you bill when you want to leave (we waited WELL over an hour to even ASK for someone to bring out tab because the waitress was MIA....)
Good things-
-lots of TVs to watch sports
-they have decent drink specials for the world cup
-comfy booths to watch the sports in
-they give you a free bowling game coupon if you watch during world cup
SO, the servers are nice, pretty girls....however, the service tends to suck (very slow, things forgotten/missing). So, if you're not thirsty or starving this is a decent place to enjoy watching a game with friends, I just know I've been better places ;)
I like these new bowling alleys, where you don't even have to bowl to have a great time. Well we bowled and then went over to the bar and had some pretty good drinks, the appetizers are quite good as well and the service was charming.
So this is a good place to enjoy different experiences in one night.
Yes ! I am a fan!
Thanks to Marcos for setting up here to watch Italy vs. New Zealand. Early in the morning we venture off to come here, never been inside this place. When we first arrived the only person inside was Marcos. I was amazed at the big screens and comfy couches throughout. After a few minutes more people arrived. Our server named Kimmy was super sweet and gave great service.
We all had the breakfast buffet for $8. We had scrambled egg's, bacon, potato's, french toast, and croissants. Breakfast was fresh and good. I drank mimosa's for $5. Joseluis came to watch part of the game, he ordered his breakfast which consisted of a bucket of beer. LOL
Between the great service, excellent company, the food, the decor we had such a great time. So glad Marcos set this up and we came here. Great place to watch a game or bowl, or play some pool. The bar area was long with many booths of comfy couches. Great place to come with friends. Looking forward to trying some slider's that I read about.
Cool place, that I will come back to again and again. Much thanks Marcos, we had a fabulous time.
Came here today for a kids birthday party. Â Typical...my little kid arrives in and proudly shows to all that the wee feck has only ONE sock on...WTF???? Â What am I rearing at all? Â OK we'll deal with the cooties for one day and later on try to figure out what was going on in that little mind of his when he dressed himself.
I like this place. Â I like that the bar is at the far end away from the lanes so if you are at a kids party, its like you are in another room and the bar is not in your face (not that I wouldn't MIND the bar being in my face, just that being with kids you have to leash in the party animal).
I like how the bar area is laid out so that every table has a great view of the multi tv screen panel over the bar. Â This would be a super cool place to come with a gang of like minded friends to watch a special game, have a bite to eat and finish the night with a game of bowling. Â No need to go anywhere else and this place is laid back enough that jeans and a tshirt are dressed up enough.
Back to the party.
They noshed upon some tasty pizza, hot dogs, french fries, lemonade, popcorn. Â Service was not to be faulted. Â Lemonade and water pitchers were topped up, dirty dishes were swept away promptly and all in all it was quite acceptable. Â My ONLY gripe was with the ice bucket. Â Please invest in some inexpensive ice bucket liners rather than dump the ice into a napkin in a beer bottle bucket.
As for the bowling, the kids went at it gung ho. Â My baby took to it like a PRO, he TALKED to those skittles, he chose his ball carefully and wham...he took it. Â The skittle whisperer.
A super fun day for the kids, and the big kid was super thankful for the free wi-fi and comfy couch to sprawl his teenage body upon (and perhaps, when mom wasn't looking, turn an eye to the shorts skirted waitresses)
Food was what could have gotten at local lanes but it was kid party food so have to come back for more adult fare.
Service was good
Bathrooms were clean
Lots of tv - good to come watch a sporting event and have some nibbles and spend a night bowling
Parking typical south beach but there are lots of options.
I've been to Lucky Strikes a few times throughout the years and I can always say that I've never had a bad time here. Compared to Splitsville, this place feels bigger and spacious. The lanes, all 14 of them have enough room for you and your party to sit or stand and mingle nearby. I've never had to make a reservation but I suppose it would be smart to call ahead and get one if you are going in on one of the busier nights of the week.
Even if you had to wait for a lane, they've got a couple of pool tables that you can kill time with and a bar to get your drink on. With all the neon lights, vibrant colors and multitude of bright televisions playing sports, Lucky Strikes really give you vibe and the atmosphere that you are here to do one thing: To have fun!
I haven't even talked about the music. Last time I went they had an awesome DJ that was spinning mashups (mixing one song with another to create something completely different). I was very impressed and having a live DJ is always better than jukebox music. At a recent Yelp Elite event, Lucky Strikes showed us that they got what it takes to create a menu full of great tasting foods like the Key West Chicken Skewers, Mac & Cheese Bites and Turkey Burger. With their new extended Friday Happy Hour, drinks are half off from 4pm till 9pm, proving you can still find a fun deal in SoBe!
Parking is super easy too, something I have to consider when going to South Beach. They have a lot right across the place, and two parking garages within walking distance: one on Alton and Lincoln, and another on 17th street between Euclid Ave and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Being a bowling fanatic for years now, I found myself actually enjoying the atmosphere at The Bowling Wars 2 tonight. Although I am all for the traditional style bowling alleys, this one wasnt too bad. The music was nice, the lights werent too dim and the tuna was delicious. Not to mention the great costumes.
The location is great, allowing for a nice stroll after a strike or two (if youve got the skills I clearly lack). The wait-staff was very nice considering they were rushing around like crazy people trying to feed our Yelpers. The techonology was great and they had enough balls of every weight to go around (if youre big on bowling you know how annoying it is when you cant find any 8lb balls because one team is hogging them all).
I will, without a doubt, be going to this location to bowl again soon. Â Veyr recommendable.
I have to say this is one of my favorite places, the staff is always wonderful and the food is great. I have been to Lucky Strike a lot and I have never had a bad experience. One of my favorites is the baked potato chips, they come loaded with sour cream, bacon and chives and they are SO good. The pizza is also awesome and they have some really good specialty drinks, they have these martinis with pop rocks on the rim, yummy. The music is always good and if you want to watch a game or any sports they have quite a few big screen TV's in the bar/restaurant area. If you are in the mood you can also bowl.

Yes, this place is too expensive. I can't help but give it 5 stars anyway. I love this place.
The difficulty with this place is it is something of a new species altogether. If you just want to go bowling, save your money, go somewhere else. If you just want to get a few drinks, save your money, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a hip club type place, go someplace else.
This, to me, is the type of place to go for an occasion. Whatever the occasion may be, is up to you. Super fun date spot. My fiance and I went early (8ish) on a Saturday night. The crowd was low, the good times were high. :) The drinks are indeed pricey, but not more than if we went out to a nice restaurant. The food is delicious and (surprisingly) reasonably priced. I had the tuna burger and I cannot say enough good things about it. It was small but filling, particularly because it comes with fries (yay, they were also good). My fiance ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was also quite good, definitely less greasy than i was expecting (good thing). We paid for an hour of bowling. It was (once again) a bit pricey but, for two people, that was just enough time for three full games. I loved every moment!
I've been to the D.C. location with a group of friends and have been wanting to go back ever since. This location was smaller, but just as fun.
There are plenty of reviews for Lucky Strike, but I was curious to see how the place was on a Friday night. I have been to lucky strike during the week, but never on a Friday. I made my way down last Friday to check it out.
It was definitely much less crowded than on a Thursday (granted I got there around 11).
Drinks weren't cheap but we were with good people so it was fun times as always. There was only 1 bartender, which was definitely not enough even though though the bar wasn't packed (or even close), Â so needless to say the service wasn't the greatest. ---
Long story short, I'll make my way back to Lucky Strike for a special occasion with good friends, but I think i'll stay local if i want to put on those hott looking bowling shoes to save money....and still laugh with good friends
Luckily I am not reviewing my bowling skillz! Â
I like it. Â Service is a hit or miss the several times I have been here over the years. Â Personally I do not like watching any type of game or event here. It is too loud and sometimes they do not turn on the sound. But for the occasional bowling game it works. Well it has to, since I refuse to drive off the beach - yeah, I'm lazy, I know.
I went last night (Tuesday) with a big group of people and it was fun. I loved that fact it was Ladies Night, so each game was $2. How can you not be happy with that price on the beach? Â Men paid $5. But on a normal weekend night it can really add up when you factor in their normal prices and drinks/food.
Deserves 4 stars if not for it being so costly to bowl on the beach. My visit was on a night with no plans and tons of energy for it worked out well. The wait for a lane was short but it was filled up with playing a quick game of pool. The atmosphere was a lot more tame then most packed alleys and it gave a calm feeling. Plenty of space for larger groups, and decently priced drinks I would really recommend having birthday parties and family get together. It was a lot of fun and I wouldn't go back there but my love for bowling has resurrected since i bowled a 160.
Review Source:It's a little strange that Lucky Strike works best as a lounge/bar, considering that its main draw are the bowling lanes. This weekend I spent a night at this establishment getting my bowl on, but left disappointed. Perhaps next time, I'll try some place not so gimmicky.
Let me start off by noting that Lucky Strike's bowling lanes are not of regulation size and, consequently, not amateur friendly. It seems as if they reduced the width of the lanes just to cram more lanes and make way for the bar and pool tables.
The sitting area behind the lanes are also quite small. My group shared a couch with the group in the next lane and we were extremely cramped. In fact, I remained standing the entire time.
The lanes not very well lit, illuminated only by black lights and television screens, which can be a little distracting. The idea of psychedelic bowling sounds kind of cool, but my eyesight isn't so hot and I could barely focus on the pins. So, if you're known for throwing gutter balls or for your sub-par accuracy, this is not the place for you.
The rest of the place, however, was pretty nice and swanky. The bar is very big and could probably seat up to 20 people. The TV screens behind the bar are huge, and work great if you're there for the game. They have several pool tables of regulation size, and you can reserve them by the hour. There's a DJ by the pool tables who spins some good tunes, which I believe to be better than relying on a Jukebox. The service was surprisingly good and our waitress was very quick. In fact, she even poured our drinks for us at our table -- we had a bottle of vodka. Lastly, the outside seating is key, especially if you're a smoker. They've got tables and chairs for for you to sit, drink and smoke your cigarette in between rolls.
Overall I must say that Lucky Strike was quite mediocre. The bowling wasn't really that great, but the lounge area was pretty chillin. I probably won't go back to this place, but may only go in for a drink or a game of pool if I lived in the area. For those of you looking for some lanes, look elsewhere.
I have to add a star because this place (ok, I mean the midi burgers) has grown on me and the customer service appears to be improving. Â I continue to be amazed by the tasty food served at this lousy-for-bowling bowling alley. Â The midi burgers are my fave. Â Lucky Strike's midi burgers are mini burgers in a variety of forms that you can mix and match. Â There is the traditional cheeseburger, but also tuna, turkey and buffalo chicken (watchout -- it is spicy!) burger. Â Each order comes with a side of crispy fries. Â
Order a single one with fries and you can have a tasty snack at this pricey joint for about ten bucks and for less calories than a full burger!
Even though I'm not a bowling fan, some of my friends are bowling enthusiasts and play on a weekly league. This week I joined them to cheer on their teams, mingle, and grab a late dinner.
Even before I walked in I could here the usual loud pop/rock anthems blasting inside. As I stepped into the darkened alley, I could see some of the girls singing and dancing along. I found my friends and chatted and cheered, then decided on the Key West Chicken Skewers. What a great choice, it tasted best when I squeezed lime on top and then dipped into a sweet sauce on the side, and although slightly overpriced, not expensive.
The service at Lucky Strike is hit or miss, but overall the place is a good alternative to the usual bar scene on Lincoln Road. And with a full bar and yummy food, you don't even have to go for the bowling. In fact viewing parties are sometimes held here, although you'll need close captioning, cause the party music don't stop at this bowling spot.
We went to Lucky Strike after dinner at Doraku to watch the Hawks & Celtics in game 6 as they have a nice tv viewing area behind the bar. Â I loved the fact that they "bubble drinks" on their drink menu. Â Adding champagne to anything is a plus in my book. Â :)
5 drinks in, we decided to play pool and bowl one game. Â Both were humorous, yet a LOT of fun.
I really liked LS. Â The decor is plush and the bar area is great. Â If you don't want to belly up at the bar, they have a nice couch/lounge area to relax in. Â The night we were there, there was a dj spinning who was gracious enough to play my drunken request for Tupac. Â Things clear out quickly around one or so.
Lucky Strike is a good idea when you and your friends can't decide whether you want to bowl or party. Located right off Lincoln Road, It's a bowling alley with a bar, pool tables, and a nice lounge area. Drinks cost a little less than they do elsewhere in South Beach.
I would highly recommend this place. It's a good place to start nights and an even better one to have a low key night out.
cheers
The first Lucky Strike opened in Hollywood in 2003 where it became a hot spot for locals and celebrities. It is being recognized by the media as "America's first ture bowling lounge". One of their newest locations is in Miami, one half block north on Michigan off Lincoln Road.
If you want something different than people gazing on Lincoln road, it's not just a bowling alley, the food at the restaurant is very good. Just like the bowling alleys of the '60s, they have reasonably priced good food. The portions are also better than you'll find than most Lincoln Road restaurants. The Chicken Tenders on a bed of fries; the pizza, the bugers and  the wings are all on my repeat list.
If you want to go bowling, you'll need to call for a reservation in advance. Also, if you haven't been to a bowling alley since the '60s or '70,don't expect retro prices.
There is a large bar and couches in the back with several large screens broadcasting ESPN for the early Gen Yers. You'll also find several pool tables. There are several couches in the front on the street, but there's not much to gaze at since it's off Lincoln Road.
For parking, there's the Michigan Ave. $12.00 or less garage and metered parking. Make sure you feed your meter.
