I ordered a small thin crust cheese pizza, fries, and slice of tiramisu online.
The delivery guy got here in 40 minutes, even though grubhub said it should be an hour (yay!)
I'm giving the place 4 stars only because the pizza lacked almost any flavor and was just bland. granted it was really cheap, i would still expect a tiny, tiny bit of some kind of flavor. but for that kind of money i guess i should have expected it.
I'm a huuuuuuuge tiramisu fan, and this little slice was actually really good. it came in pie slice form instead of the standard square shape, and it even had a delicious chocolate crust. it was yummy (wish there was more of it!). the fries were also pretty good.
These guys have gone from great to horrible. I have been ordering from them for a while. Last 3 orders have been epic failures. They were always on time and delivered the right food. First fail, they didn't give us salad dressing and gave us the wrong food. Â We got a credit, which was not even for the full amount. We had no choice but to use the credit, and this time, the food was cold. The 3rd time, my wife did not know we had a bad experience, as I usually order the food,, so she ordered from them by random before I got home from work. Food was missing and the driver was an ass. They need to get their act together, I will not order from here again. There food is excellent but their service stinks as of lately.
Review Source:So I happened to get pizza after indulging in things that usually make one less picky about what they eat, if you get my drift. . . and i STILL thought their pizza lacked flavor and crust was not nearly as crispy as i thought it should be. Bummer, indeed. Oh! And they guy on the phone was less than polite sounding, but i'll be honest when saying i'm kinda sensitive-but still!
Review Source:The woman who works behind the counter is great and should get a raise. The food took to long to arrive which is our biggest complaint. The sauce could use a little more oregano which is our second biggest complaint. Beside that, we are satisfied plus customers who will be happy to return given the opportunity. Our only question is, will Lucky Vitos have us? The crust is pretty good too.
Review Source:So Lucky Vito's is usually my go to when I'm jonesing for some pizza. Â I love ordering their Friday special 18" cheese and liter of soda for 10.99. Â I did so tonight and was excited! Â Until I opened up the pizza box :(. Let me backtrack and say that the pizza is normally delicious, perfect cheese, sauce ratio, Â This pizza was just gross, from the look to the taste. Â It was overly salty, saucy and cold :((. Needless to say I'm sorely disappointed and also really thirsty because the delivery guy forgot my 7-up and even though he was supposed to come back he has yet to show up. Â It's sad that after a solid 5 years of being a faithful customer, this ONE horrible time may have me devoting my pizza loyalties elsewhere. Â Lucky Vito, you've violated the trust and sanctity of our relationship, I don't think it's going to work between us anymore =/ Â Ciao bello
Review Source:I had high hopes for this establishment and was severely disappointed. We ordered three different types of chicken sandwiches parmesan, marinara, and buffalo. The differences between the three was so minimal it was laughable, simply a different splash of sauce. The bread they used was sub par and the sandwiches were essentially not eatable. The only bright start was the soup which was eerily similar to Campbels.
The delivery took over two hours for only 3 sandwiches and a 2 mile trip. I would recommend staying away from everything involving this establishment.
Wow. How the mighty have fallen.
It pains me to write this update, because this place used to be so good. Well, sort of this place; Lucky Vito's used to have a location on Milwaukee, which I ordered from nearly religiously for years. Alas, it wasn't enough to save that location from closing, so since then I've been ordering from this location. And it is VASTLY sub-par.
Certain things are a bit different, but manageable. The meat sauce has just barely enough meat to qualify, despite the extra charge remaining. The pasta varies between about al dente and mush. The delivery is still pretty speedy and friendly, though, so I kept them on my list. Tonight was the last straw, unfortunately.
We ordered a pizza with basil. There was a smear of paste under the cheese and the basil, while costing $1.30, was - I'm not kidding - a pinch of mince, combined with dried. I can buy an entire bottle of dried basil for less than $1.30. This was a joke.
We also got a time-honored favorite, the baked mostaccioli with meat sauce. The pasta was cooked fine, but the cheese on top was an afterthought at best. The meat sauce was again barely meat sauce, but MOST disappointing, they've bulked out the sauce with chunks of carrots, celery and onion. The carrots leant a very bitter taste to the sauce, so much so that I didn't eat it past a few bites.
We also got fried chicken wings, which were supposed to come with hot sauce and bleu cheese dressing. They did not. They were decent wings, if small.
I called to complain about the basil before I'd opened up the rest. The person who answered credited my account the $1.30, but it's unlikely I'll be using it.
They didn't use to be like this. I'm really disappointed that they've declined so much over the last year after so many years of dependably solid food.
GREAT thin crust pizza. Homeade sausage, good cheese, just the right amount of tang in the sauce. If you're looking for good Chicago thin-crust pizza, this is your place...don't expect fancy CPK style pizza's though.
Great nightly specials, large delivery area, definitely worth a try.
I am going to try Lucky Vito's again, but for the first time around, I thought it was good! So the pizza was really good and the Sunday deal is awesome. It's like an XL for $17 or something like that. I like thin pizza and have been searching far and wide for a go-to delivery place. It might be Lucky Vito's! BUT, our pizza arrived after an hour and 20 minutes and was cold. Booo. Maybe our fault for ordering at the peak of the Bulls game? I'll give you another chance Lucky Vito's!
Review Source:We've been trying to find a go to pizza delivery place for about a year. Â After playing GrubHub roulette and losing far too often we spun the wheel again tonight and went with Vito. Â Could not be happier. Â The delivery was quick and arrived 30 mins before the quoted time. Â The prices are fantastic. Â We also ordered the baked mostacholi, cheese garlic bread, large calzone and a small pizza. Â Little did we know how generous the portions were. Â Note: the large calzone is ridiculous, easily enough for two people. Â You've been warned. Â We now have food for the next two days and the total, including delivery and tip, was 37bucks!! Â We've ordered a single pie from Metro Pizza II, been pissed about how "MEH" it was AND paid about the same price. Â Do yourself a favor, call Vito.
Review Source:Just finishing up the extra thin margarita pizza we ordered which was strictly fair. They did not use FRESH mozzarella or fresh basil as described. We added tomato slices and 1/2 artichokes and the the total was almost $40! We didn't wait too long for delivery but it arrived totally cold ;(
Review Source:So I decided to take a chance on an unknown Italian restaurant I found on http://grubhub.com. Lucky Vito's seemed promising but it only turned out to be a huge regret. I would like to first mention that they took over 55 min to deliver an order of mostaccioli and ravioli. Not sure why it took so long to make the blandest Italian food I've ever had but they succeeded in that respect. The ravioli was ok and the mostaccioli literally had no sauce. To top things off my boyfriend and I both had stomach aches a few hours later and fell asleep curled up in fetal positions. So basically order only if you desire a stomach ache.
Review Source:Like all midwestern pizza joints, they refuse to cut a proper pie cut when asked, but then beyond that: Â the dough is flavorless and flour-y and there was nothing really above average about this pie. Sorry! I do have high pizza expectations and they did not deliver. Well, I mean not literally. They did deliver the pizza, and right when they said they would. But in the more epicurean sense, they failed to deliver deliciousness.
Review Source:Lucky Vito's has the best pizza I've ever had. The girl up front is really nice and friendly too... I always recommend this place to anyone in search of a really good pizza. The only thing that sucks is that it's on a main street, it's not a place where you can sit down, and it's easy to miss if you're not looking hard enough.
Try the Lucky Vito's Special!
Someone in my household eats at Lucky Vito's at least once a week!
You can buy a GIANT slice of pizza for $2.50, and they make their own sausage, so we recommend the Sausage pizza. Â
The only negative is that they use Styrofoam containers for their pizza by the slice, and that irks me.
I was really excited to try this Pizzeria, because from my house it's a hop, skip, and a jump (who we kiddin' I drove the 4 blocks).
Not bad- Not bad at all. It's a nice pick up and get out place. They even deliver. They sell slices which was nice and the prices are reasonable. I may go here again because of convenience.
Be careful if you daze off you may miss it- luckily they opted for some neon lights to help them stand out amongst the blah of that Armitage/Kimball corner.
