Lucky's must be doing something right to have three locations around the city, I'm just not quite sure what that is. The sandwiches come with vinaigrette coleslaw and fries inside the sandwich, which basically overpower whatever else is in the sandwich. I ordered the Turkey & Cheese - or at least I think I did. I mainly tasted  the fries, which are good but belong to the side of the sandwich, and the vinaigrette coleslaw, which I had to scrape off because there was so much of it. Next time I want a sandwich in the area, I'll just go to Birchwood Kitchen or Jimmy John's. On the bright side, the sandwich I had at Lucky's was only $8. So there's that.

I was thinking this was a sandwich place, perhaps good for lunch, but it's really a bar. Whoops! With that in mind, I'm going to evaluate the food. I can't comment on the bar itself, as I was there at midday midweek when no one was really there.

The sandwiches all seem to come with fries in them. I guess that makes them filling, but it seemed more gross to me. I had a reuben, the reuben part of which was pretty solid, but the presentation of a massive, heaping sandwich stuffed with fries left me feeling blah after eating it.

They do some specials and variety sandwiches, which may be worth exploring, given that you want to go on a binge.

I work up the street from this place and have really been enjoying swinging by for lunch. The sandwiches taste great and are always too much for me to finish in one sitting. The beer menu is decent and both the servers I have dealt with have been very friendly. I love bartenders who will chat with you over lunch. Makes my breaks more enjoyable.
It's also nice to have a not so hipster-esque bar in Wicker Park. Just saying...

Still seems slightly ironic to find a true sports bar (i.e.: games on several TVs) in the heart of Hipster Park.

Let me start by saying that I have never been to the Wrigleyville location and I was purely driven to visit Lucky's by the Man v. Food episode that has become synonymous with the restaurant.

I visited the Wicker Park location approximately 3 weeks after open and was pleased to find a location that features a full bar (stocked with $3 PBRs to appeal to local demographics), multiple TVs, and glass doors that look like they will open up quite nicely come summer.

My buddy and I both ordered Pastrami sandwiches, one with everything, and one sans slaw. Both of us agreed that the bread, meat, and cheese were amazing. The fries were fantastic and would taste even better if you customized what ones were on your sandwich (like the Cajun). To those complaining of bland food, make sure you include the coleslaw and customize your fries because there was nothing bland about what we ordered.

Price was incredibly reasonable and the atmosphere was great. Catherine (server/bartender) was a blast to talk to and incredibly friendly and attentive.

Sorry to those who HAD to have a sandwich shop and not a sports bar, but as long as you know that going in it is a great place to have a good time on a reasonable budget!

Just what I expected having been to the Wrigleyville location in the past. I had the Two Bagger (corned beef, pastrami and cheese), which I loved. The whole fries and cole slaw on every sandwich thing is not for everyone, but I really like it. I only ate half my sandwich and took the rest home. I ate the other half cold the next day (I don't recommend trying to reheat it) and it was still good! The beer selection is pretty amazing too. Not the kind of place you just pop in and out of like Jimmy Johns, but still great and well worth the price in my opinion.

After seeing the opening of this bad boy blow up my local news feed (aka my once-a-day neighborhood EveryBlock email), I decided it was high time I tried it. I actually saw the original Lucky's Sandwich Company via an eating challenge on Man vs. Food some time back and thought to myself, "That sandwich looks delicious, but large quantities of it would probably be gross." I'm sure there is some truth to that statement, but I decided not to find out by limiting my intake to just one sandwich.

Lucky's whole deal is they put cole slaw and fries on EVERY sandwich.  So you basically end up with a giant, over-stuffed meal sandwich.  I decided on the corned beef and it was almost everything I imagined it would be: lots of meat, lots of fries and lots of cole slaw. The sandwich was pretty good, but the meat was pretty dry. It's like biting into a Toaster Strudel and realizing that you didn't cook the middle long enough.  Toasty delicious on the outside, but could be better on the inside.

It wasn't enough to make me dislike the sandwich, but it had the potential to be extra delicious if the meat were juicier. Everything is better when it's juicier.

Overall, the staff was friendly and they even have a nice selection of beer.  Oh, and the eating challenge? It's three of the aforementioned giant sandwiches in an hour.  Good luck.

Had never been to the other locations, so this was my first time at a Lucky's.  As others mention, it straddles the line of being a sandwich shop and ordinary sports bar.  I think I'd prefer it as a sandwich shop.  I found the service to be rather nice and friendly.  The sandwiches, however, seem to be overrated.  Not much flavor.   Could've used some dressings.  Fries on the sandwich are not as clever as they like to think.  They really just mute the flavors of the overall sandwich.  I may try it again someday, but better sandwiches exist in the 'hood.  Prices are very reasonable for the quantity of food.

I heard good things about Lucky's so I checked out their web site. I got the impression it was a sandwich shop. When the Wicker Park location opened right up the street, I thought I'd give it a try.

Walking in the door was quite a surprise. Although they do serve sandwiches, Lucky's is not a sandwich shop. It's a sports bar. I was really confused! Don't get me wrong - I like sports bars, but the Lucky's presented on the web site is nothing like the actual thing. Very odd way to start the experience.

We ordered several things to sample the menu. The Caesar salad was fantastic, the sandwiches were mediocre, and the fries were soggy. I couldn't quite figure out the house cole slaw - very unusual stuff. Prices were reasonable.

The service was friendly and reasonably attentive. I might give the place another try, now that I know what to expect, but it's not going to be at the top of my list.

Two Bagger and put an egg on it!

The same great sandwiches without the hassle of getting to Wrigleyville and cramming into that awkwardly small place. This restaurant/bar has a pretty good layout and some big TVs for watching games. They have a smaller selection of drafts, but all are craft and pretty good choices. I love Lucky's sandwiches (As seen on Man Vs Food) and this location has the food challenge, although not yet posted.

I did notice that the prices in this place were just a bit more than the original and University Village locations, but more convenient if you're in Wicker/Bucktown.

    Plus: Darts, Shuffle Board!
