Northside Bar & Grill

I've been a long time customer of the Northside.  I used to go there when they were located under the EL on webster.  Anyway, I still frequent the location on Damen when I'm craving a decent burger, great hummus and wings.  I also like the always changing layout and decor.  Keeps things interesting.  However, I went there this past week for an early lunch and some beers.  I was with my husband and we decided to split a burger and ordered a pitcher of miller lite.  finished our food and drinks.  Asked for the bill, only to find out our bill was just under $35.00.  WHAT?  I knew they raised their prices, but...$18.00 for a pitcher of Miller Light?  COME ON!  We are not New York or Miami.  Need less to say, we will not be frequenting the NS anytime soon.  I'm bummed and feel jiped.  (I guess the needless and ever changing decor needs to be paid somehow, right?

Good place.  Good beer and good social atmosphere.  Parking is very hard though and the balance between bar and restaurant is not very good.  Overall though I like coming to this place.

So, so nice on the inside but the food really isn't that good. Really close to my house so we've gone multiple times and I'm never impressed with the food. It's not bad, it's just not exciting or fun to eat. I can't wait until summer though, their patio looks fun.
