The atmosphere did seem good- lots of people sitting around, listening to music. wasn't sure if they came for the beers or the ambiance, but they seemed nice enough. The quality and selection were decent, although I really do not understand why make a decision to not have even two taps at a beer bar. There is a semi decent beer store not too far away, and thus unless it is for music, I don' t see a major reason to come back. Wouldn't be for the "too cool for this place" service.. I can see paying $5 or $6 for a pint because it is on draft and I can't get that at home, but if most of the bottles can be purchased and enjoyed at home I will do just that. If they do not have kegs due to the fact that the area is not know for its appreciation of craft beers and thus kegs may go bad before enough locals get some, there's always an option to gt 1/4 size or even 1/8 kegs or have specials every two weeks or so before it skunks. Did not have the food, but that was due to the fact that nothing on the menu seemed that fascinating.
Review Source:Good goddess Athena I love this place.
Whenever I want to get out of town (Northeast Florida, these days), and I have a couple days to spare, I head on down to Miami to visit Alexis and Luna Star. I've never, ever, found anything quite like this place in all my travels. A tiny little place, no tvs, conversation is king. Alexis, the owner, is curious about everyone and everything. She is expert at striking up conversations with newcomers, and making them feel they've been part of the fabric there at Luna since the beginning. The music is always top notch, and since the place is so small, you feel like the performer is playing for you.
See you there!

Came across this place during a recent trip to Miami. Found Luna Star Cafe to be a super friendly atmosphere! Alexis, the owner, bartender, and patrons made me feel at home. They also delivered on high-quality, super-tasty beers. Tried some really good local beers as well as my first Kenyan beer. I'm a beer aficionado and was very pleased by their comprehensive selection. Highly recommend this place, as a northern California guy, I felt right at home. Great live music, wonderful people, and superb beer!! You guys keep doing what you're doing, cuz it works fantastically!
