My sister and I were just strolling around and came upon this place. Â Decided to go in for some fresh juice. Â The bar is really cool. Â They probably have 40 infused vodkas and slushy, swirling drinks. Â We had the hummus sampler and was pleasantly surprised by the different tastes and the presentation. Â Looks like they serve pretty healthy fare. Â So glad we happed upon this place!
Review Source:Ahhhh to be a kid again! It's never that simple, but for us a trip to Luscious Nectar is pretty damn close. Actually, it's better than close because we not only get to drink slushy style drinks, but they have alcohol in them! Plus this is a pretty cool spot to chill out in more ways than one.
Atmosphere: This place is as colorful as the drink selection. The walls are painted deep purple, bright purple, royal blue, and lime green with animated local art work displayed in bunches. The bar area is off towards the back left with plenty of seating around the bar as well as in high top tables. The upstairs area is a dedicated dance floor complete with its own bar. There is a small patio out front with heat lamps and an awning.
Service: Â We had great service while sitting at the bar. We arrived with a group and none of us went empty handed. There were 3 guys working behind the bar that not only knew every flavor but helped make our drink choices easy by providing us samples.
Drinks: Â There are so many variations of drinks you can choose from. There is an entire color- wheel- pie- chart in the center of the menu. This chart shows the color and flavor of a drink, but then there is an entire section of flavor infused liquors to add in. The base of most of the drinks starts with what they call a "lushie" which come in a variety of flavors and are displayed in there large dispensing machines. Â
Food: Â There is one menu with two sides. One side features food and fruit smoothies or the non-alcoholic sort. The food is mostly tapas, wraps, sandwiches and small organic pizzas but we did not eat during our visit.
I've been wanting to wait a wile before declaring what my favorite bar is in Fort Collins. I feel like now that I've lived here for a year I can say luscious nectar is my favorite bar.
First off the drinks here are redonkulous. Whoever came up with the idea of buying slushie machines and making alcoholic drinks in them is ether the act of madman or of a genius. All of the lushies* (Luscious nectar's alcoholic slushies) taste great, i think i've worked my way though most of them at this point. Some are a little overly acidic for my tastes like the mami vice, it tastes good but i have slight (non serious) allergies to some fruits so i think its just a reaction to that. I like the creamer ones like the banana split or the white russian, they tend to be sweet like a milk shake but get you tipsy like an adult beverage.
They also have every flavor of infused liquors imaginable. Most of them are vodka but the range of flavors is nuts. Everything from yerba mate to bacon and maple syrup, and FYI, mate = good, bacon = bad. There's so many I'd find it hard to try every single one unless you went hard every weekend for a year. The flavors tend to be, at least for me, hit or miss. Some work really well, some are strange, some are just bad, it all depends. However they usually taste like what your ordering, so if you asked for bacon, its your own fault.
They also carry pretty much any other spirit that you'd expect at a bar. Their beer selection isn't bad ether, but with so many unique choices available why would you even bother with the booze you can get anywhere.
On top of all these beverages you can get they also have really good food too. Pretty much all the tapas are great and some are quite unique. The hummus platter has 4 different kinds of flavored hummus, the best one being a curry hummus. There's another dish that has chicken one served with a sweet chili sauce and a thai style peanut sauce. The first time i had the food I was surprised at how good the food was, now i usually try to get there early to get some now.
On the weekends they usually have a DJ after around 10pm, other times the music is played off an mp3 player at the bar. The DJ's here can be sorta hit or miss, some nights they'll play lots of club music like house and dubstep which i love, and other nights there will be way too much hip hop. Depends on the night, but i think that's just me being nit picky about the music since i produce and DJ as well. But i do like this bar over most in old town because it's not non-stop hip-hop like most bars in old town every time you go.
In fact, its so popular on the weekends i almost always see a line to get in and it gets packed inside. Me and my friends tend to try to arrive early to beat the line and get our own table. Its all about controlling your drinking stamina on a Friday or Saturday night if you wanna have somewhere to sit.
All and all Luscious Nectar is always a good place to spend your money, the foods awesome, the drinks are even more awesome, and generally the music is better than most other bars in old town.
I LOVED Luscious!!
A couple friends and I came here on the afternoon of Tour de Fat. Sitting on the patio with a cold drink watching the people go by was such an awesome way to pass the afternoon. They also have happy hour specials; buy one get one half off, so bring a friend for happy hour!
The only other place I've had alcoholic slushy drinks is at Fat Tuesday, which I LOVE, so I had high expectations. I ordered a Cosmo and was immediately in love! It was so good! I ended up ordering their margarita lushie later, too, which was also yummy. I wish I could come back!!
When I was a kid growing up in Utah, my friends and I often spent many summer days walking to the nearby 7-11 to blow our allowance on ridiculous candy like Sixlets and Pop Rocks, those chalky candy cigarettes, and Slurpies. The Slurpee was an unmistakable nostalgic flavor of summer - ice cold on a sweltering afternoon, loaded with sugar, and providing us with an opportunity to flex our creative muscles by mixing and matching flavor combinations. We mixed flavors and colors, layering them in the cup like sand art. Creating a Slurpee never got us in trouble for playing with our food.
As adults in Fort Collins, we have a place where we can tap into that nostalgic Slurpee love, but with a little bit of a twist. Lushies at Luscious Nectar are just as fun as Slurpies, coming in a variety of different colors and flavors that you can mix and match, but are loaded with alcohol. Luscious Nectar isn't only about Lushies, though. They also have an incredible selection of infused alcohols to choose from, and outside of the alcoholic drinks, they offer some tasty fruit smoothies and tapas for the lunch crowd.
Overall, I really love Luscious Nectar. Their drinks embody the same artistic spirit as the space they inhabit, and the food is better than you'd find in most of the other Old Town bars. While I think their drinks are the main attraction on the menu, you're not going to feel cheated if you get something to eat. Plus, anytime I'm feeling nostalgic for that summertime Slurpee, I'd rather head on over to Luscious Nectar for a Lushie or fruit smoothie than go for the real deal at 7-11.
Stopped in to this "juice bar" on a rainy  Thursday afternoon looking to try something new. My bf had the infamous mofo (crazy bright blue slushy) while I opted for the lushy mojito.  His tasted about like a 7 eleven slurpy LOADED with 4 or 5 different kinds of alcohol.. while mine was a  very poor excuse for a mojito.  Both were far too sugary for our tastes. I like the idea of the infused alcohol and fresh juices, however nothing in there came off as fresh or exciting in my opinion. Overall the atmosphere is nice and the bartender was great, but I can say for sure that I don't plan on making my way back anytime soon. With a name like "Luscious Nectar juice bar" I was really hoping for something more.
Review Source:Best drinks in Fort Collins. I came here with some friends last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. When I heard that it was slushie style drinks, all I thought was that they were going to be girl drinks. This however is not the case. First off, they are extremely strong. Secondly, they taste amazing but just dont drink them too quickly or you will be getting the brainfreeze from hell. I did not try any of the food so I will have to do that before I cold give it a 5 star. Great place to dance and a good mixed crowd. I will definately be a repeat offender at this place.
Review Source:Now this place I can get with! This is the first bar I've ever been to that has infused alcohols (like bacon infused vodka!). It's strange because really, after going here, You wonder why every bar on earth doesn't have a large variety of infused liquor at the ready. This place is genius.
That's not even why we came in here though. The infused booze was the frosting, we came in here last nite to have their slushy style drinks. How bout a frozen mojito (like my friend had) or a frozen Adios MF (like i had, of course). Yes, they do exist. We went on a monday nite so it wasn't pakked but I heard they have a DJ and a party atmosphere on the weekend, and with frozen drinks, I wouldnt doubt it. This place is pretty sweet to sit ouside at and have a nice little frozen concoction. Genius.
What can I say about Luscious Nectar but what a fantastic place to dance, drink and be merry. Situated in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins on Linden Street, this cute little club draws everyone from college folks to middle-aged kids. DJ and dancing on starts around 10:00 PM, on the second level, with lots of modern rock and remixes.
If your more into just hanging with friends than the first floor and patio are perfect place to just chat and chill.
It is a great place to chill out with a Slushy on a hot summer night.
Love this place! I would have never known it existed to be fair, as we normally don't head into Old Town nearly as much as we should. But decided to try it out a few weeks ago for the pub quiz on Tues. Nights. Boy am I glad we tried it out. The place has a funky yet cool vibe with all the art work on the walls. Invites you to glare up at the great works. The drinks and food, definitely keep us coming back though. The slushie/lushie drinks could be EXTREMELY dangerous if you decide to have more than a few (as they are pretty potent with their infusions of alcohol. They are definitely worth checking out. The beer selection is also impressive for a smaller bar as they have yummy New Belgium brews on tap you wouldn't expect to see (like 1554...one of my favorites). Allows for a nice selection if you aren't feeling the slushies. Lastly the food is a bit better than typical bar food, with a nice little tapas menu and sandwich menu. The couple nicely with a beer or slushie.
Now that Summer is here, and the heat is back, check out Luscious Nectar! After a slushie or a beer...you'll be glad you did!
Hands down, best value drinks for your money in Fort Collins. They taste great, and when you've been dancing like a fool, nothing cools you down like a lushie! The atmosphere is cool, the staff is friendly, and the music is funky.
Don't listen to the girl complaining about the night crowd. She says the same thing in all her bar reviews. If you don't like it when people try and talk or dance with you, don't go to a bar, lady. And let's not kid ourselves here, when was the last time you danced and didn't get sweaty? If you want to have drinks, not talk to anyone, and listen to the music you choose, stay at home. The rest of us will enjoy the extra space at the bar to move around and dance!
For the rest of you normal people out there who actually like to dance and have a good time when you go out, Luscious Nectar is a great spot!
This place has long been a favorite of my co-workers, though I hadn't made it there until this week with some friends. Â I will have to admit, I liked it better than I thought I would!
Okay, so here's the concept: Alcoholic Slushies! Â There have a ton of different slushy flavors and you can mix and match any of the flavors (they have a cheat sheet of good mixes if you ask for it). Â And if you are so inclined, you can top off your slushy with a shot of one of their home-made infused liquors.
We all started off with their White Russian slushy and topped it with a shot of the vanilla vodka and it was super yummy! Â If I could drink that every day, I would! Â Next I had a mix of watermelon marg and mojito slushies topped with a shot of pineapple vodka, and once again, super yummy! Â Then we also sampled some of their infused liquors, to which they had a ton of unique flavors. Â We tried the Skittles, Starburst, Chocolate Strawberry, Bubblegum, and Hot Tamale (I think they were all vodka, but I don't remember :P ). Â My favorite by far was the Skittles vodka which tasted EXACTLY like Skittles! Â They also have other more adventurous flavors for those that like to take a dare (bacon vodka anyone?).
Only down side was that it is a little bit more expensive and that when we went there was only one bar tender and it took a while to get our drinks since it was kind of busy. Â But otherwise, definitely a fun place to got to change it up from your normal bar drinks!
