Magic Bag Theatre

Cash only for tickets, said the sign. Then cash only for the drinks after we'd already paid cover because turns out their machine is down. So we decided to skip around the corner for something more than a domestic beer since our cash supply was limited to the entry we'd paid and a beer each. There's a whole act ahead of the band we came to see, so good deal, right? We go to leave and the door man says to us that we're only allowed to re-enter if we're coming back with more cash from the ATM... and have to be fast or we'll have to pay cover again. AWFUL business model, bad customer service.

How have I never been here before?! I have been to so many concert venues but this one escapes me. I liked it! Very intimate, great view of the stage, awesome sound..but, the tables were quite tight next to each other. An elbow here, and oops sorry I rammed into your chair there, a hey, can you move up so I can get out occasionally. The waitress was attentive- I never had to go to the bar once. Would I come back? Most definitely.

I have never been so offended in my entire life.  Until I was about to leave I had the best night since I moved to Detroit.Mega 80s night was amazing!  I went to cash out my credit card, and the bartender told me their machine was down.  They said they couldn't run my card despite having taken it, AND MY ID, when I opened my tab.  Immediately the bouncer/manager walker up to me and attempted to intimidate me.  He said I would have to come up with the money or I would not receive my ID back.  His demeanor was in my face and attempting to intimidate.

I have never felt so rudely treated in my entire life.  I was as polite as I could be explaining that I needed to work in the ER of Detroit tomorrow.  I would leave my card and give them the only cash I had $10, and return for my card tomorrow and the bartender just said "talk to him."  Him was the bouncer/manager who said thats too bad "come up with the money."  I've never been so offended in my life.  I will never return to this bar and I would warn people to be careful when dealing with this shady establishment.
