My co-workers and I come here for Happy Hour sometimes.  The drinks are great.  Service is excellent.  I've only had the hot wings and have had nothing else because they are AMAZING with a thick blue cheese spread.
Baby Guinness shots for everyone!  Trust me, you'll love it!

I've been patronizing this joint for many moons, near 20 years now. That, in and of itself speaks volumes. If a joint has that sorta longevity, they're doing something right.

I've NEVER eaten here but I am a big fan nonetheless, and here is why:
    * Good place to watch sports, especially if you are Louisville Football Fan
    * Located in Downtown Fort Lauderdale
    * Consistent and authentic
    * Big, with nooks and crannys
    * The only place (it wasn't Halloween) where I spotted Pirates and Klingons cavorting

That's it. I will update this review when I finally dig into the grub.

Cabeza OUT! Find me on YouTube, too.

I love this joint. I sometimes visit for the drinks, but mostly for their awesome Shepherd's Pie. Everyone around me is usually drunk and joyful while I am drunk off the taste of my beloved mashed potatoes ground beef and pepper seasoning. :D

Was there last Friday-right before the 5 pm rush. Meet a friend to have a "quick dring and catch-up-on-things" before the weekend started. Service was friendly and attentive. My friend enjoyed the free goodies for Happy Hour.  Look forward to go back and enjoy the outdoor bar.

My son and I both had the fish and chips along with a potato soup and ended with the bread pudding.  All were very good and made in the kitchen with care.  The band was playing and was not obnoxiously loud.  It was pretty crowded at 10:00pm.  The last time I was here was over 5 years ago and it is still as good as I remembered.

******   -     The pub's food was everything a great Irish pub should be - Hearty portions, Decently priced and Great tasting, some special drinks are a little on the highs side, but also great. You will find the people and the service outstanding. If you want to have a great evening along with your delicious meal and drinks, attend on the nights that David Scott (guitarist) is performing with Dave Shelly and the Bluestone, They will have standing on your seats, I don't know how often they are there, but well worth an extra night out to hear them.

It's an Irish Pub.  I can't really say it is any better or worse than other Irish pubs.

I ate the Irish Dip which is pretty much just a French Dip.  It was good.  And it didn't wreak havoc on my stomach.  Amazing.

They also have shots called 'Baby Guinness'.  They're delicious, have one.

We came here tonight to watch the Yankee/tigers game- we got the chicken pot pies- omg! They were great! Hearty, creamy just great!! It was hot fresh and I love the fact they put mashed potatoes on top!!! Yummy!!! I like the outside bar area it was small and quaint and they also have the booth rocker/sliders with the canopies like at quarterdeck- frickin love those!! It was very very clean inside and the staff was super nice but our waitress seemed like she would get lost from time to time- all in all I would totally go back!!

Great Irish pub without the smoke!  The food is your normal pub fare of Chicken Pot Pies, Shepard's Pie, and the like, but they have also added some great new entrees.   Goat Cheese Salad with cranberries and walnuts is a great fresh alternative to the normal fried and fatty pub foods. I added grilled chicken to mine.   They also have an excellent mahi-mahi that is also new to their menu.  They have several other items that are brand new that we will have to try on our next visit.

Service is always friendly and attentive and they know how to pour a proper Guinness!

Check this place out any day of the week and you will have: great food, cold beer, and most likely, music.

From an Irish Pub who would have ever thought one of the world's best chicken pot pie would be created.  Maguire's chicken pot pie is the ultimate when it comes to comfort food.  Great atmosphere and away from most of the hustle and bustle.

I spent some time here recently as it became my destination for watching some world cup soccer, and it was a fine destination indeed. This place drew a large soccer crowd and opened early to accommodate viewers. The bar itself has a truly comfortable, at-home neighborhood feel. From what I can tell, there is a nice selection of Irish beers and there are plenty of TVs to satisfy sports fans.

On the negative side, I have not been impressed with the food. The best dish I had here was the Irish Potato soup served with cheddar and bacon, which was filling and good. On the other end of the spectrum, the worst dish I have had here is the corned beef and cabbage. What should be a highlight on the menu, was not. The corned beef was tough and not flavorful. The cabbage was also just boiled and had little to no flavor to it-no salt, nothing. The spicy mustard they provide upon request was mandatory to down this meal. Falling somewhere between the potato soup and corned beef is the cheeseburger. It was fine but I am not counting down the days till my return for it. There are much better burgers to be had in Fort Lauderdale.

Service is good and management is very friendly and accommodating. I do like this bar for a place to have a cold beer and watch some sports, but would not come here solely for the food.

My third time here and so far service, food, entertainment all been spot on. Great beer selection.

    So far tried the:

    Shepards pie. ($12)
    Lamb stew ($14)
    Stuffed chicken Kildare ($14)

All great. Great Beatles cover band (Across the Universe) last time i was in.

This is the type of place I have been missing as of late - the kind of bar that does not feel pretentious. The type of place you can walk into dressed in jeans and a tee and not feel out of place. The kind of place people come to to start (or end) a party night or spend the entire evening - having dinner, a few drinks, good conversation, and great atmosphere.

Arriving at about nine on a Saturday night, the place was packed. The back room seemed to have a private function going on and there was a band in the front room, playing sets intermittently for most of the night. While it was crowded, it was not standing room only and we managed to find a booth relatively easy.

The service was excellent from the get go: as the non-drinker, the waitress kept my chosen soda refilled throughout the night and it is nice not to be charged by the glass when you're not drinking. The beers on tap were excellent and would serve any pub well, anywhere in the world: Boddington's Pub Ale, Bass, Newkie (Newcastle) Brown, Harp, and Miller Light to name a few. Even Stella was on tap, rare for American bars. And the bartender knew exactly how to pour a black and tan, something so simple but so easy to get wrong.

The pub grub was everything it should be - hearty portions, decently priced and delicious. I had the chips (which came with the fish and chips) and took me back to getting them fresh at a local chip shop. My friend's chips that I nicked said the fish was perfectly fried - crisp, not greasy, and flaky and absolutely marvelous with a dash of malt vinegar. But be warned: the kitchen closes at ten, so get there early if you want food.

We stayed til the wee hours of the morning, and the bar had emptied out by the time we left but there were still some people around. It is the kind of place I am sure to go back to; the kind of place I wish was closer to my neck of the woods as it would become my neighborhood bar; and the kind of place where I will be getting to know the bartender better.

Great location (for me).  Irish fare at the bar and on the menu.  And the clincher, the Irish pub vibe? Oops, did I walk into TGIF?  Sorry, if you want an Irish pub in S FL there are better choices (Fields).  Maguire's Hill would fit in well on Ft. Lauderdale's non-descript beach front, but that's about it.

One of the BEST Irish pubs in America. Excellent music, delicious food, great beers on tap, friendly staff, and a charming environment. On one side - booths and a bar setting, on the other side - a warm, cozy pub setting with traditional live music. There's a room in the back for more rowdy rock music and fun darts. Good times!

When choosing an Irish Pub, you can go to a place wearing the clothes of the Irish: Guinness, posters of famous Irishmen, and a grumpy bartender with a MidWestern non-accent.  Or, you can go to a place where the people are genuinely friendly and helpful.  Hey, they may even be (imagine this) Irish!

Enter Maguire's Hill 16.  I have not discovered a large Irish population in South Florida, but those that have made the trek to a place that has weather bearing as much resemblance to Ireland as Folger's crystals bear to a caffe in Il Campo come to Maguire's Hill 16.

I have yet to find bartenders as helpful and accommodating as barkeeps James and Willie.  These guys know their stuff, but more importantly, they know their clientle, even late-night schlubs that come in from off the street approaching 1am in the morning.  Hours of drinking later, and I had no idea where the time went.

Food served until midnight on the weekend, and 10 on weekdays.  Come here, the little bit of Irish in your soul will feel right at home.
